Voting Question: Dry skin and horrible acne and acne scars...?
When I was younger, I only had the occasional spot here or there, but now I am almost 20 and my face has broken out all over my cheeks and a little on my forehead and chin. It's completely horrible and I have tried acne medication, but my skin is already very dry so it dries it up even more. Recently, I have switched to more natural remedies, like washing face with honey and using potato skin for acne scars, but I am seeing little improvement.
I don't want to go back to using chemical filled acne treatments or lotions because they always dry my skin out, so is there anything else I can try that might help clear my skin quicker without drying it out and that will get rid of the acne scars?
Help much appreciated. I am truly getting frustrated with my skin!
P.S I don't know if this matters, but my skin is not too light and not too dark. It's in between. Medium colored. And again, very dry skin.
Thanks!

They're not raised or anything..just kind of red..a darker colour than the rest of me and it'd probably take a year to fade on its own. I used to have really bad acne. Now I'm on a hormonal treatment to help with the blemishes, but it doesn't help at all with my black heads and enlarged pores. And i have scars from picking at my face when i was younger(my acne developed at a young age). I've tried warm honey for my pores, but it didn't really work. I haven't found anything I feel comfortable using for my black heads(I don't want any harsh chemical washes). I've tried ProActiv, but it stopped working after a little while. I really need something to help with my scars, black heads and enlarged pores, seeing as these are my major problems. I'm only 15 and don't have much money to spend on products, so natural home remedies will be perfect. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!-i've tried neutrogena facials washes; all left my skin dry and irritated.
-i don't want a cover-up solution; it's for my personal benifit, not others'.

I am in desperate need to clear the sides of my face from post-acne scarring. I am looking for cheap and effective products. Although I prefer it be natural, I'll take any suggestions. I do not want laser treatments, etc., or anything that requires me to see a doctor.
moreVoting Question: What is the best treatment to get rid of my acne/acne scars?
I have tried so hard to get rid of them to the point it's getting ridculous.
I use
-Lemon Juice
-Raw Natural Honey
-Tomato Juice
-Sandalwood
-Basin
-Tumric
-Rose Water
-Lime Juice
-Egg Whites
-Yogurt
-Ice
I make a paste with all that if I dont have time to do each one individually.
I haven't been doing all it for long, but I started the Basin and Sandalwood awhile back. I just want to get rid of my acne/ance scars and have a clear face. It is so frustrating because all my other friends have perfect faces and mine just can not compare. Yea I got scars because I am a popper but I just can seem to stop. I have no idea what to do. I also can not do anything to expensive, and right now I'm stay natural but all suggestions are welcomed! Natural or not I just want to have a clear face again.

When i was younger i had terrible acne. Now i am older it is gone even though i still get the odd pimple or two. I have quite a lot of scars from the acne. Being from Australia it gets hot and my face would get really oily therefore promoting the acne. I've heard of people using certain natural oil creams and things like that to help the scars be less visible. I don't want to go through laser treatment or anything i was just wondering if anyone could tell me some good cream or remedies that may help with them?

Since I was fifteen I've had it, and I've got scars deciding to make their permenant home my back. I've tried olive oil, special soap, soaking, but nothing seems to help. moreResolved Question: would a primer help with this?
I have acne. Not bad. I started a new treatment so it's pretty mild now. Now it's mostly scars and some zits here and there depending on the day.
Anyways, when I do my make up by the end of the night it always looks bad. Something it just doesnt look natural, it makes my pores look worse, and it makes me skin look oily.
Sometimes it looks perfect! But a lot of times, I have a problem.
Would primer help with this?
I don't know what a primer does because I've never used one.
Would it help cover my pores and make my face look more natural when I put on foundation?

My skin is oily all over. I breakout mostly underneath my chin, jawline and temples.
Right now I'm using L'Oreal's Go 360 Clean Cleanser, St. Ives Apricot Scrub and Clearesil Spot Treatment. My face is starting to get itchy around my lips. What should I do?
I read a lot of magazines and their tips for women in their 20's is to start anti-aging products now so skin will look better in the future. But afraid of pores clogging up with acne treatments, night creams, eye creams, neck creams and all the other things that are supposed prevent wrinkles in the future. What should my nighttime regimen be so that my skin will look its best?
Make-up. I like the natural look- little foundation, blush, lipstick, mascara and eyeliner. Once again I get these things from magazines. Primer, Foundation, Concealer. Where does sunscreen go in that order? What is the best foundation formula for oily/acne skin? Concealer?

moreResolved Question: What type of makeup and skin treatments work for worn out skin?
I am an eighteen-year-old female that started erupting acne ever since I've been ten years old. Around the age of twelve, after using various acne medications, I became embarrassed about my complexion. I then began using concealer to cover the scars and pimples. One main issue was that I'd always pick and pop at my acne which I am now trying to stop because of the outcome of my skin. Since I have acne, I use a great amount of concealer and powder-based bronzer to cover my appearance. My skin is not terrible whatsoever, but since I am at such a young age, I know that I can fix the problem before it becomes worse. I have a few scars from acne and my skin seems to have a flabby texture from all the makeup. I am trying to minimize use of makeup. I want to start applying very little makeup to give me a natural look. I'm tired of caking everything on my face. I have now stopped picking at my face and was wondering what kind of products I can buy at the store or order that will begin to fix my complexion? I was also wondering if there is a specific ingredient I should avoid using when I browse for makeup?
Thank you.Thank you so much for your help! I will definitely check out the website :)Thank you very much, Selinaar.
I appreciate and I will put all of your tips into consideration. They sound very beneficial because they are all natural and cost-free suggestions. Thank you again!

Hair & skin questions... ANSWER THEM!!! XD?
Ok I have a few questions. I could've looked around and found my answers but it made more sense to ask them all at the same time get my answers all at once.
My first question is how do I get rid of discolored acne scars, I've either heard or saw somewhere where the person said the the only way to do this is through laser treatments (which I don't have the money for and EVEN IF I DID I still wouldn't do it)
Secondly, how do I get rid of the darkness on my elbows and knees? And don't tell me to scrub anything, because it won't work :).It's not THAT noticeable by others (at least I don't think) but I still don't like it.
Lastly, when making the transition from permed hair to natural hair what hair styles do you recommend? My hair is only like 2 or 3 inches and I decided to "Go natural" just yesterday. :) Yay Go me?? And I'm TRYING not to hot comb (or straighten comb) my hair or get a perm, so what are some cute hairstyles are out there? I actually have new growth but I do not want to do a BC (big chop) and wear a TWA (teenie weenie afro)... at least not for 5 months (school will be over and then I'll see how long my hair is...THEN I'll do the BC)
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! XD

moreVoting Question: Is this a good skincare regimen?
My skin is just really irritating me because of the red bumps that im getting. Mostly i get them on my chin and they will have white heads. So i threw away all my salysic acid and benzoil peroxide acne washes and creams. They were destroying my skin and i felt they did nothing to help me. My skin is pretty sensitive and fair. Also it is unevenly toned and when i get acne scars they show really bad. But anyways now ive started a gentler solution. Im starting to wash my face two times a day with neutrogena visibly even foaming cleanser that cleans skin gently and helps to even out skin tone. Since my skin is pretty oily i also use natural dickinson witch hazel astringent after i wash and throughtout the day. Do you think that this sounds like a good plan? Also i am going to start taking oral acne treatments as soon as i get a perscription from my doctor.

Okay. So I have really oily skin. Like, ridiculously oily. I get a lot of blackheads on my forehead, nose, and chin. My chin and nose sometimes get cracked and dried up when I get sunburned, been in chlorine from the pool all day, or used aggressive acne treatments. I often get pimples anywhere, not just in the t-zone area. I have acne scars and A LOT of freckles. My skin is blotchy, and quite sun damaged. I want my skin to be less oily, I want less blackheads, I want less acne, I don't like my acne scars, I don't necessarily like my freckles, I'd like my skin to be less blotchy and more even-toned, and less sun damage. Can anyone help? I'm looking for a cleanser, exfoliates, toner, day moisturizer, night moisturizer, face masks, foundation, and concealer. Please help!
Preferably natural, and inexpensive products, please. Although, I can save up on money.

heyyyy; okay so basically i'm fourteen years old. i'm a teenage girl,
i had my period for 8 months, and since i was twelve i've been getting pimples, but when i was twelve it was just a few, and some blackheads, now, i have VERY oily skin, with loads of blackheads on my nose and under eye area, and a few pimples on my face.
i have severe back acne for about 9 months.
i've tried clearasil, vinegar, pan oxyl, and other things i can't think of.
at the moment i've come to the conclusion that over the counter products dont work, and i think natural products do.
i'm now using tea tree oil on my face & back, (face really clearing up)
& 99.9% pure aloe vera gel for my scars. its early days yet, so i cant
judge my back yet, as it is so severe and i understand it takes time.
but heres the bit i need help on: my diet.
when i was younger, since the age of 11, i had a yeast infection,
and thrush, suffered with dandruff, still do, all because of my diet which was full of chocolate, sugary sweets, you name it, i ate it.
so now, i believe i'm paying for it, with my severe back acne.
i want to detox my body from the candida and hopefully clear the infection and the back acne, i'd like a detailed description of things i should do for this and what to eat and not to eat.
PS: i take zinc supplements, chromiom pilconate, vitamin c, probiotic tablets, milk thistle, and super 5's.
Thank you. PPS: not open to medical acne treatment.

moreResolved Question: What are the best natural skincare products for acne-prone skin?
My skin is combination, sensitive (as in I am prone to dryness, breakouts, and severe hives), and very acne prone. I just began to use Dr. Bronner's Magic soap (diluted, of course!) on my face. It cleans very well, but now that I have an organic soap, I figured I may as well opt for an organic toner, moisturizer, and spot treatment.
For a toner, I'm assuming it will need to be witch hazel based, but I'm not sure if I should just use Dickinson's or something else (Thayer's?)
For a moisturizer, all I need is something that will keep my face soft and moist and not break me out. That's always the tough one to find :(
For a spot treatment I know I'll need tea tree oil, but what is the best brand?
Thanks in advance!

moreResolved Question: Which cleanser/products should I purchase?
I washed and waxed my uncle's truck this past weekend, and he gave me $35. I save the small weekly allowance that I get, and because I'm in need of some new skincare products, I wanted to head over to my local Walgreens to buy me a new cleanser, and possibly a few other products. Walgreens is also great because I'm only 16 and dig great deals!
I have pretty normal skin, but this past year I moved from a dry climate to a humid climate. Before my skin was pretty much perfect, and I'd break out once or twice every couple of months. Now, I always have little flesh-colored bumps around my chin, there are blotchy spots and pinkish scars, and I've been getting very painful, large cystic pimples. I've tried quite a few products, I've tried not using anything, and so far nothing works. All the cleansers I have tried do nothing to prevent the acne, so I'm really wanting to find a good cleanser.
Which cleanser should I purchase: 'Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser' or 'Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Cleanser'?
If you have any other suggestions, that would be great!
I was also going to purchase 'Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment', as it has received excellent reviews. The 'Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque' has good reviews as well, and is pretty cheap.
Any comments about these products?
So, would a good acne fighting/preventing routine be using one of the above cleansers, toning with witch hazel, applying oil-free moisturizer, and apply the 3-in-1 acne treatment twice a day? And then to exfoliate 2-3 times a week with St. Ives Apricot Scrub (this does nothing for my acne, but it leaves my skin really smooth and refreshed) and use the Mint Julep mask once a week and as a spot treatment overnight?
I'm trying to keep my routine a little more consistent and gentle then it's been lately, and I also want to get rid of these annoying, painful pimples without seeing a dermatologist!
Oh, and has anyone tried the mask sheets from The Face Shop? You can buy these from Walgreens now, and they look pretty interesting.
Any and all tips and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!I really don't have the money to buy anything expensive. If I could I would, but there is no way I have enough cash to splurge on stuff like that, nor do my parents.
I'm kind of stuck at Walgreens/Walmart here =/Right now, all I do is wash my face twice a day, and follow that up with an all natural witch hazel toner and an oil-free moisturizer. The cleanser is called PanOxyl, and it's the only acne product I've been using because most spot treatments are too harsh and make my skin itchy/red.
I'm a vegetarian, so I eat well.
Maybe it's just hormones. =[

To go more into detail about my skin, my skin gets very oily when I wear makeup, and only oily around my nose (and the cheek area surrounding my nose, but not my whole cheeks) without makeup. It dries out very easily, and most cleansers leave my skin with redness. The redness subsides after about an hour, but I do have to wash my face in mornings and I don't have time to really get up an hour earlier than I need to, lol. And, the worst part... I have acne. My worst problem is papules/pustules. I also have blackheads, and I know they are disgusting, but they aren't my worst concern. I also have scarring from past breakouts. I know my question is long, but thanks to anybody who can answer/help me. I really appreciate it, and my skin will too.
moreResolved Question: Should I switch skincare products?
I have very sensitive acne prone skin, naturally I was drawn to Neutrogena's Skin id system, which is a three step skin regimen "made just for me". I've been using Skin Id for over 7 weeks now. I have seen improvements on and off, but my skin is still not clear and it's still breaking out, right now especially for whatever reason. Usually I have some luck with the Skin Id spot treatment, but on this particular breakout, it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Previously, it took about two days to see some results with the spot treatment. I'm afraid my skin has gotten used to it. I just want my skin to clear up and without leaving nasty scars behind! I had confidence with this product in the beginning, but now not so much. My face looks awful right now. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to stop using Skin Id and try something different for awhile? I'm very picky about this kind of thing. Any suggestions would be of great help.
Some additional details:
I do everything in my power to keep my skin in good shape, Maintain a healthy diet (I stay away from sugar the best I can)
I make sure to use only oil free, natural makeup on my face.
I drink TONS of water.
Like, I said, EVERYTHING in my power to keep it under control.
Also, please do not suggest I use proactive, because I have, three times actually, it does not work.
moreResolved Question: natural treatment for acne marks & oily skin?
basically: i've suffered from moderate acne for the previous years, but it has grown to be mild. i've been using 100% tea tree oil to combat zits, and it seems to be very effective. i have oily skin which i believe is still considerably acne prone.
so what are some good essential oils or any other (affordable) ways to rid existing acne scars that is friendly to such skin like mine?
what may also be an effective way to decrease the oiliness of the skin?
i would love for as much information as possible, with reliable sources
all help would be greatly appreciated
thank you in advance!
moreResolved Question: Red marks left by spots after roaccutane (accutane)?
I finished my treatment of Roaccutane about 2 years ago, but i've noticed that since my treatment my skin has been much more prone to scarring. Not traditional acne scars (in sense that there is no indent) they are flat red marks. I had many of these left once I finished my treatment and it took more than a year for most of them to go. I now find that once I get a spot, even though the spot goes down, the red mark stays for a few months.
Originally i think the reason that my skin marked so easily was because it was very dry after the treatment and the natural oils weren't replenished so my skin could not heal. Because of this i started using Tea Tree oil moisturizer from the Body Shop and a few of their other products which have worked fairly well, but they still take a long time to go away. I'm reluctant to try apple cider vinegar and water (which is what many people recommend) because i think this is likely to make me break out in spots and i don't want to risk having a face full of red marks for the next 4 months.
So, after all that, anyone got any ideas of how I can get rid of them?
And if not, has anyone else had the same problem with roaccutane, as i know my sister has as well?
Thankyou for any help!
