Resolved Question: Are moles/beauty marks ugly?
I have a mole on the side of my lip. It's about the size of this O<--. It's dark brown with no hairs coming out of it. Should I get it removed? Would the mole removal surgery leave a scar? Thanks everybody:)x
moreVoting Question: should i keep this mole or not?? i really need to know what you think!?
this is what it looks like.
http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad9/kinkstresss/mola1.jpg
http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad9/kinkstresss/mola.jpg
my problem with it is i feel like it takes over my face... you cant hide something on your face, i feel like i might be sexier without it.
on top of all of that- this annoying hair grows on it and nowhere else. and its sooooo annoying to take care of, im not even a hairy kind of girl, and i dont ususally remember to bring tweasers everywhere i go, i feel unattractive,
im not even sure if lasic hair removal will perfom on a mole because isnt that a health risk?
but the reason i think i should keep it is because i've gotten a similar mole removed somewhere else and it left a big scar, i had it removed when i was like 12 and honestly, no lotion will ever get rid of that scar, it misshaped my skin.... i mean i guess i'd rather have a mole than a scar on my face.
moreResolved Question: Help with mole removing please!?
Hi there! I just recently turned 15 and I thought about removing my mole(s). Of course I'm not going to personally remove them myself, but rather go to a dermatologist or someone who may remove it for me. The moles aren't one of those raised moles are anything...it's more like a dark pigment that looks darker than your skin color....but they're supposedly called "beauty marks". To me on the other hand, they're an eyesore. They're right on my face and I don't like them one bit. What makes it worse is that fact that it's just out there..a type of "in your face" thing. I've been baring it for too long and I think I'm about to go crazy over it. I have this type of conscious where I feel as if everyone is staring at it! So I can't help the fact but feel bad about myself. I thought maybe if I remove them, I would have a better self-esteem. There are 6 of them which I would like to remove but 2 is the least I would go for. So what should I do? I've never gone to a dermatologist and I don't know whether if insurance would cover for it or not. I heard that if it's for cosmetic reasons then insurance won't help. Is it true? So should I be the one having the insurance or my parents? How can I get an appointment with a dermatologist? How much would the visits cost? How much would the removal of the moles cost? (I live in Dallas, TX) Is there any special cost per mole? Where can I find a place? Is there a high percentage of me having a scar after that? What type of mole removing method works best? Of course, not too expensive it's not like if I can afford and I don't want to put too much burden on parents. If perhaps a scar is left, I want to get a scar revision. How much would that likely cost? Then if not, which scar removal creams works best after the removal? Last but not the least, how can I convince my parents if they said no? I'm not sure if race has anything to do with this, but my parents are Asian and they're strict. They mostly oppose everything that I want to get done or do. Anyway, thank you for you help! ^^Please look at them from my point of view Plus I need your help and advice not for your opposition. If there's any personal experience please share them with me, they would be quite helpful, thank you!
moreResolved Question: is it sore tattooing over a scar?
i have a small ( maybe 1cm circle) keloid scar on my upper arm, sounds so silly becasue its small, but i am so so sefl concious about it, i have worn anything without sleeves since i was 16. It was a mole removal. I really want to cover it somehow and figured a tatto might do it? would it work?
Please no mention of bio oil or scar removal creams etc, it is a keloid scar so is raised and cannot be treated by anything or than surgery, however this can also make it far worse so i would prefer to go for the tattoo option.
Thank you for any answers!

moreResolved Question: Help! How do i convince my mom to let me remove it?!?!?
Right under the right side of my nose and above my lip i have this tiny mole or whatever! It's really small and not very noticable but its been bugging the crap out of me for 4 years! My mom took me to the dermatologist to ask about removal but my dad wouldn't give the okay for insurance to pay for it, he covers my insurance. Well i found a product called dermatend, among other products, that remove it with minimal to no scarring, i researched like crazy and found that dermatend worked the best! It's organic, not very expensive (compared to surgery its not), and according to reviews it works great! I asked my mom about it and she said no. Apparently, i can permanently alter my face when im 18. It's so small i don't see how it's a big deal! I said i'd pay for it myself, which i will, and i told her the reasons why, It's my biggest insecurity! When i look in the mirror it's all i can look at! It's dropped my confidence to an all time low and my self esteem is dropping almost as fast! As i got older the more it bugged me and the more i noticed it! IVE BEEN OBSESSING OVER IT! I explained this in a calm way and i've been asking and i left her to decide. After i begged her to at least think about it i left. The next day when she came to my room i asked her if she's made her decision and she said no!! What do i do?!?! PLEASE HELP ME CONVINCE HER THAT I NEED TO DO THIS! ITS MAKING ME CRAZYYYYYi cant say im being bullied cause then she'll say "why do you care what idiots think about you!" Tried it....yes he does have to give approval, we tried doing it without his permission but they said we would need his signature
moreResolved Question: How to get rid of pink scars from mole removal?
I used this on flat moles on my face. I regret doing it now. It looked better with the flat moles. Sure they're gone now, but what if left is pink marks and are bigger than the moles. It's been 7 months. I hate it so much. I've been wasting money buying stuff to make it go away, but nothing seems to work. Please help me. It's pink and and they change from pink to red. It depends on things. Like when I shower it will be red or if I'm out in the sun, but I wear sunblock for it. When I feel like its going away when its like light pink then it changes to red. Theres no indention, but it kinda looks like it does. The indention isn't big at all or deep, but it might be a very small slight indention. Does that mean I'm red for life?! The link to the product is below.

moreResolved Question: How do I see a dermatologist (U.K.) regarding cosmetic concerns?
I'd like to see a dermatologist to ask his or her opinion on cosmetic procedures like the ones offered by laser clinics etc, so how do I do this?
I've heard that you need to go through your GP first, but can I ask my GP to refer me to a dermatologist for cosmetic reasons, rather than medical?
I also don't know whether to tell them about my mental health, as I suffer from depression and social anxiety, and I have heard that cosmetic practitioners do not like operating on people with 'unstable mental health', for obvious reasons, though I myself am quite realistic on the limitations of cosmetic procedures.
However, because I have very little money and want the procedure done as soon as possible - I go to uni in October - would it be better to tell my GP the reason I want the procedure? I have heard that - on an unrelated field - that mole removal can be done cosmetically at no cost on the NHS if the patient is self-conscious about it and the scarring that could be left by a basic excision (how it is done on the NHS...). Would this be similar for cosmetic laser surgery do you think?
Any advice greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance. To Hannah:
I'm not looking for mole removal, it was just an example of the difference between 'medical' ie: necessary for your physical health, and 'cosmetic' ie: preferable for your image/self-esteem.
Basically I have serious dark circles beneath my eyes and horrible skin in general really. I know that dark circles are difficult to treat and probably impossible to remove completely, so I am looking for treatments that can improve them and the surrounding skin too. And yes, it is severely affecting my confidence and social life.
Do you know how long it would take to see a dermatologist after referral, and how long to get treatment after seeing the dermatologist? I go to uni in October so I am quite desperate to a) have the treatment before then, and b) be at least significantly healed, if not completely.
oh and 'laser treatment' means like the one offered here: http://www.nottinghamlaserclinic.com/lasersurgery.htm
thanks for your help!

moreResolved Question: Natural Mole Removal - proper procedure?
I've done a great deal of research on this. Like many, I have no money in which to invest (or risk in some cases) a 'professional' method of removing these ugly things. I've heard a great deal about the apple cider vinegar method, but varying implementations..
Some say scratch the mole, some suggest simply putting the vinegar directly on and leave it on all night. Also, with the scratching, some suggest scratching it every night, others suggest scratching once.
Personally, I'd assume scratching it every time would aggravate the healing process and leave scarring.. but it would also allow the vinegar to access more of the mole.
So, the short version is.. does anyone know the proper process with ACV?
In my personal case, I'm fairly certain none of my moles are dangerous. This is - for me - purely cosmetic. I'm going to try a mole on my side as a test. Scratch once, and putting ACV on it. I'll see how that goes, but if anyone could shed some light it would be greatly appreciated.

moreResolved Question: Does Dermatend actually work?
Hey, I have a eraser sized mole on the small of my back. It is VERY embarrassing in a swim suit. I am 14, and this year I am graduating from junior high, so there are going to be many pool parties. I have seen many products like dermatend online, but i'm not convinced that they work. I have gone to the dermatologist and she said it wasn't cancerous and that the only reason I would remove it was for cosmetic reasons. I have heard of the pain involving mole removal and it will leave a nasty scar. I don't understand if these mole removing creams are real, why aren't they more popular and why didn't my dermatologist recommend it? Is there any side effects? and my dad is a doctor, so i don't know if my parents will approve of this product because it is all herbal. I don't know how to tell my parents in a casual way either. I am going to spring break in 3 weeks so I want to come up with a solution soon for this mole! Please help a wary, stressed girl that needs help! And no fake replies please! And also how should I ask my parents? I don't know why, but its embarrassing!!! Should I say "Did you know that there are creams that can remove moles?" I just think it would be weird to bring it up out of the blue. But time is running up until my vacation! I need answers! Also, I've been researching Dermatend, and many people have been saying that it is made of blood root which is harmful and that other creams are better!
moreResolved Question: How do you get rid of embarrassing facial hair?
So I have one of the worst issues a woman could have. I noticed 8 years ago I had one hair that grew out of a mole on my chin, no big deal right. Well I gained a ton of weight and begain to grow black hair all over my under chin like a man almost :( My doctor then told me I needed to lose weight and tested me for Cystic Ovarian syndrome which came back negative. Well that was five years ago, Ive lost all of that weight and maintained a healthy weight for three years and Im still growing black hair and its getting to the point where I think everyone is looking at my neck/chin. Ive tried waxing, too expensive and I cant do it myself, Ive tried bleaching but the hair seems to coarse to bleach, Ive tried hair removal creams which burn and make me break out, Ive tried shaving, well that just makes me feel even less feminine that Im shaving in the shower fast as I can before my husband see me and finnaly the one I do most, I pluck them, this is so time consuming, I can never get them all and now its leaving what looks like scars from where I pull the hair. Please help!!!! I think Im fairly pretty and this makes me so insecure even though no one has ever pointed it out to me.
moreResolved Question: Which 'mole removal at home' product to use?
I have researched this for several weeks and came across 4 main products. Can anyone comment on how effective each is, and perhaps
which is the best?
The four products in no particular order:
Bio T
Dermatrend
Mole & Wart EZ Clear
Wart & Mole Vanish.
Personally, I would look more towards buying one of the last three products, as Bio T apparently removes a large amount of skin and may leave a bigger scar. Also, I am also not as attracted by the EZ Clear as I am by the Vanish and Dermatrend products (just expressing my feelings here, I don't really know which is the best). So please, someone help me out.

moreResolved Question: Mole removal questions and concerns.?
So I have a mole on my face, my chin, thats not a big one, but certainly not small.
Technically its two that are sorta merged together... weird.
Anyways I was looking up signs that a mole might be cancerous, and I fit these descriptions:
-Mole is elevated from the skin.
-Mole has blurred edges.
-Mole is larger than the size of the eraser of a pencil (mines barely bigger)
-Mole's color isn't the same through out.
Which doesn't look good considering that's 4/5 of the signs on web MD.
**The other thing is- I don't like it**
Please don't try to change my opinion on myself.
The mole doesn't look good. There is no "I think it looks good on you." Its an ugly mole. I don't like it.
So If, or better yet when I get it removed, I am wondering some things:
-Does it scar easily? Its not a big mole, keep that in mind.
-How long does the healing process take?

moreResolved Question: Carrying on from the other mole question: Urgent please help regarding mole removal?
I've asked a question similar before but, I have a mole right on the crease above my lip and underneath my nose.
Its unsightly but not terrible. Its about medium sized.
I absolutely hate it and I am very self concious when it comes to my looks. I've spent nearly £500 on makeups that claim they work when in actual fact they dont. I have requested refunds but they have all said no. :(
I desperately want it removing, if possible laser surgery because it is supposed to have less scarring.
I'd prefer to have a scar than a mole, but different people keep telling me there oppinion, some say, yeah its fine you may get a tiny scar but after a while it will heal, like mine, and so on, and so many people say there mole removal has been successful, but some people say they have ended up worse off, and that they have developed keloid scarring, its gone infected and horrible and i'm stuck on what to do.
I am pretty desperate because i get very down because of it.
What should I do? HELP! xxxx

moreResolved Question: Mole removal scar?
OK, i had a mole on my thigh that i wanted removed so i got some natural mole removal cream and after about 3 weeks it was gone, But it has left a red mark where the mole was removed from. I looked on the manufacturers website and it showed you the removal process in pictures, there was a picture that was labelled healing and it looked the same as what my leg looked like so i assumed that the skin was healing but it has been around 8 months since the mole was removed and still no change to the skin. So i emailed the manufacturer about a week ago and they suggested a healing cream like neosporin.I just want to see if anybody else has experienced the same sort of thing and if anyone has any advice on what i should do.
moreResolved Question: I had some moles removed now I have noticed lots of tiny moles all over me and my face. Is this related?
I used a a cream which removed moles in one go, and it worked great. I have had about 5 removed on my face with no scars unless you look closely. It does however involve scratching the mole surface before applying the cream and it bled when I had to scratch it.
I have now noticed a lot of little moles (2mm) all over me within a year, over 100 or so. I don't mind them so much as they are so tiny. I am only 21, and moles will still grow as I am relatively young.
Do you reckon the mole removal is related to the new moles?
moreResolved Question: Scar after mole removal on face?
So yeah I had a mole removed on my face(it wasn't deep in depth much at all LUCKILY so there's no indentation or anything..) and it's healed great. One thing though, it's still a little red (like a little reddish dot). It was more red before and I think as time is passing by it's becoming lighter.. But i was just wondering will the scar/place where I got my mole removed always be reddish - or is it still healing slowly to become a normal fleshy color? I hear it takes at least 6 months to a year for the scar to become normal again? Thanks for the input in advance.
moreResolved Question: Plastic Surgery Makeover?
I'm 15 (turning 16 in January) and I plan on get plastic surgery. I hope to be totally finished by the time I'm 20 or 21. Do you think my reasons are good? Also how much would this cost? Can anyone give me some advice?
I'd like to get:
Breast Implants: I'm a C cup but I'd like to be a D or DD because I'm taller and muscular. Also my breasts are heavy and they've been the same size since I was in elementary school so they sag horribly. They have no shape whatsoever.
Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty: I have my dad's nose and I don't want to look like him (because he's not a great person). Also I've had severe sinus problems since I was a child.
Arm Lift: I had to take steroids for asthma and now that I'm losing weight, the stretch marks will look even more horrible than they do now so it'd be easier to have one long scar than stretch marks from my armpit to my elbow.
Mole Removal: Obviously because moles aren't pretty and I don't want to get skin cancer or anything.
Continued...Ear Reduction/Scuplting: My ears are big and my ears were pierced in the wrong place in the lobe when I got them pierced at age 2.
Lip Augmentation: My lips are too thin for my face in my opinion and uneven. Also I bit off part of my upper lip a few years ago and it never grew back.
Botox: My left eyebrow twitches and makes my eyebrow resemble Jack Nicholson's because it gets so high.
Chemical Peel: On my arms to remove freckles. I don't go in the sun and those freckles won't disappear.
Toe Reduction: Simply because I'm virtually OCD about having things be symmetrical and I hate that one toe is out of line.
Blepharoplasty: To make my eyes more slanted. I have almond shaped Caucasian eyes.
I don't know if this surgery exist but I'd like to get a hair transplant to create a widow's peak on my hair line. Also I may consider butt implants if my slims down to much as I lose weight.
Continued...Dental:
Tooth Extraction: I need my left bottom eye tooth removed because I was born without three adult teeth (one of them being my right bottom eye tooth) so it throws off the symmetry of my mouth.
Invisible Braces: They work quicker than regular braces and my teeth are crooked. They wanted to break my jaw when I was younger to fix my teeth but my mom didn't want them to do it.
Veneers: My teeth have lost a lot of enamel over the years and nothing is going to fix them but veneers.
I've suffered from dental problems since I was a child. Also don't say "Be happy with yourself." or anything like that.I'm not unhappy with myself. No one (aside from my family) has ever called me ugly. I just don't like my features. I'm not self-loathing or anything. I just have an idea of beauty and I want that. Also things like the breast implants, I deserve that because my breasts sagged before I even got to wear bikinis or anything so I kinda got robbed on my youth there. I know they'll sag in the future but that doesn't mean I have to have horrible looking ones now. It's not a joke. And I don't like freckles on my type of complexion. They've never suited me. Freckles are cute when you're young but not so great to have when you're older. All the surgies I want are extremely common.
Breast Implants- It's hard to find a natural pair of anything larger than a B cup in America.
Eye slanting- Extremely common in Italy (My family's Italian) just like getting double eyelid surgery in Asia is common (even for 4 and 5 year olds).
Botox- Getting botox injected into the muscle is common to stop twitching.
Ears -A lot of people get their ears fixed. Brad Pitt had his ears pinned back for example.
Lips- I didn't mean to bite off part of my lip. They just got really cracked and part of them came off and it changed the shape of my lips.
Mole Removal- No one wants skin cancer. And looking like I want will make me happy. I have no desire to look like me anymore. I'm not trying to look like everyone else. This is what I consider beautiful (even when I was younger and didn't know what plastic surgery was). Also I've had a hard life so far. I deserve some kind of compensation for putting up with it all. It's not like I'm small and underdeveloped. My doctors say there's virtually no chance I'm going to get any taller or that my breasts will get any larger or anything. I've looked the same since I was like 12. I'm 5'8 ft and my mom is short so I doubt I'll get any taller. And my C cups don't look like C cups because they sag so badly. And I'm not some stupid teenage girl who says she needs surgery but deep down, believes she's the most beautiful thing on the planet. I'm a realist. I'm not asking for breasts like Pamela Anderson's or anything. Just breasts that look decent. I have stretch marks and sagging skin on my breasts from them developing too quickly. Also stretch mark creams do not work. Neither do firming creams. Also it's not that I want big breasts. I just want the lift and fullness implants would give me and fill out the exta skin. Also it's completely unfair that I got basically got robbed of youthful features because I was sick and things that were out of my control. I was literally on the verge of having my body shut down so I could either take steriods or die. The steriods made me gain a hundred pounds and caused stretch marks all over my body. My stomach, my butt, my waist (all the way around), my knees, my thighs, my arms (from my armpit down to my elbows) and my breasts. I shouldn't have to look old before I actually am.I don't plan on getting anything major until after I'm 18. And I have the money to pay out of pocket. I know a doctor won't do major surgery before I'm of age. I'm not getting a hundred surgeries or anything. Just a few. And because my breasts are heavy, implants will help with the support and give them more form. Also my breasts are uneven which cause me to slump even more so.And my dad's a drug dealer. I don't want to look like him. My family constantly tells me I look like my dad and it's not in a good way that they tell me. They say it with hate and spite in the voice so naturally I don't want to claim a relationship to him except on my birth certificate.

moreResolved Question: About a year ago I got my birthmark removed???
I got it removed because I hated that it was a bit bigger than my other moles and I hated that ugly black hair coming out of it. I mean those brown flat moles. But after the removal I got a cordeia type of a bumpy scar with a bit of my birthmark still left and this horrible scar is on my left arm. Does anyone notice scars on people and think that they are ugly. My doctor said that if I get it removed again; all it will become is a bigger scar. What can I do? I need some feedback because this bothers me because there is no way to get rid of a scar and also does this affect my appearence? Am I the only one with a birthmark scar yes or no? and please explain.

moreResolved Question: What is the best method for mole removal.?
I was always afraid that once its done it will look worse than before, like a scar or a spot of skin missing. I don't want it to be super obvious that someone took a piece of my face off lol. What should I know? laser? freeze? after care? I have ho problem doing it but If I will do it i wanna do it right , did anyone have it done and there was no visible scar or barely anything noticeable.? How much would it be for one ( cash) ,around? Who should i talk to? dermatologist or surgeon ? How long do you have to wait for it to fully heal?
moreResolved Question: Which type of mole removal would be best for me and how should I go about it?
My life has been destroyed by moles on my face. I have 14 dark brown or black moles on my right side of my face and 10 on the left side. I have many light brown spots as well. I am 20 year old male and I am extraordinarily self conscious about them. I have no friends because I look like a total freak with a totally abnormal number of moles. I have white skin and am otherwise normal. I have no money but I am going to take out a loan from my parents in order to finance this since I simply can't stand being so ugly by something which is entirely fixable. Pretending money isn't an issue, which type of surgery is least likely to result in a scar? remember this is my face so I really want to make sure that the cure isnt worse than the disease (the scar isnt bigger or more noticeable than the moles). Is laser or surgery the better option? Can lasers remove moles that are cone shaped and deep in skin?
moreResolved Question: Scar from mole removal?
I had a mole on my neck removed about two weeks ago. The wound is pretty much healed up there is no scab or anything, but the area is still dark red. I was just wondering how long it will take for the area to fade back to a normal skin color???
