Resolved Question: Why are so many illegals in dangerous gangs Operation Community Shield team took 13 gang members off streets?

A 19-year old Castaic gang member is behind bars facing a second deportation after being questioned by deputies in Canyon Country on Tuesday. Jorge Cervantes was arrested after deputies stopped him midday near Whites Canyon Road and Soledad Canyon Road and found a fully-loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun in his waistband. KHTS News Brought To You By: Because of his gang history, Cervantes was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a loaded and concealed firearm by a gang member; possession of a firearm registered to another person and active participation in a known street gang. Cervantes was back in the country illegally, having been arrested and deported after the multi-agency Operation Community Shield team took 13 gang members and juvenile offenders off the streets during a targeted gang sweep in May. Along with the current charges, Cervantes also faces federal charges and is being held without bail by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials. http://hometownstation.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=18595:gang-deportation-clarita-2009-12-03-12-20&catid=26:local-news&Itemid=97 Note this asks why are so many illegals illegals in gangs not what about this gang or this one, limited your answer to illegals . Resolved Question: What is your opinion on this Immigration agents nab 280 in Texas gang probe?

DALLAS — Immigration agents arrested 280 people in Texas during a six-month national roundup of gang members and criminals. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Thursday that agents working with state and local officials made the arrests as part of Operation Community Shield. The sweep ended Sept. 30. and focused on gangs with foreign-born members. ICE says 127 were arrested in North Texas and 113 in the Houston-Galveston area. Those included members or associates of such international gangs as MS-13, Surenos and Laotian Oriental Killer Boyz. Officials say the 89-city operation led to 1,785 arrests nationwide of people suspected of gang and criminal activity or immigration violations. ICE says 35 percent of those arrested in the nationwide operation have violent criminal histories and more than 1,400 are suspected gang members. Resolved Question: What do U think Operation Community Shield 29 Illegal Alien Gang Members in Las Vegas how many others?

What do U think Operation Community Shield 29 Illegal Alien Gang Members in Las Vegas how many others do U believe to be in America? Federal agents and local police officials arrested 29 gang members and their associates -- including many with serious criminal histories -- following a three-day multi-agency gang enforcement operation in Las Vegas and Mesquite, Nevada, according to a report obtained by the National Association of Chiefs of Police's Organized Crime Committee. The operation, which ended on Friday, was led by agents of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Two of the gang members arrested during the surge that began last Tuesday are facing federal criminal prosecution for re-entry after deportation. The others are foreign nationals who are being processed for deportation. The group taken into custody includes a Salvadoran national with ties to the notorious MS-13 gang, a citizen of Afghanistan, and a citizen of the Bahamas; the remaining 26 are citizens of Mexico. Joining the federal agents in the anti-gang operation were officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Mesquite Police Department and the Nevada Department of Public Safety Division of Parole and Probation and Division of Investigation. The arrests were made as part of ICE's National Gang Unit surge known as Operation Community Shield. As part of the initiative, ICE partners with other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies across the country to target the significant public safety threat posed by transnational street gangs. "Street gangs pose a growing public safety threat to communities throughout this area," said Robert Schoch, special agent in charge of the Office of Investigations in the Las Vegas. "The violence and crime associated with these gangs has reached intolerable levels." The foreign national gang members and gang associates who were arrested on administrative immigration violations have been placed in removal proceedings. They will be held in ICE custody and scheduled for a deportation hearing before an immigration judge. Most of the individuals arrested during the operation have criminal histories, including prior convictions for drug trafficking, weapons possession, kidnapping with a deadly weapon, home invasion, battery with a deadly weapon, sex crimes involving children, grand larceny and other offenses. Luis Morales-Villapudua, 38, a Mexican national previously convicted of drug trafficking, has been criminally charged with re-entering the United States after deportation, a federal crime that carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. "On behalf of the Mesquite Nevada Police Department and the entire Mesquite community, we would like to express our appreciation to ICE for the agency's continued efforts to assist us with the removal of criminal aliens from our streets," said Mesquite Police Chief Douglas L. Law. http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/view/114357 more

Resolved Question: Mayor Gavin Newsom (San Fransisco) wants to be Governor of California. Is he fit to be governor?

San Fransisco is a self-declared "sanctuary city." They welcome illegal aliens. They also have a policy of not turning over illegal immigrant felons to the feds. One of these felons is charged with killing a father and two sons. They were shot near their home when they were driving home from a family picnic & blocked the gunman's car from completing a left turn down a narrow street. Ramos, a native of El Salvador is a member of a violent street gang (Mara Salvatrucha or "MS-13") and had been found guilty of two felonies as a juvenile. He has a long history of violence, along with being a known illegal alien. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/07/20/MNK011MAFR.DTL If Newsom can't handle San Fransisco's problems, how can we expect him to handle California? Is he partially responsible for these three murders since it's his policy that allows these animals back on the streets? Don't say California deserves someone like this! more

Resolved Question: Doesn't THIS seem to be the typical type of illegal?

Deported MS-13 member busted at U.S. border An MS-13 gang member with a lengthy criminal history, deported six years ago after serving time in the Nassau County jail, was captured Monday morning in California trying to sneak back into the United States, a Border Patrol spokesman said. The man, whose name has not yet been released by federal authorities, is now in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in San Diego, said Border Patrol Agent Mark Endicott, a bureau spokesman based in Chula Vista, Calif. "He did time in a Long Island, Nassau County jail, and as soon as he was released he was deported to El Salvador" in February 2002, the spokesman said. The man jumped the fence at the U.S.-Mexico border at around 6:30 a.m. at a border station near a mountainous region about 35 miles east of San Diego, Endicott said. The border crossing is situated north of Tecate in the Baja California region of Mexico. The man took advantage of darkness just before sunrise Monday and climbed over the border fence to avoid inspection by Customs officials at the crossing, but he was spotted by a Customs officer who alerted the Border Patrol, Endicott said. He admitted being an MS-13 member, and he has a lengthy criminal history, Endicott said. The man faces criminal prosecution for trying to sneak back into the U.S. due to his status as a deportee, a more severe U.S. criminal penalty than an undocumented alien who is caught for the first time entering the country, Endicott said. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in a news release, said the man "admitted to being a member of the violent street gang" Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13. A report in the San Diego Union-Tribune said the Salvadoran national, 34, "told investigators he had been a member of Mara Salvatrucha since age 18, and had been fully involved with the gang in New York City."I mean, this TRASH seems to be the typical type of illegal who'se been sneaking into the country. And idiots like HIM are the very reason we NEED fences, armed guards, whatever it takes...to keep them OUT! more

Resolved Question: Is The Mara Salvatrucha gang, commonly known as MS-13 a threat to America ?

Border Patrol agents arrested a member of the violent Mara Salvatrucha gang early Wednesday morning, said Greg Salinas, a Border Patrol spokesman. The gang member, a 37-year-old Salvadoran man, has a long criminal history in the U.S. and has been deported twice before, Salinas said. Agents from the Laredo North station caught the man, whose name was not immediately available, on a ranch near Mines Road at about 2 a.m. on Saturday, Salinas said. He was with several other people who were also illegally entering the country. The man had tattoos identifying him as a member of the gang. Agents confirmed his identity through fingerprints, and found that he has served time in prison in the U.S. for burglary, Salinas said. The man was last deported in 2003, Salinas said. A third conviction for illegally entering the country is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The Mara Salvatrucha gang, commonly known as MS-13, originated in El Salvador and consists primarily of natives of that country. Most of the gang members caught by Border Patrol belong to that group, Salinas said. In the 2007 fiscal year, which began Oct. 1, 2006, and ended Sept. 30, 2007, Border Patrol Agents arrested 65 people who were identified as gang members, Salinas said. Of those, 35 were believed to be members of the MS-13 gang, he said. Since Sept. 30, there have been 30 suspected gang members arrested in this sector, with 20 of those thought to belong to the MS-13 gang. "We consider them a criminal organization – that's how big they are," he said. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=19118078&BRD=2290&PAG=461&dept_id=569392&rfi=6 more

Resolved Question: Are there more gangs today then back in the 80s and 90s?

Back when I was 12-13 (1995-1996) I heard a lot about gang activity (not there's really any where I live, most people are barely at the first stage of wannabe status if they are interested) but I was noticing that the History Channel has a new series called Gangland and I was wondering if it was still big today? And why? The episode I watched last night talked about the gang, MS-13, which is more recent and started in L.A. and went all the to the suburbs of Northern VA?Are these people still from a ghetto style, low class lifestyle? more

Resolved Question: Do you agree with my thoughts on illegal immigration?

I'm 100% against illegal immigration.I think it hurts American citizens both finically, & socially. It costs American taxpayers more money. That's because illegal immigrants get free health care when they go to the E.R.It hurts the U.S. socially, because illegal immigrants hurt American neighborhoods, & their children(anchor babies) hurt the U.S. public school system. Also the violent Hispanic street gang MS-13 which started in El Salvador, is spreading through out the U.S.That's mostly due to illegal immigrants from Central America. I know that illegal immigrants do some good things for the U.S. economy. But how many more millions of unskilled & uneducated workers do we need? The bad out weighs the good by far.I would give illegal immigrants a chance to become U.S. citizens. They would have to learn English, go through a background check & pay a $5,000 fine. They would also have to take & pass a course in U.S. history. Then they could become U.S. citizens. I wouldn't allow them to bring any extended family members with them to the U.S.(chain migration) They could only bring spouses & children.I would deport every illegal immigrant convicted of a felony. Then I would secure our borders with both Mexico & Canada.I would hire 5,000 more border guards to secure the Canadaian border & 10,000 more to secure the Mexican border. To stop illegal immigrants & drug traffickers from coming through our Southern border. And to stop possible Islamic terrorists from coming through our Northern border. more

Resolved Question: Should we do away with removal hearings for illegal immigrants, and ship them stright out of the country ?

Read this off of machiko_146 's post Franklin Ademir Rodriguez, a 25-year-old Salvadoran national and member of the street gang Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13). Rodriguez, also known as "Hollywood," boasts a lengthy criminal history that includes an assault and battery conviction for helping other MS-13 gang members permanently paralyze a 13-year-old boy by stabbing him in the spine with a sharpened stake. The victim is now confined to a wheelchair for life. ICE officers arrested Rodriguez earlier this month at his place of employment at Budget Rental Car at Boston Logan Airport after he failed to appear for his removal hearing. He was left to run around free, while he waited for his court date ( that he never showed up to ), and the thing that gets me, is the pro-illegal movement thinks we are to tuff on illegal immigrants already . more
