I'm just asking for fun since the day is passing rather slow. EX- I love broccoli and lamb shoulders (they are expensive but so good, cooking some tomorrow and giving Teensy the raw bone, since I can't crack a cooked bone anyway. lol) also, I love hamburgers medium rare, my mom says I will get sick, but haven't yet. I've been eating them like that since I can remember. Hate well-done burgers, they don't have much juice and taste bland. LG: What is something you want (food wise) but can't have? give a reason too. For me, I love shrimp but refuse to get any because my mom, older brother and sister are all allergic to it and even the smell makes them sick. so......I'll have to wait till I move on my own or go out to eat some shrimp. *cries* lol!oh, yeah.I forgot about bbq meatballs. love them but don't have them often as I'd like.nissa, I'd love an ice cream cake right about now. I'll help you with it. lol! been so long since I've had one too. moreOpen Question: My boyfriend just threatened me...i think.?

I got into an argument with my mom before because I was hungry and was cooking myself some sunny-side up eggs and she told me that I was doing it wrong. She insisted that I didn't know what I was doing and that I had overcooked them so she took the eggs off of the pan before I thought they were ready. I was hungry so I dipped a slice of bread into the yolk like I usually do, but when I ate it it was ice cold, as if it had just been taken out of the fridge. It also tasted a little odd. I ate more than half of it because my mom was already mad at me and I didn't want her to yell about my "wasting food", but I didn't like it so eventually stopped. It's only been about a half hour to an hour and I have a really bad stomachache. I told my mom that I thought the eggs might have been undercooked but, being stubborn as she is, she insisted that they were okay. I then thought maybe that the stomachache might just be because I have my period, but I've had it for three days and the cramps usually start two days before and end the day I get my period, so I thought it unlikely that it was just menstrual cramping. Anyways, my stomach really hurts now but I don't know if I have diarrhea (or any other symptoms) because I haven't gone to the washroom yet and it hasn't been that long since I ate the eggs. Note: Please don't give me a lecture about talking nicer about my mother, thank you. moreOpen Question: COOKING HELP! CONTESTS! ETC!?

I'm 17 and my boyfriend Javier is 18. We've been friends since Jr. high and we've been going out for little over a year. :) We both thought that are parents wouldn't be against our relationship because i'm black and he's colombian. Our parents proved us wrong. My family loves him. When my dad was overseas, Javi would come over help my mom out with things that my dad would normally do. My dad and him get along great. I get along with Javi's family, well at least his dad and sisters. His mom is another story. Everything was great between Javi's mom. She became like second mom to me. She would teach me how to cook colombian food and was teaching me spanish. If there was any hatred I couldn't tell. On our one yr anniversary, Javi's mom wanted to do dinner. Javi and I didn't want to because we always spend time together with our families never alone but we end up going.Dinner was great and we all ended up watching movie in the living room. They decided they wanted to go out for ice cream and left. So were alone finally. we started making out, things got heated clothes are missing etc. Next thing light were on and Javi's mom is standing there with disgusted look on her face. i quickly put on bra and shirt. Javi puts on his shirt trying to talk to his mom. Out of nowhere she launches at me calling me whore, slut, the n word, everything but my name. And how Javi doesn't need some black jezebel he needs colobian girl. So she can have beautiful grand babies and not some nappy headed babies etc. I'm shock. I try to speak but I can't. I'm crying and I look over at Javi and I wanted him to stand up for me but I guess he was shocked cuz his face was pale. And she spits on me and pulls me my arm and throws me out. I had to walk home. When I get home i didn't tell my parents because i felt that it would make it worse. I've been depressed, I have bruises on my arm. i have no clue what to do. I let 2 days go by before I called him to talk. no answer and I called the house , no answer. I sent him email, no reply. Its been officially 2 weeks, I haven't heard anything and it hurts. i feel like my heart been ripped out. I even went to his house and got no answer even though I could hear them laughing inside. My friend Isabell said she saw him at the mall with his fam.She said he looked miserable and when she mentioned my name he looked like he was about to cry. I don't know what to do. I have a friend living with me that needs medical. He has no insurance and no income. He is currently enrolled in school and should be done withing the next few months. Anyways, he is diabetic and needs assistance right away cause he is out of medicine. I told him to try to apply for Medicaid. He had went down and they had said they were going to deny him because he is not disabled. He has not received a denial letter yet. But they had sent me a letter since he is staying with me. They asked me if he is responsible for buying his own food or does he eat with my kids and I. Maybe they are waiting on my response to send him anything in the mail. I get a small amount of food stamps for my children. Truth is if I cook he will eat with the kids and I. But he is really in need of medical right now and the free clinic makes you fill out a application and its a 3 month waiting list. What should I put my response as regarding to the letter from the caseworker so he might have a chance at getting the medical card? I am really worried about his health and this is a time when he needs a helping hand till he finishes school, then he will be able to get on the company insurance.I don't know if by saying he does eat with us our food stamps will be taken away even though he has no income. Just trying to help him out the most I can till he graduated and able to get his own stuff. Everyone needs help once in a while.I had paid for his school. He will pay my back once he gets on his feet. It wasn't that much. The day after he came I went down to the office and let my caseworker know.Thats the same time he filled out for a application for medical. moreOpen Question: feminists, feminism... mostly nuts?

So I'm 14 years old, 5' 2'' - 5' 3'', and I weigh about 115 pounds, I'm pretty sure you'd think this is pretty normal, but I want to get down to at least 100 or 103. So far, I've been jogging for about 40-60 minutes every morning when I wake up, another 30-45 minutes at around 3pm, and 60 more minutes in the evening. I try to eat foods with as little calories as possible, so I would be consuming about 600-800 calories a day--a mix of veggies and lean meat and rice, or whatever my mom cooks that day. I drink tons of water, and sometimes green tea. Do you think thats healthy? if not, what would you suggest? How long do you think it'll take me to lose weight if I keep this up? Well, he plays basketball on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So I didn't go watch him play on Tue and he texted me that night after the game and told me it would be bad to watch him play anyway cause he didn't play well. So then he said, "But perhaps tomorrow?" And then he told me he has to come to eat some food after work tomorrow. (cause we talked about making him dinner on Tuesday but he couldn't come because he had a meeting). So on Wednesday I asked him when he got off work so I could start to cook. Then he told me his buddy from other state was in town and his buddy told him he wanted to chill, so he has to rain check that again and told me he was so sorry. And of course he canceled the game because of that. So is he not interested anymore or actually something came up? Thanks a ton! I hope I won't be too clingy cause when he told me he was meeting up with his buddy to chill, then I told him, "Have fun with your friend!! :)) " moreOpen Question: fashion journalist queries..?

Hi, Over the past few weeks I have noticed this issue. One day I had something to eat (it wasn't anything hot, so I didn't burn the roof of my mouth) and directly afterwards felt something irritating/tickling on the back of my tongue, it was making me retch. I felt the roof of my mouth with my finger and found a spot (not sure how else to describe it, other than I originally thought it felt like a skin tag). It was right at the back of the roof of my mouth more to the left side. After a few hours I think it disappeared. Over the past few weeks I have noticed it happening again (it only happens/comes after I eat, but not EVERY time I eat). I will eat something and then feel this spot irritating the back of my mouth making me want to retch. One day, I actually felt it with the tip of my finger and put some slight pressure on it to see if it hurt (it didn't) and I heard a little popping sound! (a bit like when you pop a whitehead on your face), I checked my finger to see if there was puss, but it was clear, like water/saliva). After 'popping' the 'spot' the irritation disappeared and I checked to see if I could still feel it with my finger, but couldn't, the spot had gone. Anyway, this keeps happening most times when I eat (even non cooked foods) and is a little annoying. Today I popped it to stop it from making me gag, and again, no puss just clear fluid but I did have a tiny spec of blood on my cotton swab (I used that this time instead of my finger) after it had popped. Any idea what this might be? I'm not sure whether to see my doctor or dentist if this doesn't go away, it just keeps coming back when I eat sometimes. The 'spot' appears in the exact same spot each time is shows up too. I have no others coming up in my mouth, just that one after eating. moreOpen Question: Marriage Help-about to divorce?
This is a little long. I met my husband in the court system, we are both recovering addicts with about 5 yrs. clean each. When we met, we were kinda poor. I was working and he wasn't, finally he found work as a roofer. I had a son from 1st marriage. The ex abandoned us and is now in prison for years. My son accepted my current husband as his dad, we were all very happy and in love. We were living as a family when my husband told me that he had lied about ever being in a relationship, prior to ours. I overlooked it, because I loved him so much and figured no big deal. Anyway, he got a job offer 300 miles south from all of our family and friends, I didn't give it a second thought, we all moved together and our daughter was born in February. Things went downhill in the pregnancy-husband gained weight and seemed depressed, the job overtook his entire life and he started being negative about every little thing. Then he completely stopped initiating any kind of relations with me, or affection. It began to take a toll on how I felt about myself. The marriage started hitting the rocks about 2 mos. ago. Anyway, we go on this business trip and I figured it would be a good time to work on the marriage. I was so wrong. The entire time, my husband was fixating on what his colleagues thought of him, and he started treating me as if he were embarrassed of me, because we met while on probation together. He would not take me out of the room, and he wouldn't touch me. He slept any time he was around me. We went nowhere together hardly, and any time he talked to someone he knew, he would just let me stand there like a stranger. Finally he let it slip that he thought I'd embarrass him. I don't understand this because I wouldn't have- I don't believe that there's anything terribly wrong with me, but he made me feel like there was. I mean I'm attractive, have been to college, stay in shape, have loved him whether or not he was sweeping floors somewhere or has a salaried position. I cook, clean, raise 2 kids, and am responsible for all of the intimacy in our marriage. At one point, I started to leave and he asked me to leave the keys, so he could get food and tobacco, even though I was going to have to walk 150 miles, without a dime in my pocket. I am heartbroken. My ex once tried to come back while I was already dating my husband, my ex had plenty of money and we had a good friendship/intimate life-and I never once thought about leaving my current husband. I have and never would have treated him the way he's been treating me. I know he is not cheating, but I am heartbroken, and feel so trapped. I don't see how I can stay married to someone that treats me like the rest of his past that he's trying to hide. Any suggestions? He says he does not want to get a divorce, and I would like to avoid it, I still am in love with him, and want our family to stay together, but I can't if he goes on acting this way. moreOpen Question: how to avoid food craving?

I have been in two KFC's (one in FL and last night in OH) that don't have enough chicken cooked to take care of the demand. It was 6:00 pm, dinner time, and they had the drive-thru lined up and people inside standing around because they didn't have enough cooked. Wouldn't you think that around 4:30 you would start to prep for the dinner time rush? Can anyone who has worked at a KFC explain this? moreOpen Question: Where's a site that i can see a bunch of cooking recipes?
Well i'm completely and totally BORED! with the food in my house and its about time for a change, so i'm gonna start cooking, but where is a site where i can see a good number of cooking recipes, whether it be chicken, pasta, cakes, etc etc :D moreOpen Question: Can you please give me your opinion on my weight loss plan/diet?
This may be a little detailed for some but can you please bear with me as i really would like some honest opinions. I slowly put on weight during my final years of school because i stopped sports to study and my eating habits did slip to being unhealthy. My weight has been the same for about a year. I'm female, 18 and 167cm. I have been working full time for 7 months (earning money for uni). I work an average of 50 hrs a wk. my weight has remained constant over that time even though i have been off and on trying to eat healthy and exercise more. it has actually dropped 3 kgs since i left school. BUT i have noticed that i've lost muscle tone and put on fat on my stomach. this is because i find it hard to put exercise into my day given that 2-3 dys a wk i leave home at 7.15 am and get back at 9.15pm... with an hrs break between jobs in between. i am also prone to eating badly sometimes. So anyway... too now. I started the meal replacement diet optifast 5 days ago. I was 78kgs and now i am 73kgs. My diet consists of: 1/2 cup (uncooked) of porridge, made with water. 3x cups green tea 2x optifast shakes 2x cups raw vegetables about 1.5L water from the tap which is exactly what the optifast diet recommends minus 2 tsps oil (because i don't cook the vegetables) i feel okay but i am concerned at the rate of weight loss 1kg each day seems extreme to me. it makes me happy but i wonder if i am damaging my body? i know that people regain the weight after going on these crash diets but i am confident that i will not because i know how to eat well and i have made a decision to ditch the foods which i know were making me fat and also my working hrs are being reduced so i will have more time to exercise (i love bike riding and lifting weights). the quick results and convenience of this diet have made me more determined, positive and happy with myself. because i have been able to stick to the diet so far i feel more confident in my willpower. i feel like my attitude to eating has changed for the better. my friend even said that i sounded completely different and determined about my weight than ever before. i believe and have planned on eating right after i go off the shakes and having already lost weight i know that i don't need to eat bad food (where as before i would just say 'what the heck' and just eat it even though i know its not healthy). BUT after reading reviews on the internet i am concerned that its dangerous to do this diet. what is your opinion? I would appreciate it if you read the entire thing before giving a serious answer. thank you very much in advance to any serious answerers. moreOpen Question: Why can't I lose weight....details?
I'm 55-56 kg at the moment, heightwise 5'6"-5'7" I want to lose 3-4kg to fit into an old dress for a family function, but somehow can't. I eat about 1200 cals a day normally, of good foods - veggies, eggs, yoghurt, fruits, cheese, wholemeal bread, bran cereal, some pastas (I'm vegetarian). I don't even really like 'junk foods', occasionally I'll have gelato or a scone or something, so don't often eat them. I don't eat out, I cook all my own stuff. I do yoga for an hour a day, 5 days a week and usually walk for an hour every day. I alternate the intensity so I do get a good work out every time. I'm reasonaly active in general, but there's a number of harder physical activities I can't do due to ongoing spinal and feet injuries, e.g. stress fracture in my spine. Any ideas? moreOpen Question: two teens having a romantic picnic together and i don't know what to make!?
so im going to be surprising my boyfriend with a picnic and im not the best cook so im just looking for simple food recipes that can go well with our dessert (chocolate dipped strawberries) i could really use some help please! moreOpen Question: What should you do when someone visits you randomly just before you eat?
...and you don't have enough food to feed them, your partner, and yourself? One of our friends did this once. We were having leftovers for supper, so there was JUST enough for me and my husband. Hubby felt it was rude (and so did I, actually) not to ask him to stay for dinner, since the pan was being heated up when he arrived. So, I shared it out on three plates. While we ate, the guy commented that it was nice, but that he felt as though he was compromising our dinner. We both said, 'No,no, no, of COURSE not!' but inside I thought, 'Then why not refuse the invitation in the first place, if you feel THAT badly.' In my family household as a child, if someone came over when the family was about to eat, we would politely move from the table and delay eating. We'd offer them a cup of tea/coffee and some snacks while they were with us, and the guest themselves would understand that they should make their visit relatively quick. Such a situation ALWAYS ended with the guest voluntarily saying, 'I'd better go and let you have your meal,' without being forced out or made to feel unwelcome by us. That was just the way it went - no unnecessary discomfort. However, in both my husband's and our friend's culture, it's polite of the host to offer 'something' whenever anyone visits you. This can be tea and snacks (which I did offer first and he refused), another kind of drink, maybe alcoholic (also offered that and he still refused), OR staying on for dinner if it is imminent (our last option). Our friend always makes enough for an army, which is fine for him - there are 3 salaries in his house, but only 1 in ours. Sometimes we eat home-cooked leftovers, and there's not enough for any Tom Dick or Harry who might turn up at the last minute as well. Are you obligated to serve someone who visits just as you're about to have dinner, and if not, how do you say that you're about to eat without sounding as though you hate them? The guy was clearly uncomfortable when he saw how we'd had to stretch our food to serve three, and yet he declined my earlier offers of refreshments. What should he have done, and what should we have done? I never know what to do in these situations. My husband's policy is always to ask the person to stay. That's very polite and usually gets a good response, but hubby is just as annoyed as me when he's hungry, which is how we feel after we've had to share our dinner unexpectedly with others! Please help me out. Do we have to start scheduling our meals to the minute so that people know when we'll be eating and may not have enough for them as well? We certainly didn't want to shove our friend out of our house, or say we wanted him to leave.Sorry it's long - the cultural differences need explaining, otherwise you won't have the full picture.me!: Did you not read the part where I said I offered tea AND snacks? He refused it, so what else could I have done? He knew we were eating soon, but he stayed anyway. What else could we say, but stay for dinner? moreOpen Question: is it safe to mix urinary alkalinizer powder in food?

I really want to eat sweet potatoes and acorn squash, but every time I try to eat them, I start to feel sick to my stomach and can't eat much. I have a similar, but much less severe reaction to cooked, but not raw carrots. No other fruits or vegetables have a similar effect on me. I suppose my reaction to these different foods may not be related, but it is so similar. I was wondering if the beta carotene or whatever makes these foods orange might be the culprit. Is this possible? Does anyone else experience this? moreOpen Question: Question about lunch meat while pregnant?
