Open Question: Movie downloaded on my iPhone stops half way, How to fix this?

I recently downloaded The Hangover (unrated edition) on iTunes off my iPhone. I let it download over night connected to my wifi and was watching it earlier today. I got to about 50 minutes in, when it freeze frames, and then stops showing the rest of the video. The movie timer on it still goes on, like the movie picture stops at 50 minutes, but the little circle keeps going as if the movie were still playing, except with no audio or visual. I want to be able to watch my movie or refund it since it is a broken movie... Unless I can fix this some how. Any ideas? more

Open Question: Visualiser effects, or sound sensitive wave form effects, fractals, etc?

Hi, Does anyone know any free software that allows you to create a visualiser effect (like what is on itunes) that can be recorded/filmed? I want to make a youtube video and want to have a visual effect that is responsive to my audio... I've tried doing screen captures of itunes visualiser but the quality goes down so much. Open Question: How to beat DAVE on Ant and Dec's Push the Button game show?

DAVE, which stands for Dynamic Audio Visual Endgame, is a device that features in the final game of each edition of the UK game show, Ant and Dec's Push the Button. It uses coloured buttons to generate a series of random sequences made up from five different notes, that the winning team of five family members must match exactly in order to take home all the money that they have won during the rest of the show. To take home any money at all the group must repeat a sequence of three notes. For each additional digit that makes up their total winnings, the sequence of notes that they must repeat increases by two. So, to take home all the money, they may have to eventually repeat a sequence of eleven notes. During this whole series, they are only allowed to make one mistake. Make a second, and they take home whatever the amount is that is made up from the digits for which they have successfully provided matching sequences. Given that it is generally accepted that the average Jack or Jill is able to remember at most sequences of seven plus or minus two, how is it possible that the first two families to have so far taken on DAVE both managed to beat it and walk off with all the money? At the risk of ruining my own reputation, I shall attempt to answer my own question. There is a trick to beating DAVE. It relies on the fact that it is a group of people, rather than a single individual, who have to remember the sequences. Teamwork is really going to pay off. The five team members stand in front of five coloured buttons that light up as DAVE plays the sequence of notes. All any one member of the team has to do is count each note as it is played by DAVE, and remember only those numbers that correspond to their own coloured button lighting up. Then to play back the sequence in order, all each member has to do is count, and press their own button each time the count reaches one of the numbers that they have remembered. So instead of one person having to remember up to eleven different notes, each member of the team of five has to remember perhaps only two, three or at most four numbers, and be able to count. As an example, say I'm standing in front of the red button, and, as I count, it lights up on the two, the seven and the nine. When my team has to repeat the sequence, all I have to do is count the notes as they're played, and press my button when I reach two, seven and nine. As long as the rest of my team has been able to count and remember their own place in the sequence, there's no reason why we shouldn't take home all the money. The point of asking, and then answering my own question, was not to raise my own profile or reputation, but to help any families who are lucky enough to be picked for the show to take home as much as they can of the money that they manage to raise in the preceding games. In grammer school/high school I have been classified for audio and visual learning disorder. I got decent grades but I have always felt like everything was foggy. Now in college, my mom works as a teachers aid in a class room, had a work shop on adhd and was convinced I had it. I went to the phy. He prescribed me aderell and had me take a test. well aderell didn't work- triggered panick attacks. I went back to him and he told me it wasn't adhd, add, depression, my memory score was low so I have memory problems and referred me to a dr who was not in my insurance plan and wanted 250 an hour. I am still looking for a doctor within my insurance but I am wondering does anyone know what it could possibly be. Its like you can tell me something then in 2 minutes I forget, I have a short attention span, I am 21 years old, slightly over weight thanks to genetics (I've been working on loosing weight for the past 5 years) I even got tested for thyroid problems, I came out clean.I described it to them they claim they don't know and want to send me to a neuro phycologist* thing is though i dont have the money they want 250 an hour its rediculous I still see like blurryish i cant describe it. I am still looking for a dr within my networkyeah except the nurologist doesnt know whats wrong and wants me to see a phys threpist who wants 250 an hour more

I recently moved into a new apartment and have been trying to hook up my Playstation 2 to my Sanyo television (I apologize but I cannot find the model or any other identifying information, and my landlord no longer possesses the manual. It is a 32” model). The television has two sets of standard R/W/Y RCA in ports, one very clearly labeled ‘Audio Visual 1’ and the other ‘Audio Visual’. The television is remotely connected to a satellite receiver (for Dish network). I have two remotes: one to control the satellite reception and one to control the TV – it is a DirecTV remote that is a model RC64 or at least operates in a similar manner. I understand my ultimate goal is to tune the TV Input to AV1/AV2 corresponding to where I inserted the RCA Out in the TVs rear. So far I have attempted: Searching the menu for an option to enable AV channels. Performing a channel search to see if it would add AV channels Using the DirectTv remote ‘TV Input’ button to attempt to switch channels Attempting to change input via satellite by hooking up the ps2 as an auxiliary device I have attempted all these with the RCA cables plugged into both AV1 and AV2 Unfortunately any solution that requires me to access my landlord’s satellite box from which I receive my remote signal is not an option. Failing a solution for the TV, I’m open to suggestions as to how to use my laptop as a monitor in lieu of the television, if such a thing is feasible Apologies for the long block of text – I hope it will be more helpful in its thoroughness than frustrating. My video is in wmv format and youtube is taking forever for it to upload. And I don't know how long it will take for youtube because they don't have that "15:00 minutes remaining thing" and the bar is usually all blue so how can I tell? It's only FIVE minutes long with audio and visual. And I've waited over an hour already. Usually it only takes 30-40 minutes but I've tried to upload it a couple of times already. Can anyone help me? I have an OLE with a WAV audio file as the source. I am trying to write a code to have it auto play upon opening the standard EXE application. When I activate it manually it opens windows media player to play it. Is there a way to have the file play within the exe, rather than relying on another program to execute it? I'm currently a computer science student at a university, and have completed more than 75% of our computer science undergraduate program. We use C++ in most of our programming classes, but all we create are various console/terminal text based programs. I want to try and start making a few simple (2D) games in C++, but I have no idea where to begin with anything related to GUI's or graphics. I've already made a few simple games with Python and pyGame but I'm not really sure how to make C++ output anything other than text. (I already understand the concepts of sprites, I just don't know how to get them on the screen with audio cues in C++) I'd also like to use visual c++ if possible, but again, I've never made anything other than a console application. Do you recommend any books, websites, or libraries to get started? I don't need a tutorial on "how to program in C++", I need a tutorial on "C++ Programmers who want to begin programming games". Voting Question: Audio and visual skipping on Vista laptop.?

Randomly, the audio on my Vista laptop has started skipping, not just one program, but in every sound it makes. It's like playing a scratched CD or something, it's very irritating. The visual skips too. If i type some thing rapidly such as "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" it will pause every few seconds, like the audio. I've tried to research it, and found something saying it was connected to the RAM so I uninstalled a few random things such as IM programs I don't use anymore, and games I don't need on here. I really have a lot of room left on my RAM I think, I'm not a tech-head with a million programs. And for that matter, can any answers be stated plainly, and simply? Step by step directions on how to fix this problem? I'm guessing that since the HDMI cable carries both audio and video, the quality of both is diminished. With a DVI cable, you're ONLY transmitting digital video, with a separate cable only for audio. more

Resolved Question: Why won't it play on my DVD player?

Ok, dumb question, I'm trying to burn a DVD off the internet onto a disc. I did that, now I'm trying to play it in my DVD player, and it keeps saying no audio, no visual... What does that mean?? okay, i got an acer aspire Notebook 1360 quite a number of years ago. i got a virus on it around ayr ago and have only recently got it working again by downloading a new OS. however i downlaoded it with NO DRIVERS. i couldnt even go on the internet wiht it because i didnt have the LAN driver lol. i eventually got that installed and i have the audio and visual drivers all installed however - it now seems that teh built in speakers do not work because they are not installed. i tried buying some external speakers from a shop but there is no where to plus them in on the notebook :| ive plugged them in everywhere i can and nothting happens :| so im guessing i need to find ( somewhere on the net ) an installation donwload for the internal speakers for my laptop. im wondering if anyone knows where i can get this download? and please no one suggest going to the manufacturers webite because ive tried all that stuff and they only provide the audio drivers not teh installation for the internal speakers :( more

Resolved Question: I need help with my AMV converter!!?

I have a Visual Land Video MP3 player, and the way I put videos on it is by downloading the video with RealPlayer from Youtube, putting that video into the Aneesoft Video Converter, then putting THAT video into my AMV converter that came with my MP3 player. That worked perfectly fine until I got a new computer. Now only the audio shows up on my player, and no video. Suggestions? And is there a faster way then downloading from RealPlayer and putting it into the Aneesoft converter, then putting it in the AMV converter? Thanks! more

Resolved Question: What is a good camcorder with a focus ring and mic input?

I am going to start a webseries soon, and after doing a test today, I realized the resources I have to use to make this look good are not enough. The main problem was audio and visuals. Though I have spent sometime in my editing software trying to correct it to my liking, I just can't match the quality I am looking for. So I plan on buying a APEX175 Shotgun Boom mic (unless you recommend something different) so I can increase audio quality dramaticly. Unfortunately my camera doesn't have a mic input. I can only use the standard mic built in which picks up a lot of background noise, a lot of wind, and even picks up the camera counting seconds as it records. Another thing I figured would be extremely useful is a manual focus ring. I do like Auto focus, considering there have been many times where I was both actor and camera operator, but with a focus ring, it would increase visual quality of the whole thing. So if you have any recommendations, it would be nice if you list them. cheap is prefered. thank you. more

Voting Question: Dell Laptop Studio 1537 /Control Panel > Sound > Problem here?

I have had my LT "Laptop" For over a year now. I have it hooked up to my tv through an HDMI cable. It is always connected. Always. Now all of a sudden it is like as if it is permantly set as my default and wont change when my pc changes. For example. I log onto PC. My speakers are set to HDMI but my tv is not on. So it should be set to LT speakers like it always was. Then when I change to TV it should change to HDMI. Now if i set my LT speakers as default. I put on my tv it changes to HDMI just fine. I change back to Laptop and it looks like it attempts to change but then it goes back to HDMI. This is what me and dell tried to do. BTW dell admitted to me once they dont really have any experiernce they learn as they go. So I dont trust them most of the time. I am sure it is just a simple change in something and it will be fine. So we. Uninstalled the audio and visual drivers and reinstalled. did a system restore and still nothing. Can anyone help me fix this. So that it changes by it self when I change my laptop from TV to Laptop and from Laptop to TV. It should do this auto. So I am almost sure it is just a button somewhere that I have to click it either on or off. I have some pc exp. But any help you can provide please I need it. Thanks. more

I am a hourly in house audio visual tech contracted to run a 6 building campus for another company. Every yr I have worked here I have had to work more overtime than the previous year (250 hrs 2009). I just had a meeting with my boss who informed me that the company i'm contracted to doesn't want to pay my overtime though the work is for them and Obviously my company doesn't want to pay it. I was thinking of talking to my boss about taking my average yearly total with overtime and switching it to salary so I get paid more when there is no overtime and the company I am at doesn't have to worry about the number of overtime hrs I work this yr when there is. I have never worked a salary job before and wondered if this was a good idea or should I just stick with hourly and let them figure it out. I just don't want them cutting me out of doing overtime all together since overtime last year accounted for over $9000 extra of my pay. more

Resolved Question: Did I make a mistake buying a 60 Hz LCD TV?

I bought this 60 Hz LCD TV back in July 2009. I mostly use it to watch DVDs with, although I am in the process of upgrading my DVD movies to Blu-ray. The TV shows on DVD can wait until they become available for Blu-ray. Heard conflicting reports that the 120 Hz technology in LCDs makes the picture look fake, "sped up" or unnatural. Another thing I wanted to mention was some of the TV shows I have were shot using 16mm film cameras. Although in later seasons they did upgrade to 35mm and eventually HD cameras. Not sure if that would cause any motion blur or not. Anyways, bottom line, is it worth upgrading to a 120 Hz LCD/LED TV or even a plasma TV? Or is 60 Hz good enough for Blu-ray and DVD? I own a Samsung LN46B530. Panel model number is AA01. I am not really an expert when it comes to audio/visual stuff so any help would be appreciated.Only thing I'm kind of having right now is the feeling of I just spent $1500 on the wrong TV because I didn't know much about the technology. more
