Now, we've all heard about how tea tree oil is a natural treatment for acne. I'm sure you've scanned your local drugstore shelves for a small bottle. After a quick check of the two drugstores nearest me, I found only one Tea Tree Oil product. Hollywood Beauty Tea Tree Oil. Considering that it's the only kind of tea tree oil distributed in major drugstores, why aren't there more acne.org reviews on it? I did a little background check, and the ingredients seem to be okay. Full list of Ingredients: Soybean Oil , Tea Tree Oil , Safflower Oil , Vitamin E , Carrot Extract , Aloe Vera Extract , Rose Hips Oil , Peanut Oil , Sweet Almond Oil , Methylparaben , Isopropylparaben , Isobutylparaben , Butylparaben , Fragrance , D&C Red No. 17 , D&C Yellow No. 11 Soybean Oil is a good source of Vitamin E, which is supposed to clear up scars; Aloe Vera obviously helps with redness and healing, and Peanut Oil is (believe it or not) an ingredient in Accutane. Sounds promising, no? I guess my major question to you all is, have you used this product before? Did it help your acne? It seems to be working on my hair. more

okay, so recently i noticed i have oily spots on my forehead, cheeks & kind of the nose area. im not sure why i have these oily spots because i never had oily spots on my face. i am wondering why i have these oily spots. is it because its summer? or products im using on my face? also, are u suppose to use a moisturizer when u have oily skin? **i also sometimes have a little dry skin. Hi, I'm a 14 year old girl with acne scars, visible pores, and an uneven skin tone. I was wondering how I can correct this. I have made a new skin regimen for myself: -use a cleanser when I wake up and before bed -use toner after cleansing -moisturize with facial lotion after toning -exfoliate once a week -use a spot treatment on any pimples I might have before bed All of the products are part of the Burt's Bees Acne Solutions, which is made with natural ingredients and has salicylic acid, which is good for acne. A couple of years ago my acne got really bad. I was really stupid and picked and popped them and now they have left scars which I have had for probably 2 months now. I hate them covering pretty much all of my face and I can't do much about it. Spending loads of money on dermabrasion ot microdermabrasion is not really an option here but I guess it could be a last resort. They really affect my self esteem, especially around people when most people I know and see have reasonably good skin. I'm just so sick of putting makeup on everyday and see that it doesn't even cover it. I don't know how long it has been since I have had my photo taken or taken one myself because all I can see is the scars. Are there any natural or non-natural treatments that work really well reasonably quickly?? I am willing to wait a little longer, but I don't know how much more of it I can take. When I was a bit younger I used to have pimples on my chin forhead and nose, it was never acne. I have indian skin and when I was younger ( the idiot I was ) used to pinch my pimples. Voting Question: Best Mineral foundation? Liquid Foundation? Acne Scars, Dry & Oily Skin?

When I went to my dermatologist years ago, I was told that I have combination skin. I do have dry spots around my face but usually it is pretty dry all over my face. I do use moisturizer but after I play moisturizer it doesn't seem to do much except somehow disappear leaving my face in dry blotches anyway. I have some acne scars and some acne but with my new homeopathic treatment they are getting better very slowly. The problem that I am struggling with is Oil on my face. I did say that I majorly have dry skin but what I've noticed is that after I put on my regular liquid foundation (top it off with a veil and blush), my face looks great for the first 2-3 hours. Only afterwords does my face begin to oil a lot. I don't know why but then my face looks so shiny as if I've been sweating a lot and my foundation becomes runny and can rub off very easily. I don't want to put more of my foundation to cover up some spots that might have smeared off because then it starts looking too cakey. Now, I was doing some research on mineral foundation and how I heard that it is good for acne-prone skin, oily skin, etc. But when I think of mineral foundation I think of minimum-coverage. When I buy it and put it on I don't want to have a dry looking face and I dont want the coverage to be noticeable. Will it really cover my acne scars? Is the coverage that good? And will the foundation last long on my face? If so, what is the best Mineral Foundation out there? I've heard of Bare Escentuals (but that people break out after using it o_o), PUR Minerals, GloMinerals, Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup, Laura Geller, Organics (Professionals Formula which they sell at CVS), AVON mineral Makeup, Philosophy Mineral Makeup, L'Oreal's mineral makeup foundation + veil, Sheer Cover Mineral Makeup, Youngblood Mineral Makeup, etc. Which one of these creates the most natural look with good coverage? Okay listen to my story. When I was 10 or 11 I had acne and I was very impatient you probably could guess I got acne from stress. But I popped them I know stupid! I don't have that much acne, I was a fool and picked at my pimples, and now I have scars all around. I was in the car and saw a huge sign on the freeway about a laser treatment to remove acne and acne scars. My mother had a laser treatment done on her face, and nothing is wrong with her skin. I have acne and acne scars on my chin, forehead, and mostly scars on my cheeks. It's not insane acne. Just a pimple here and there. I got rid of my pimples past the time with natural things such as honey, etc. But I still have scars and stuff from picking at them, and I still do have acne. I want to get the laser treatment, but I'm not sure if it will ruin the skin on my face or cause skin cancer (I know kinda stupid, but I'm worried about cancer) or any other problems. Is it safe? And, dose it work? Please, if you have this done on yourself, can you tell me how it was like and the results? And if It's okay for semi-sensitive skin? Voting Question: What is a good natural home remedy to improve acne scars?

I have had breakouts since I was about 12 and every once in a while still do. What makes it worse is I have the habit (sometimes even unconsciously) of touching/picking at my face a lot and as a result my skin, if you look closely, has a lot of tiny craters and scars from the acne. My pores also seem to be getting bigger the older I get (I'm 25). My skin seems to fluctuate between being way too oily and way too dry. When I put on foundation it just seems to appear dry and flaky, even if I've used moisturizer first. Other times it feels like someone just poured oil on my forehead. I can't figure out how to get an even balance, but I just want to have the smoother skin I used to have even just a couple years ago. I would love to get microdermabrasion but I can't afford it right now. I would love to hear suggestions on how to smooth out my face with cheap store-bought items or simple home remedies. I've heard lemon juice helps, as well as Vitamin E oil. Any others? I'm not necessarily looking for acne treatment suggestions, as that's not my primary concern right now. I want to shrink the pores and craters on my face so it looks smoother. Even a little more expensive suggestions (but cheaper than microdermabrasion) would be appreciated! more

I used to have really bad acne, and my problem was I would pick at them and they would scab and i would pick at them again...I know, I shouldn't do that, so I got some acne treatment and my acne has been pretty clear for awhile. but its been months and I still have old scars. In past years in the summer the sun would fade them out, but I don't really want to wait till summer. I've tried acne treatments to fade them out, but it hasn't really worked. When I was younger, I only had the occasional spot here or there, but now I am almost 20 and my face has broken out all over my cheeks and a little on my forehead and chin. It's completely horrible and I have tried acne medication, but my skin is already very dry so it dries it up even more. Recently, I have switched to more natural remedies, like washing face with honey and using potato skin for acne scars, but I am seeing little improvement. I don't want to go back to using chemical filled acne treatments or lotions because they always dry my skin out, so is there anything else I can try that might help clear my skin quicker without drying it out and that will get rid of the acne scars? I am an eighteen-year-old female that started erupting acne ever since I've been ten years old. Around the age of twelve, after using various acne medications, I became embarrassed about my complexion. I then began using concealer to cover the scars and pimples. One main issue was that I'd always pick and pop at my acne which I am now trying to stop because of the outcome of my skin. Since I have acne, I use a great amount of concealer and powder-based bronzer to cover my appearance. My skin is not terrible whatsoever, but since I am at such a young age, I know that I can fix the problem before it becomes worse. I have a few scars from acne and my skin seems to have a flabby texture from all the makeup. I am trying to minimize use of makeup. I want to start applying very little makeup to give me a natural look. I'm tired of caking everything on my face. I could've looked around and found my answers but it made more sense to ask them all at the same time get my answers all at once. My first question is how do I get rid of discolored acne scars, I've either heard or saw somewhere where the person said the the only way to do this is through laser treatments (which I don't have the money for and EVEN IF I DID I still wouldn't do it) Secondly, how do I get rid of the darkness on my elbows and knees? And don't tell me to scrub anything, because it won't work :).It's not THAT noticeable by others (at least I don't think) but I still don't like it. Lastly, when making the transition from permed hair to natural hair what hair styles do you recommend? My hair is only like 2 or 3 inches and I decided to "Go natural" just yesterday. :) Yay Go me?? My skin is just really irritating me because of the red bumps that im getting. Mostly i get them on my chin and they will have white heads. So i threw away all my salysic acid and benzoil peroxide acne washes and creams. They were destroying my skin and i felt they did nothing to help me. My skin is pretty sensitive and fair. Also it is unevenly toned and when i get acne scars they show really bad. But anyways now ive started a gentler solution. Im starting to wash my face two times a day with neutrogena visibly even foaming cleanser that cleans skin gently and helps to even out skin tone. Since my skin is pretty oily i also use natural dickinson witch hazel astringent after i wash and throughtout the day. Do you think that this sounds like a good plan? Also i am going to start taking oral acne treatments as soon as i get a perscription from my doctor. more

Okay. So I have really oily skin. Like, ridiculously oily. I get a lot of blackheads on my forehead, nose, and chin. My chin and nose sometimes get cracked and dried up when I get sunburned, been in chlorine from the pool all day, or used aggressive acne treatments. I often get pimples anywhere, not just in the t-zone area. I have acne scars and A LOT of freckles. My skin is blotchy, and quite sun damaged. heyyyy; okay so basically i'm fourteen years old. i'm a teenage girl, i had my period for 8 months, and since i was twelve i've been getting pimples, but when i was twelve it was just a few, and some blackheads, now, i have VERY oily skin, with loads of blackheads on my nose and under eye area, and a few pimples on my face. i have severe back acne for about 9 months. i've tried clearasil, vinegar, pan oxyl, and other things i can't think of. at the moment i've come to the conclusion that over the counter products dont work, and i think natural products do. i'm now using tea tree oil on my face & back, (face really clearing up) & 99.9% pure aloe vera gel for my scars. its early days yet, so i cant judge my back yet, as it is so severe and i understand it takes time. but heres the bit i need help on: my diet. when i was younger, since the age of 11, i had a yeast infection, and thrush, suffered with dandruff, still do, all because of my diet which was full of chocolate, sugary sweets, you name it, i ate it. so now, i believe i'm paying for it, with my severe back acne. i want to detox my body from the candida and hopefully clear the infection and the back acne, i'd like a detailed description of things i should do for this and what to eat and not to eat. Ok so I heard there is this product called "Peeling Gel" by a company called "Obey Your Body". I heard it is good for acne, but does it work on the scars too? I am 13 and have had acne for at least three years I believe. My skin has actually become VERY oily after I turned 13. I wonder if that product works, because I need to clear up my face so I can go out not being embarrassed especially that I'll be 14 soon, which means looking for jobs...etc... So please help me?!? I used to have acne, and they left a few scars, so I'm thinking of maybe getting laser treatment. But it makes me feel kinda uncomfortable to think 'Hey, I'm going to get plastic surgery.' :P So does it count as cosmetic/plastic surgery? Resolved Question: What are the best natural skincare products for acne-prone skin?

My skin is combination, sensitive (as in I am prone to dryness, breakouts, and severe hives), and very acne prone. I just began to use Dr. Bronner's Magic soap (diluted, of course!) on my face. It cleans very well, but now that I have an organic soap, I figured I may as well opt for an organic toner, moisturizer, and spot treatment. For a toner, I'm assuming it will need to be witch hazel based, but I'm not sure if I should just use Dickinson's or something else (Thayer's?) For a moisturizer, all I need is something that will keep my face soft and moist and not break me out. That's always the tough one to find :( For a spot treatment I know I'll need tea tree oil, but what is the best brand? Thanks in advance! Hi so i used to get moderate acne, but im almost 20 and i think im grown out of it...because i rarely get acne. now its just the little red scars. but theyre taking forever to go away. is there anything to make them go away faster? ive found great treatment to keep my skin clear..i use clean n clear products and it works reallly well for me. anyways...yes i do exfoliate, use a mild astringent, and i use a mosturizer but im so sick of makeup lately. i dont have acne..just these little red scars. im way too embarassed to go out in public like that. but i hate my skin. its pretty sensitive. pale. pores are on the big side near my nose. its a little oily. im sick of trying foundations and them not matching or looking bad or whatever. i just want to look natural. but when i try that you can clearly see the scars showing through. even with concealer some of the scars are hard to cover up. i use physcians formula concealer than powder. i hate my skin. what makeup should i use? or am i putting the makeup on wrong? ive tried so many things. im so sick of it. please help! its like...if i go for the natural look...all you really see is ..my bad skin..but if i put makeup on til all the scars and everything are completely covered up its a little too much, i feel :( help! more
