I was doing advertising using PPC and some people called me from findyoursearch.com and guaranteed that I’d get be on the first page of google for the next 6 months. I would just like your opinion on it because I want to know if paying for that service is worth it or if it’s just better to continue to market using ppc, writing articles, and social networking. Here is the plan they gave me below. Let me know what you think and what you would do if you were offered this plan:
1.20 key phrases. They help me pick the keywords: $2,795 for 6 months.
2.They said the avg profit of $21,000 per keyword but that is not a guarantee.
3.They guarantee that my web site would be on the 1st page over the next 6 months.
I’m in sales and all my commission are for $1,000. I would make my money back with 3 sales only or with 3 people joining my opportunity.

First off, a little back story so that you'll understand everything. Basically, didn't do that well in High School just getting low B's and High C's despite the simplicity of those courses. Now it's January, and I'm wanting to go to college. I just took my SAT's and will be getting my scores back on February 19th. I've been looking at Colleges such as:

I am VERY interested in genetic programming, and have been toying around with it lately. I am also well versed in OOP principles, and making flexible, reusable, and extensible programs. I have experience developing software for clients via freelancing websites such as rentacoder.com and scriptlance.com.
As you might be able to tell, I am very confused as to what I need to do now. I was wondering if applying genetic programming to solve some sort of problem would increase my chances of getting into these schools. Would any other type of computer programming projects help my chances of getting in? Is my real world software development experience helpful in getting me into college?
Also, my family is making little to no income right now so I should be eligible for financial aid. I have found a ton of resources online, but I'm not sure what to do with all of them. My partner and I have been working for the past year and a half developing a marketing system to help promote local businesses in a certain niche market (sorry wont say what the niche is). But when we go to pitch our service we are running into problems. First this is what we do:
Basically we have developed a website much akin yellow pages which only caters towards this niche, over the past year and a half we have become highly optimized for almost every category in the niche ranking in the top 3 spots in Google Yahoo and Bing (MSN). (outranking even yellowpages, yelp, yellowbook and others)
However we are not only offering a subscription into the directory (which gives the clients more exposure). We build each client a website, they get to choose their domain name, we create a custom classified advertisements to use, and we promote their businesses through Google Adwords, (this is done by having adwords drop the click through onto their listing page on our site.) In addition we give the clients access to a backend where they can track how many impressions their classified ads recieve, how many clickthroughs to their website, and a host of other statistical tools.
This is above and beyond yellowpages, in fact many clients we talk to say they spend 150-300 a month on yellowpages and recieve NO results.
We have a few clients who are very satisfied with the service, and it has helped them land additional business. In fact for most of our clients, only 1 job from a lead covers a months charge or more, and we only charge $50/mo promotional rate for 6 months then it goes to $80/mo from there.
Now here is the problem we face when trying to get new clients.... Many of you may have been cold called and pitched by some internet search engine optimization company that promises that they can get you on the front page of Google for a fee.. Most of those companies are shady and provide no results. For some reason when we start talking to people this is what they think we are doing... when in fact this is NOT what we are doing at all!
I'm kind of at a how I can effectively market our service without being confused as one of these shady businesses. Since this is not what we are doing.

i have started small business from home, i am only dependent on my website to get me business. here is link to my website, www.fhpackaging.com, it has industrial products like tapes, adhesives, dispenser, polybags etc. i don't know how to get this website to the customers. i do not have a single order until now. nobody has called me yet. its like more than 6 months my website is online. i have also contacted one company and they told me to do SEO(Search Engine Optimization)for my website. and right now they are working on that but i am not sure if that will help me generate traffic to my website and i will start getting orders and calls from the customers??

I paid a company called servicewrap for a gold package which was meant to be that my website was on the first page and in top 10 of many search engines within ten days.Now it is approximately 1 month after i bought the package and my website is nowhere on the search engines.They either dont answer the emails i send or offer a sincere apology and say that they'll be adding something for free when my website finally gets on the 1st pages as specified and then i dont hear from them again.Will i receive the service i've paid for or do you think i've been ripped off?
Their website looked reasonably professional but maybe i should of had more hesitation when i saw that they were using a big breasted "porn" looking woman on their site for marketing.
I appreciate your opinion

I have a business degree...and know the different structures of Marketing etc...but...it is hard to decide what they need help with until you get in there.

Don't think they have a website, if so, not a great one...could help with search engine optimization, get them online...
They know how to make a flyer/mailer and send it out, but that is about it. What else should I convince them is worthwhile??

I have this non compete clause that is just ridiculous. I worked for a search engine optimization company and they made us sign a non compete that said we couldn't do ANY internet marketing anywhere in the world for 6 months. The thing is... I am a marketing major. What marketing jobs these days don't somehow involve the internet? I already tried negotiating it, and he refuses.
