i have just replaced the bulb on by digital projector and it wont let me reset the lamp hours so i can continue to use the projector.
i have tried everything the manual says, and everything the internet says.
once the new bulb was inserted, i turned it on, and pressed and held the exit button like it says to, then was ready to press auto on the remote once the hours turned back to 0.

This is a small, underfunded public library. The room is used for presentations, book discussions and films. Presently we have an Epson S-1 projector from 2003.http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?oid=33279420 It is not compatible with Windows Vista and this has complicated some power point presentations. Honestly, it isn't much of a projector. We've resorted to hooking up an old computer with a DVD drive to play movies because the sound from the projector's speaker is some sort of sick joke.
The projector runs about $640 at Newegg.com and the speakers run about $200. This is about $160 below our absolute maximum budget.
Is this any good? Will we see a a big improvement over the old Epson S-1? We'd like to attract film students, advanced amateur and small independent film makers to submit their work for presentation. They could come and discuss their work or just mail it to us, perhaps with a letter and we will present it. Is this equipment so low end it would be an insult?
Not long ago we watched the film "Girl with a Pearl Earring" and I felt the projection was only fair at best, and while a great film, I think it suffered from the somewhat grainy projection. Thanks.

Well I’ve concluded after a lot of search that LED projector should atleast be 60 lumens, 500-1 to 1000-1 contrast and should have USB or SD card slot. LED projectors brightness level is somewhat better than the conventional lamp based projectors so anything in the range of 100 lumens in enough. Also the biggest advantage of 20000 to 30000 life hours :-D I am now a happy owner of 'Samsungs sp-p410m' LED projector which is absolutely brilliant. Couldn’t find it online in UK so ordered one from Korea :p yep i liked it that much :p it has SVGA 800 x 600 resolution, brightness 170ANSI, 1000-1 contrast ratio and 80 inch projection which looks stunningly bright, vivid and crisp on my not so white wall. oh and it has digital keystone correction too :-D inputs are VGA, composite & USB. its around 750$ but worth the money as it will last for 10 to 15 years. I recommend following in order, but plz give specs a LONG good look:
1-Samsung sp-p410m
2-Benq gp1
3-Toshiba TDP-F10
5-Samsung sp-400
4-Acer K10Please give your suggestions or share your experience.

A friend has asked me to help him. Problem is he has no manual for the DVD Home entertainment system. The DA-5620 is connected fine to the overhead projector as I have been able to play a DVD on to a large screen. The Wii console has been connected to the Video 1 (and the sound works) yet we cannot get a picture from the projector. Without the LG manual we are a bit stuck. I have tried pressing the by pass button on the remote control - without much success. Has anyone any idea what may be wrong please

I just bought a BenQ e1050t camera and tried to connect it to my Samsung T200HD tv.
Here's what the camera's manual is telling me:
Connecting the camera to an AV system
You can play files in your camera with an AV system, such as a TV or projector.
To connect the camera to an AV system:
1. Connect the end of the smaller plug of the AV cable to the camera.
2. Connect the yellow video plug and the white audio plug of the AV cable to a video-input
jack and an audio-input jack (left channel) on your AV system.
3. Turn on the AV system, and then switch to the AV source connecting to the camera.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to operate the camera via the TV or projector screen.
Ok, I managed to connect it with the TV but when I try to play something from the camera ... the TV shows it in black & white.
I put the yellow wire in the Y input port of the tv's component in and the white wire in the L-Audio port of the tv's component in.
What am I doing wrong here?nvm, I found the problem

I changed the lamp on my Benq PB8220 projector at 1625 hours but was not able to reset the lamp usage timer. Now the projector automatically shuts off saying the lamp has exceeded it's limit of 2000 hours whereas in actualality it has only ran for 375 hours. I removed the lamp and re-installed it but was unable to reset the lamp usage timer. However the problem presists. I am playing blu-ray's through my Sony BDP-S350 into my Benq W500 projector which has a max resolution of 720p so I was wondering what the output video resolution should be set at on my blu-ray player..720p or 1080p. Oh by the way I have tried both using both settings and haven't noticed any difference except for the fact that when my blu-ray player is set at 1080p there is the occasional flicker...usually only on the menu's but I haven't noticed any flicker when it is set at 720p

I have a benq w500 projector capable of 1080p and not used for sound. For sound I have a JVC Th-L1 capable of HDMI surround sound.
HDMI picture comes in fine with this set up. But no HDMI sound! I use it with my PS3. PS3 says that the source is not compatible for HDMI sound. ??? Oh, and I should mention that a digital optical cable works fine but not HDMI.
My only guess is the PS3 ignores my surround sound and just reads the projector as the video and audio source. There for making it not compatible for HDMI. Like HDMI will only work if its hooked up to a HDMI capable tv.
Anyone else have a Surround Sound and Projector setup like mine? Work? Not Work?

New projector, NEW DVD player. Bought a HDMI - D-SUB cable to go from DVD Player (Sigmatek XS-700) into my Projector (Benq MP611C). I get no display. Manual says:
PROJECTOR MANUAL STATES: If you connect the projector to a High Definition TV (HDTV) tuner, the following standards
are supported: 420i/p , 780i/p, 1080i
DVD PLAYER SETUP STATES: HDMI Setup show supported: 420i/p , 780i/p, 1080i
If i go from DVD player (Sigmatek XS-700) to projector via [COMPONENT to D-SUB] - Works fine and displays 420i/p - good picture.
I have plugged in from Laptop at 800X600 and works fine, great picture. (DSUB to DSUB Connector Cable)
Svideo and composite all work fine with no problems both from the DVD player and to the projector. Its all new brand new kit.
My problem is: when i plug HDMI Cable to DSUB between DVD Player and Projector I get no signal at all. Yet any other cable works fine. What am i doing wrong???? PLEASE HELP - AT WITS END

I'm connecting my PS3 to my projector (Benq PB8260) using a HDMI/DVI adaptor but there is no picture.
I have done everything that can be done such as holding the power button to reset it, getting a new HDMI cable, and even sending it into Sony. I know it isn't the cables or anything themselves because i connect the hdmi cable to another dvd player and it works just fine.
If anyone could help me out i would be extremely grateful.

Im having trouble getting my projector(optoma EP719) to use the VGA Output. I have my LCD (BenQ FP91G+) hooked up to the VGA output from my projector. Powered both devices on and the lcd displays No Signal detected. The projector has video but won't output the video to my lcd. Ive tried adjusting the resolution of the projector to 1024x768 and still no video output to the lcd. Any help figuring this out would be appreciated.

Most web pages seem to emphasize what you need for a 100" screen. I live in an apartment and would project at 60" (70" at the most). My living room is 15x15 with one double window facing south that has black curtains. There is some ambient light during the day. I live in the northern states so it gets dark around 5pm here in winter, but around 8pm in summer.
i will use it mostly for movies and tv on DVD.
I was looking at a 800-1200 lumen 16:9 home theater projector. Not a business projector - I have done enough research to realize you are better off with a home theater unless you need it for business.
It seems like the lumens really vary when acutally measured. Epsons and Infocus models seem to be pretty on par if not bighter than stated. Optoma's and Benq's seem to be a little darker.
I figure the listed lumens must be if you are showing a very bright colored picture without darks.
