Hi, I'm a twenty year old girl in Melbourne, Australia.
Since going back to Uni, I've noticed I've been eating a lot of junk food as it's just so much easier and quicker. I have put on a tiny amount of weight, thought thats not why I'm doing this. I just really think I need to start eating healthier. Other than having a hectic study schedual, I also work two jobs, leaving me very tired at the end of the day.
Does anyone have any quick tips on starting a healthy eating plan? Suggesting what has worked well, easy recipes or good and filling products.

I'm going camping in a group of 5 or so this summer and looking for some new ideas for food, especially dinner and dessert.
I like the idea of socializing and leisurely cooking up something aromatic and mouth-watering after a day at the lake, so I'm not necessarily looking for the usual quick & easy stuff (like camper's stew or banana boats), although space and equipment limits from getting too complex. We are probably going to have a small charcoal barbeque and a campfire and cast iron skillet, maybe a pot or dutch oven. No stove.

I was just wondering if its normal for me to get full so quickly. Ate my first vegan meals today (trying it for a month.) and I got full after one taco when i normally eat like four--and I have a few recipes, but the tofu...doesn't exactly appeal. I'm trying by seasoning the heck out of it. And right now I'd kill for chicken nuggets >.> I understand this is only my first day, however. But I keep getting hungry at random times, but I can't finish my food when I do eat? I'm missing something--other than meat. Honestly, I've always been big on dairy, not so much on meat and eggs. I have my vegan margarine (made sure of it) and rice milk. Should I eat little healthy vegan snacks? I'm saving my tofu taco for lunch...but I have the munchies. I know this isn't an easy dietary change, even temporarily. Any suggestions from seasoned vegans?Ohh. :D Thank you! That explains a lot! And as for the tofu...I think I just need to work on the texture. It worked okay for tacos. Kinda like a chicken taco.

I am vegan and I make dashi. I use simmer dried shiitake and kombu (i never boil it) and then I strain to make dashi. I can't use bonito flakes as I am vegan. My question is this, I also have instant vegan bouillon. Can I use that instead of having to make the dashi with dried shiitake and kombu everytime. Vegan bouillon disolves in water and is much quicker. The reason I make the dashi is for my miso soup and other recipes that call for dashi. I want my food to be authentic Japanese, but sometimes I don't feel like making dashi from scratch (homemade). It is just a lot easier to use my vegan buillon or vegan soup powder. I can't buy the instant dashi at the asian market, because alll the instant dashis have bonito flakes or some type of fish ingredient. Is it okay to use Knorr soup bouillon in my japanese recipes?

I teach Spanish to a group of 5 students. Tomorrow is our last class and we have access to the kitchen! I'd love to have them follow a simple recipe in Spanish to make something yummy!
