I just recently purchased a Playstation 3 and a Cisco E2000 wireless router. I am having difficulty getting the router to connect to my PS3. Downloading demos and content on the Playstation Store takes days for me. I have Road Runner High Speed Online with Time Warner Cable. Voting Question: Computer will not stay connected?

Have my computer connected using lan so it's not wireless. It says connected and I am able to search the web but after about 10 minutes I am not able to search the web just gives me the page that says I am not connected but when I check my connection it still says I am connected. In order for me to search the web I have to restart my computer and go through the whole only being able to search for 10 minutes. I tried a new cable and that didn't work. I then tried changing the speed & duplexity and that did not work...so not sure what's up?! internet provider is Road Runner but has nothing (I dont think it does) to do with them. more

Resolved Question: What is the best Neutral-Cushioned running shoe up to $90?

I want to know what the best of the best is from people not companies. I am High School Boys Cross Country/Track runner who has just recovered (fingers crossed) from a stress fracture in the shin. Track season has come around and the time forn new running shoes has as well. I've read on countless websites that "(insert name here) shoe is the best of the Neutral-Cushioned category and I'm tired of it. I want a shoe that will "baby" my feet as much as possible and that will absorb as much impact as possible (mainly from running on the road, I live in a small town so it's kind of unavoidable) in order to avoid another injury. I think I might just go crazy if I have to sit another season out, especially when both the Track and Cross Coutnry teams go to state every year and I'm varsity. The contenders as of now appear to be the Nike Air Pegasus 26+ (I had the 24+ and it served me well), and the Asics gel 1150, 2140 and 2150. Resolved Question: Problem connecting Linksys wirelessly to another computer?

I have a linksys WRT54G2. I have it connected with ethernet to a road runner router that is connected to one main computer, internet works fine on that computer. I am able to connect perfectly (wireless connection) with my PS3 and Macbook. However, when I try to connect my Mom's desktop wirelessly (She has a wireless card), I am having problems. The computer stays connected for maybe 30 seconds, and then it gives a message saying, "Invalid IP Address." Then it tries to 'Acquire the Network Address.' It connects, and then it cuts out, and keeps repeating that cycle. The computer has very strong signal strength (100%), so its not an issue of not a strong enough signal. I don't know what to do!! If it helps, in order to connect the road runner router, I had to clone the Mac Address of the main computer into the Linksys to get the router to work. I don't know if that would interfere with the other computer I am having problems with somehow. Any help is appreciated! more

Hello great people of yahoo answers. Today I am faced with a most frustrating dilemma. As you all know, many of us struggle with technology. My struggle involves my laptop, modem, PS3, and the Internet in general. I am the unfortunate victim of PS3 DNS Error number 80710102. I have tried the many solutions suggested on various websites. So far, I've tried reseting everything, using open DNS addresses, and allowing the settings to go on automatic. I shall describe my issues with as much detail as I can. This all started after an unsuccessful attempt to set up and use an ad hoc (computer to computer) connection with my brothers netbook. We shall look into that problem at a different time. Now, during the course of that struggle, I disconnected my PS3 from the internet connection it used to have. Now, I tried for about 3 hours to get the connection back. Normally, I would just do the easy way as I did so many times in the past. I stuck one end of the Ethernet cord into the PS3, and the other into my Modem. I have recently found however, that my modems Ethernet port is no longer active. It is to say the least, broken. This is my first set of questions, are there any fixes to this? Is it simply a driver malfunction of sorts that is causing the port to not respond? Or should I just get a new modem? Moving on. After finding this out due to the lack of glowing green light from the port, I decided to stick the end into my laptop. Now, at first this seemed to work. My Network and Sharing Center picked up the connection. Except, it read it as a different Network separate from my Home Network that only had local access, not internet. I struggled for about an hour trying to work around this problem. I had no choice but to bridge the connections. My home network (laptop) is connected to the internet through Local Area Connection. The unidentified network (PS3) is simply connected to the laptop through Local Area Connection 2. I tried to Bridge the connections, and it seemed to work. Except now, my PS3 still cannot access the internet. Second set of questions before I move on, is bridging the two network adapters the only way to connect the PS3 to the Internet? I connected the PS3 to my Laptop through an Ethernet cable, is there no way I can access the properties of that specific adapter so that it can "feed off" of the other adapters internet connection. Or is there a way to add the PS3 to my home network and have only one network register? Moving on. Now, as I said, this appeared to work. The second network adapter was now bridged with the first, which should mean that anything connected to either adapter should get internet access. When I went to my PS3's Network Settings and subsequently Internet Connection Settings, and chose the Easy method, the PS3 failed to find an IP address. The search timed out. I tried entering the information manually, and when done, It found the IP address successfully, but failed to connect to the internet due to the DNS error mentioned above. I went back and reviewed all the information. I am not quite sure on something. Is the Default Router address asked for in the PS3 settings the same as the Default Gateway address shown in my laptop? I assumed this was the case, so I entered this address in. So, I tried a number of DNS tricks like reversing the number order, and using the open DNS adresses. Nothing works. And when I try to set it so the PS3 looks for all of this automatically, it fails immediately to find the IP address. So, if you can see my predicament, I am stuck in an endless cycle of failures. ANY help would be so greatly appreciated. If your wondering as to how my laptop is connected to the internet, it is through the modem that I have. It is a wired connection. It does not use an Ethernet connection however. It uses a USB port. My modem is a Motorola SB4200 SURFboard Cable Modem. My ISP is Road Runner. If you need any more clarification I will gladly provide as much information as I can. more

I am a marathon runner who has been ordered not to run by my doc but cycling is supposed to be good for me to stay in shape but all I have is a clunky/heavy mountain bike. aight... i just got the new 10-15 mbps internet... now i ordered a self instalation hook up.. so i did everything they told me to, but the modem box or whatever it is wont detect my cable cord.. it just sits there and blinks... but i connected a ethernet cord from the box to the computer its self and the box shows the PC a steady green, any ideas? this is what i did.. I opened the new box with all the equipment... so i opened it, took the modem thing out, plugged my cable in it derectly, plugged the box in to the outlet, and aqll it does is blink, now all Time Warner has to offer me for info costs me 30 bucks, (gotta make as much money they can i guess) its startin to piss me off,, any suggestions would do.. thanks more

Resolved Question: All you Athletic Trainers and Sports Medicine gurus out there, help!?

First, here's some background: I'm a runner, a bike rider, and I do yoga regularly. I'm in fairly good shape, not overweight, and I'm 36-years-old. Coming down the stairs about a month ago (I didn't fall or trip, just normal walking), something tore in my ankle, and it was quite painful. I iced it right away, and it seemed fine. I forgot all about it, and then about a week later, I was doing Pilates, and went to put my leg behind me for a normal lunge stretch, nothing too crazy, I've done it about a million times, and it felt like someone stabbed my foot with a small knife and dragged it across my foot. X-rays are totally normal. Doc put me in an aircast boot for one month. It's been three days in the boot and my foot hurts worse than it ever, ever had. Is this normal?? Is it that part of healing that it has to get worse before it gets better? It's my calcaneotibular ligament. (The P.A. didn't tell me that, it's what I gathered from looking at a graph of the ligaments of the foot.) And the pain is below the nob of the ankle bone on the outside of my foot. Sometimes it's pain and sometimes it feels like something is flapping around, like I have a piece of tape stuck to my foot that I want to rip off. Sometimes the pain runs to the middle/outside of my foot. I can walk on it, bearing weight, but being on my feet for too long causes irritation. Heat also makes it worse. I can't flex my foot very far and any stretch or movement I do that stretches my calf and/or hamstring muscles causes unbelievable pain in my foot. (For instance, leaning in to open a heavy door or closing the car door with my hip..) There's no visible swelling, no discoloration, and I can touch it, even squeeze it, without any pain at all. My doc seemed a little perplexed..(well, he was a P.A. but that doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's doing), so I'm here for a second opinion. Can anyone help? I feel hopeless, like this is one of those injuries that will never heal.... It has caused me much discouragement. I've been unable to participate in any physical activity, and that, coupled with my depression has caused me to gain 5 pounds in the last month. I need to get back out on the road...back to my normal life. I'm icing it a few times a day, taking NAIDS and keeping the boot on unless I'm sleeping, showering, or driving (it's my right foot, damn!). I'm following doctor's orders, I just need to know if this is just a case of me being impatient, or if there's something else going on here. (I don't know if it's helpful or related at all, but I did tear my Achilles in Basic Military Training, but that was 11 years ago. There is no pain or problems with my Achilles now.) Any help or any encouragement at all would be invaluable to me. Thank you so much! more

Please take this in the most unconceited way for in order to get a good answer I need to be honest... All the guys I've dated were, well, really good looking. musician's, athlete's, artist's. All of them with nice bodies, gorgeous eyes and a unique yet really "hot" sence of style. But after I broke up with my last boyfriend (blonde hair, blue eyes, six pack, really popular, star track runner), i decided to stay single for a while until my current boyfriend came along. He's ugly to put it simply. Well, to me anyway. Some people say he isnt THAT bad, others are more strait forward, confessing to me that he's completly discusting. He's different. Six foot five, kind of chubby, really embrarrising, talks in perfect grammer, smokes like crazy, and has the grossest curly hair i've ever seen in my life laying on top of his mellon sized head. But he swept me off my feet, making me for some reason want to be with him. Maybe it was because he cares so much for me, in fact, he loves me. He would take a bullet for me and I love that, for he's quite honestly the first of my boyfriends to care for me so deeply. Though it was fine for a while, its been about a month, maybe a little over, and I'm unhappy. I'm not willing to do anything, sexual, with him. Just kisses and hugs and even then its kind of weird. People still come up to me and ask me "why?!" and i never have an answer. Many other guys like me but i dont have the heart to break up with him. I know absolutely nothing about wireless internet. I have cable internet (road runner) now on my desktop pc. I'm in college and I am planning on buying a laptop within the next few weeks. If i buy a laptop thats Wi-Fi capable.....but i choose to keep the cable at my house and jus hook that up to the laptop will I be able to pick up the interent when I go to a hotspot with wi-fi or will i have to pay for wireless internet service in order to pick it up anywhere? Resolved Question: Advice on how to become a good runner, starting out being overweight and totally non-athletic.

I'm 30 years old and about 25 pounds overweight. I'm 5'3.5" and about 149 pounds. I would like to start running but I'm not in very good shape. I walk a lot with my friends, typically about 6 miles a few times a week. I would like to get some tips on how to become a great runner, how to best warm up, what kind of a schedule I should set in order to increase to potentially doing marathons a few years down the road... and how to go about getting started without buring out or getting hurt. Well we had two computers to start with. One of my computers used LAN and was connected to our wireless router which was connected to our modem. Our other computer is directly a floor above it and uses wireless in order to use the internet. Well my dad got a new laptop and it worked well with the network. About a day later my wireless desktop wouldn't connect to my network. I tried connecting to Linksys and it still didn't work. Can you help me connect my computer back to the network so it could work again? Also, my computer can send and receive packets but when I try to go on the internet it still does not work. Resolved Question: Need help with the DNS error (80710102) for an ethernet connection on PS3?

I've tried absolutely everything to solve this but I keep getting the "IP Adrress: Succeeded, Internet Connection: Failed" thing. I've restarted my cable box (Road Runner) as has been suggested numerous times, have switched the DNS numbers from secondary to primary, have tried the open DNS numbers, everything. It is a wired connection using an ethernet and everything I have tried that I've found online has not worked. There is one last thing that I think might work. A guy here on Answers said that my cable box could be blocking my PS3's MAC address and that I have to call my ISP to give them the MAC Address for the PS3 so they could add it to my cable box in order for my PS3 to be detected. Could this be it? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Please, I am absolutely desperate and need help. Any suggestions at all? Sorry for yelling, just had to get your attention. Well anyways, the beginning of August of last year, my family order Road Runner Light, and put on Norton Anti virus on our computer. You would think the computer will go at a decent fast speed, but it isnt fast at all, and if you use the computer alot, then it gets slow. Why? Just about every time I delete my cookies and temperaly files every time I turn of the computer. How can I solve this problem? more

It works fine when I connect it to other networks for example.. I have Verizon fios wireless internet when I switched t0 my brother's connection, Road Runner ,It worked perfectly fine. I no it's not my computer Cus i have removed evry installed program except for stuff like fire fox I've made sure nothing consuming is running in the processor. my computer has delayed input on evry program sometimes when I turn on my computer none of my shortcuts work, and I have to restart in order for them to work, but the moment, I switch to a different connection my computer is fast as if it was still brand new and the verizon network im on wasn't always like this... what is goin on? does it have to do with somethng in my newtork or my modem ahwt do i do? more

i do and i love it. i just wondered about the cash back? I was told for the services i ordered i would get $150 cash back. i haven't heard a thing about it since. anyone no about that or how long it takes? i saw other questions here about uverse, my experience was that i was told install took 4 to 6 hours. i have 4 tv's , install took 2 hours that included internet which i got pro and it is very fast. (at least i can tell u it is faster then my road runner was) i would say the hd for $10 a month may b a waste of $. i do have it but don't use it much at all. my pic is beautiful and looks the same when i turn it to hd. more

i just got road runner internet from twc (in nyc). twcnyc talked me into turning in my old cable box (which i have had since 1998) for a new digital cable box. i asked the twc customer service rep whether i would still get the same channels with the new box. i was told yes. a couple of days after plugging in the new box, i found that most of my cable channels, including mtv, cnn, scifi, espn, etc., were no longer available. when i called tcwnyc, i was told that the old cable box leaked channels, which the new cable box had now corrected. twcnyc said that all of the channels that i had when i had the old cable box were actually not part of my subscription plan (just basic) and that i would have to sign up for a higher plan (basic standard) in order to get the channels i was getting on my old box. twcnyc also said that it was no use asking for my old box back since the correction was made when i plugged in the new box. advice? has this happened to others? more

Shoes pounded the ground as the rain hit it with all its might. Lightning crackled in the night sky as clouds thundered and rumbled mightily. Fear was in the air. Water was forming puddles, lakes and rivers. The cracks in the path opened wider as if to make the runner fall. Fences from houses looked up menacingly as they passed while weeds and unwanted grass wound their way around the feet to stop the hurry. The surrounding area looked unfamiliar. Houses loomed up into the dark casting shadows around the street lamps. The rain was pounding on the hidden body. Water was being thrown up into the eyes of the runner making it hard to see. Tall wet weeds were creeping up around his ankles and left unwanted seeds stuck to the wet and dirty socks, causing his legs to begin to prick and itch. They were right behind him. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, they were going to catch him. Blood was swimming in his head, his knees started to throb. Where could he go? He needed help. Every one is inside their nice warm houses eating hot soup by the fire, not daring to go outside and be the next victims. Dogs barked in their yards at the passing noise made from their shoes as they thumped along the wet road. Cats ran down the drains as he came closer and fruit bats flew from tree to tree watching with fearful eyes hidden in the dark. Trees reach out into the darkness trying to grab him, trying to stop him. The footsteps behind him are becoming louder and louder. A dead end, no way out, there’s no where to go. Turning around they’re screaming at him, ordering him to drop to the floor. Houses stood still all around holding their breath in anticipation. Frantically looking around he saw a narrow alleyway opening up into the night, leading to a dark place, the reserve. He’ll be able to escape here. Head spinning, eyes prickling with tiredness he kept going. He almost tripped in a small rabbit hole. Got to get up, got to get away. Shadows of night time walkers jumped out at him from out of the darkness causing him change direction. A stitch cut its way across the poor boy’s stomach making it hard to breath, making it hard to run. He had to stop, but his feet wouldn’t let him. Air refused to go into his lungs; it just went straight passed him. Slowing down he could hear them coming closer and closer. He ran straight and hard, through a park and into an alleyway at the back which was formed by peoples back fences. It was almost pitch black in the alleyway, shadows of trees and bushes showed them selves as they hung fearlessly and with a sense of boredom watching the case continue. more

So I'm ordering Road Runner high speed internet, and they basically said that the earliest they could send someone to hook it up would be on January 14th. I'm a little impatient and don't want to wait that long, so I want to do the self-installation. I currently have Dish Network and don't have Time Warner hooked up. The availability test says that my area is servicably by Time Warner. What are the steps involved with self-installing this? Where do I connect everything? The car's pre-order program, available through select US dealers, will begin in January. 2009 Nissan GT-R: Awesome From Afar The 2009 Nissan GT-R has broken cover. Or rather, several well-known automotive media outlets have blown its cover! When the December 2007 cover of Motor Trend got leaked (or swiped) from the printer, press embargoes were tossed aside, along with it the thin veil of secrecy the GT-R was still hiding. Namely its off-the-chart performance numbers: 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, 11.7-second quarter mile, and top speed of 193 mph. Better still, the supercar is expected to be in the amazingly affordable $70-80K range. Unveiled at Last The black covers that hid the GT-R’s nose are gone and reveal a chiseled carbon fiber nose piece, flanked on both sides by small canards molded into the bumper itself. Look closely, and you can see how the deep front splitter directs air to the radiator and around the car. The sleek shape of the new R35 is a commendably slick 0.27 Cd (co-efficient of drag). Twin NACA ducts in the hood channel air directly to the small IHI turbos located underneath. They’re not the only low-drag aero devices used on the car, either. The front fenders have functional air ducts that sweep back from the sides of the car, drawing heat away from the engine compartment. One detail not readily apparent is the rear carbon-fiber splitter that uses airflow under the chassis to develop downforce. While standard practice for LeMans prototypes, these types of details are reserved for only a few road-going machines. Nissan engineers knew the enormous performance envelope for this car would require every (aero) trick in the book! Rear styling of the R35 features the iconic twin round taillights of the GT-R series. All in all, Nissan stylists have created a modern, functional shape that pays appropriate homage to the legendary line. V-6 Power First for GT-R Looking under the hood of the new PM (Prime Midship) chassis reveals the front-mounted engine is mounted far back for better weight distribution. But there’s no blown straight six for this thoroughly modern supercar. The new twin turbocharged 3.8 liter V-6 is named the VR38 and puts out 473 hp at 6,400 rpm and 433 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm in its initial state of tune. No doubt Nissan will have more on tap for the future, but all appearances suggest that this is the engine to be federalized for North American use. Expect the compact IHI turbos to have little to none of the dreaded turbo lag of years past. An extremely clean turbo installation utilizes separate plenums and tuned intake runners for each bank of the engine. Expect to hear more details on this amazing powerplant in the near future. Meanwhile, a carbon fiber prop shaft transfers power to the rear- mounted transaxle. Utilizing a six-speed, direct-drive semi-automatic gearbox, Nissan’s latest AWD creation can vary power delivery from 50/50 (front/rear) to 2/98 for heavy acceleration. By utilizing the paddle shifters, GT-R pilots may sample full-throttle, no lift upshifts, and computer-guided downshifts with full rev matching. The GT-R’s suspension is more familiar, with twin wishbones up front and a five-link rear. The dampers are electronically controlled, with three separate programs (race, sport and comfort) available at the touch of a button. More extreme are the 20” alloy wheels with massive six-piston Brembo (front) and four-piston (rear) calipers with equally enormous 15.2” rotors. You’ll need that kind of stopping power, as the latest R35 is expected to tip the scales at a touch over 3,792 pounds. Silken Hammer Inside the cockpit, it’s luxury blended with pure performance. Racing-style leather seats with large side bolsters will hold you (and your passengers) in place, although I’m not sure anyone really wants to be tossed around in the smallish 2+2 seats in back! A beautifully sculpted instrument panel features a center-mounted tach (with a 7K redline) and a smaller speedo on the left. The instruments move up and down with the steering wheel, so each driver can find the perfect position. Nissan continues their superb job in blending traditional control surfaces with cutting edge technology. A good example is the center stack with traditional HVAC controls in the center and a large video screen just above this. Toggling through this display provides such diverse information as turbo boost, g-loadings, engine performance parameters and which of the really hot girls is lusting for a ride in your new GT-R. OK, I made that last one up. Step into the new R35 and you’ll find everybody wants a ride! more

Voting Question: wireless internet on a laptop .....?

I have a Compaq Presario V5207NR with Intel Celeron M Processor. It says it has 802.11b/g wireless LAN. (It has a blue light button to turn on and off the "WLAN") I was told by a best Buy associate that in order to connect "from the parking lot of starbucks" for example, then I would need the LINKSYS Wireless-N USB Network Adapter. i want to connect to my parents internet which is Road Runner (used to be Comcast) and it is DSL. They have a Motorola Cable Modem box that you turn on and off. I can sometimes find them on y "View wireless networks" box but it said i nees the WEP key, I got it and my computer said it was connected to them but.... the page wouldn't come up bc it said I did not have a connection. I have no clue what to do or what I need to buy, or even if the product I bought was actually needed! Please give me some knowledgeable advice.
