by teenage youths? Every day on Midlands news I hear of gangs of youths bullying disabled or vulnerable residents. Often the residents are arrested for trying to stop the youths. I asked on here why it happens in England more than other European countries I've been to, where youths don't harass people, and I got told to shut it, because of England's international Mary Poppins type reputation that they like to uphold. more

Resolved Question: How can I stop youths using my windows as football goals?

In front of my flat (1st floor) there is a patch of ground, and local youths (aged 14-16) like to use the windows of the flats to aim their footballs at. I don't think they will break the windows but the whole building shakes everytime the ball hits. This can happen for hours a day. The landlord (local council) says there is nothing they can do even though it is against byelaws, because if I photo the kids I could be accused of being a paedophile, and the police say it's too trivial. Hello, my name is Waseem, i recently turned 18 on the 1st april, and just passed my driving test the day before. Two weeks later me and my friend went out to Derby for a "night-out". We drove there, planning to sleep in the car, do we took some pillows and duvets. When i got there the first thing i did was buy a parking ticket for an overnight stay. I locked the car and off we went to the Derby clubs. We started drinking and having a good time, but later on that night me and my friend got started on by some rough looking "chavs", they didn't look much older then us, one was quite large and white, the other was a tall black chap. The black guy seemed really quiet but the white guy was rather vigorous with us, he originally asked us for change and i told him honestly that we had none as we just spent it all on the drinks we had that night, which was the truth but he was having none of it. He then keep accusing us of lying and demanding change from us, so me and my friends took out our wallets (biggest mistake ever made) and went to show him we had no cash, my friend found 50p and gave him this, but i had no money apart from a reserve tenner incase we needed a taxi or something happened. He saw this hidden ten pound note and quickly grabbed the wallet and stole it out of it. I managed to snatch the wallet back off him and grab onto the tenner, but he didn't let go, he then began shouting and talking angrily and telling me to let go ,i kept saying "no, this is my money and you are not taking it" my friend insisted i just let him have it and we go on, because he saw that this guy didn't look like a friendly type and could of easily had a knife or worse a gun on him, the muggers friend also said "just give him the money man", eventually i gave up and let him take the money, to which he then shouted at two of his friends down the street and then fled up it. This was near the Westfield center in Derby, in the middle of the outdoor shopping area at nightime so no one was around. These two younger looking "chavs" (and you know they're chavs as they have their hoods up, trackie bottoms and look like they're going to kill you) came up to us and started on us for no reason. We we're having none of it and just walked off. As we walked off, i took a quick glance over my shoulder to see the whole group including the original pair following us down the road, they seemed to be speeding up too. Me and my friend then walked quickly to my car (this was about 6 minutes away, the whole time they followed us). The car was parked in a public car park, which was empty with the exception of 1-2 cars. When i got to the car i turned around but saw no one, although at this point i was still drunk, i was terrified for me and my friends safety, so i asked my friend for the car keys (who I gave at the start of the night to prevent me from drink driving later on, i clearly told him "no matter what do not give me the keys ok?") and with great resentment he did. We got in the car and i quickly switched on the engine and reversed back a few meters ready to turn out the exit. I went forwards then backwards to see if i could get a clearer look round the corner without getting out the car, but there was no sign of them, so believing we might of been safe i pulled up into the same car parking space and switched off the engine. Just to make sure, we went to the pizza shop on the corner of the car park as an excuse to see if they were still there, at this point i was still drunk but could think alot straighter, but we didn't pay much attention on the way to the pizza shop. After we ordered the pizza which took about 3 minutes, we walked out the shop and i looked around, at the end of the street to the left of me i believed i could see what was the gang of youths who had been following us, watching us from a distance. This alarmed me a hell of a lot so we went back to the car and the same procedure occured, i reversed and went forward and reversed and got ready to simply leave the car park and commit the offence i really didn't want to of drink driving (even though i had already done it by now). They still never showed, and in a final attempt to try and not be a criminal, i pulled up once more, putting our lives at risk just to obew the law. This is when it all became the most ironic night of my life, the police came out of nowhere and pulled up next to us, the officer asked for a breath test and i was over the limit by a not too large amount (it was a reading of about 46 I believe). They arrested me for drink driving and took me to the station. My friend was taken home. Then they carried out all their procedures etc etc and the rest you could say...well i find out what conviction i get on the 21st June this month. So, firstly, if you don't believe this story then simply do not comment ok, I'm not an average "lets make some havoc" type more

I am visiting London for a while and over the past year have heard of youths being stabbed by youth gangs for not giving them respect in the street; does this mean whenever you walk out in public you have to tell everyone you see that you respect them. Resolved Question: What needs to be done to help tackle anti social behaviour in the UK?

From my personal experience the police don't seem to have a handle on it at all. The perpetrators aren't even afraid of the police as they know "they can't touch me". What changes should be made? It seems that the current system is just not working. Should the police be arresting gangs of youths for "loitering"? Automatically arresting anyone who's drunk, high or in possession of a weapon? Automatic arrests for any form of criminal damage, vandalism, shouting abuse at people etc? I've seen the police called out many times to deal with gangs of kids kicking off in the street and nothing ever happens. The kids get moved on and the next night they're back in the same place doing the same thing.Killer - the best deterrent we ever had was when my husband's brother, a tattooed ex bodybuilder (who'd just got out of prison for GBH at the time) came down to stay and some kids kicked off outside - he went out with a shovel over his shoulder and asked if any of them wanted a go at someone who knew what he was doing. Unsurprisingly they all scuttled off, apart from a few who stayed around to talk to him because they thought he was "dead cool and 'ard like". He tried to give them the "stay in school or you'll end up like me" talk but it was wasted on them. They were too in awe of him I think.B t t D B - I'm sorry but these kids ARE violent! My husband's been threatened with a knife just for asking them to move on because they were waking our toddler up! A Domino's pizza deliveryman was also stabbed to death not far from where I live and so many deliverymen have been mugged that you can't even get a takeaway delivered! does my years of training as an ex-army-men give ME the right to encourage such types to engage me in physical showdowns , as to give me the opportunity to beat them up in front of public ? i mean, its pretty easy for me. I mean, I'm one heck of a phenomenally strong man and nothing makes me grin more than knowing at the age of 40 odd, I can still overpower any trash talking 'gangsta' on the streets ! you should see the way I administer those pressure holds , they really are quite effective. for instance, if one lad brandished a knife out at me - and bystanders did nothing (as expected) and simply watched in horror as to what the aftermath of it all would be, do I not have the right to de-arm the knife wielding man - apply a series of pressure holds and go as far as snapping his arm in 4 places ? why not ? the army taught me great things. one of them was to be a man. and look after the vulnerable and under privileged. In many ways, I'm a modern day super hero I guess. I really am gagging to get into the thick of action sometime this week, maybe in the capital where a lot of criminal scum loom. maybe there I can fully exploit the potential of years of army hand-2-hand combat training. is that okay now ? more

Every day i go to college i do not claim myself to be the best person in the world in terms of lessons etc, However i do see a vast amount of "Chavs" for those that do not know this term it means Council Housed and Violent, Thugs in another way. However what are all your opinions on this, They are throwing there lifes away at college these days and the tutors do not do anything to really stop this instead they give them what they want by suspensions that gives them more time on the streets, This new breed of youth today is vile sickening and disgusting they are like parasite`s, Every god forsaken day i read the newspaper only to find some couple has been murdered by a group of these thugs, Why dont the cops do something more real about this rather than just putting them away for two years, Honestly i read a story the other week about these old couple killed because of a gang of these thugs they were married for 70+ years At that moment i read that in the paper i almost shed a tear because these disgusting thugs are getting away with crimes like this, They should be killed. Those couple never deserved a fate like that... I see a polarisation in female youth. On the one hand you have girls who are reclaiming traditional feminine values and interests, and on the other we have “girl-gangs” and its sub-culture of violence. I live in London and only the other day I saw a pretty schoolgirl being harassed by a couple of girls wearing typical gang clothing. The schoolgirl cried: “help me, please!” and a man got off the bus, which I was on, and scared them off. Our car was on a SORN and kept on private property. One Sunday afternoon one of the gangs of youths with nothing better to do broke into the garage it was kept in pushed it out of the garage and set fire to it. They then sat, watched and jeered at the firefighters as they put it out. The firefighters advised us to remove it a.s.a.p as it would only attract more trouble. Th following day a friendly scrap man said he would take it to the local scrapyard for us and give us half of what he was paid for it. Of course we never expected to see him agian but were glad to get the car removed without any cost to us. How do we tell the DVLA (any forms etc) what has happend as we had no paperwork off the scrapyard and dont even know which one it was taken to. We have just renewed the SORn but want to get aorted out once and for all. more

Just read about a 71yr old granny up in court for "attacking" 17 yr old youth.Apparently this German born woman survived the second world war in Berlin, escaped over the Berlin wall and eventually settled in England. This poor woman has just been to court for prodding this 17 yr old in the chest after being harassed by him and his gang. What i would like to know is why the police are always so determined to pursue cases like this but reluctant to bring yobs to court for assaults etc. They are obviously just encouraging yobs to provoke assaults on them so they can get compensation. The injustice of it all makes me sick. Btw the granny got a conditional discharge but had to pay £50 costs. What do you all think.My main point is this, when a yob gets "assaulted" the police rush round to arrest the person that the yob has been provoking, but if the situation was reversed they often would not take any notice. That is because they like to take on the soft target. That is the police not the justice system! more

The problem is simply really. At my local corner store that I visit at least twice a day on a daily basis, I am having gangs of up to ten 16-17 year olds giving me evil stairs, insulting my family members ( mother and her partner, girl friend ) with rude sexual comments and gestures. I am having them also drive past me in cars, slow down next to me and point guns and knifes and say they are going to murder me. I am 31 years old, and I promise you I have done thing to fuse this situation other than stare at one of these kids about 3 weeks ago. He kept staring me out and I laughed at him as I thought he was being very childish. But now it's getting out of hand. I have told a community police officer that they give me gob outisde the shop and try to intimidate me, and make sexual comments to my mother and partner all the time. But the police just said report it when it happens. We all know that's not going make a blind bit of difference. These kids are now also bumping into my mother in our local town and still making these comments and threatning to kill her, rape her etc. I'm a big chap and would have no problem beating the living ***** outta them, but I dont want a criminal record for hitting minors. They are running me and my family scared so to speak ( well that's how it looks to them anyway ) and as a man they are testing my patience and pride and if this carrys on much longer I can see myself breaking the law and giving them a hiding they wont forget. Resolved Question: Am I fighting a losing battle living here?

I live in a really quiet and nice neighborhood that has a little park next to it and a school at the back of my house. The people are really friendly and I've truthfully enjoyed living here but over the past year we've started to get youths hanging around from Friday until Sunday and it's an absolute nightmare. The place is deadly quiet all week until these animals meet up and then all hell breaks loose. They'll drink, do drugs (I suspect) fight, insult passerbys, have sex in the streets, drive cars at all hours and play loud music from them as they meet up in their modified cars and wreck the little park and were so nasty they went around and stole all the flowers or cut the heads off them. They've taken to spray painting gang symbols and their names and when you come home they shout and you but my wife tells me to just ignore them as they're youths. I think that having this scum hanging around makes the place look rundown and nasty, they have no respect for anyone or anything and because of them hanging around we now have swastikas daubed on the school wall and children are afraid to go in on a Monday morning as some lie spaced out in the bushes from the night before, one parent found drugs and said her child was lucky not to have touched the needle when she found it. We've tried everything to get rid of them but they just won't budge and my wife is now talking about movie away as they're encouraging all the lowlife of the day to meet here, it's now started on week days my wife tells me as they must not have jobs and I worry for her. more

Resolved Question: Why is this, why are the black people so intent on crime?

It's a very sad state of affairs. I'm 75 years old and i think it's about time i had a say about what is happening in this counrty and see if anyone agrees. And before anyone accuses me, i'm no racist, i have lived a long life with many races and had many friends. But the world is changing. I will give you some examples. The past few years, myself, my friends and neighbours have all been attacked, mugged as they say and every time it was a black fellow, or a gang, Each time i get on a bus - there is almost always lots of noise and it;s always the group of blacks at the back who are the ones doing this, while everyone is just trying to get on with their journey. Why are they so loud and ignorant? My grandson and grand daughter got attakced and had their things stolen in the past 4 months. Again, it was black youths doing this. In my road today, there was a big incident where a fight was broken out over a gang of black kids not wanting to pay their bus fare and they put the driver in hospital. 7 kids against 1 man. cowards. they are like animals, always hunting in packs. But i bet on their own they are cowards. Resolved Question: what does my dream mean, again?

All i was seeing was eyes of three colour, Hazel brown, then Blue and last one is Red. I got scared and i didnt know what it meant, then later i saw a skull, did nothing but it was there. But not scary. Then after i saw a dream of a girl, who was coming home and her home area is pretty dark and dim security lights so it wasn't safe for her to go to but nevertheless she did, it was about 12am-1am and she was coming home and she was 2 yards away and there were about 5 or 6 boys there, basically a gang and they were following her, calling her with names and she started to walk fast to running and she kept running and for some reason i was there too and i was inside my own house building but hid behind a pillar of my apartment. Anyways, I didn't know what the girl looked like cos she was running but cudnt see her face. But as soon as the other side of the road, there were two guys around and grabbed her and basically assaulted her, i'm not sure if it was rape but i definately saw stabbing the girl. As i stood there, i was the coward who couldnt do nothing except watched this with horror i was also couldnt believe that is a residential area, somebody could have helped but like me, everyone would be scared too. The girl died of of course. I think about 2 weeks later as the police investigates who thse youths were. Every night i walk home from work there are these young 17/18 year olds sitting on the wall near my house drinking beer ..When i walk past they usually pass a comment like "hey four eyes " or other petty insults ,this has been happening for a few weeks but i try ignoring it,last night when walking home they started the same crap again so i turned around and said shut your mouth and go do something constructive with your lives instead of sitting around drinking ,one of the guys got off the wall and got in my face saying if i spoke that way to him and his mates again he would break a bottle off my face ..so i kept on walking away and when i got in my door i phoned the police they arrived but when they did ( a half hour later ) the gang had gone ..so there was nothing they could do..I know tommorow i will probably have the same crap from these youths ,so how should i react to it ? more

I originally read about this linked crime when it first happened and i thought it was horrendous but after looking further into what occured with this crime, it makes me sick to my stomach to think this is the world we live in and the sad thing is it is likely to go further downhill. I am referring to the murder in January this year of Michael Eccles, 43 who was attacked by a 20 year old and a 16 year old in an unprovoked attack. Mr Eccles had just been to a local shop and purchased wine and milk but never made it back home as he was savagely attacked metres from his front door. This happens all too often but i think i was shocked here by the utter callousness of the crime, the fact that it was unprovoked and the fact that the 16 year old says he was 'too drunk' to remember beating anyone up, after spending a day drinking vodka in a local nearby park. Drunk or sober, i find it hard to believe you would forget inflicting severe brutality on another person. It is sad enough when you hear of someone dying as a result of a gang-like fight but when it is someone who was a random victim so to speak, it, personally for me, sends shivers down my spine because you think, "this guy was just going about his daily business like we all do and he was, for no apparent reason attacked and his head was kicked in" At one point the 16 yr old youth even walked away from the victim, who was lying down on the ground, just so he could run back up to the man and punt him in his head. This is a sign of the times but i find it hard to fathom, drunk or not, why anyone would do this to someone else... I get problems were I live with gangs of youths who are hell bent on starting trouble. I am a skilled Martial Artist myself and I am pretty good at Kickboxing, and MMA. I have done various other Martial Arts which include locks, holds, breaks and take downs. Thankfully I have not had to use these yet, but the other day I was set on by 4 idiots and it got pretty scary. I managed to avoid a fight in the end but only after I threatened 3 of them with a metal chair! I carry lots of loose change in my pocket all the time just in case to use that to throw in the face or faces of assailants. I am thinking of carrying a chain in my coat just in case I end up in a situation I can't talk my way out of. They are a lot of cases were I live of people getting jumped on by groups and gangs and I don't want to end up another statistic! What type of chain is recommended for medium to close combat and is it more effective to swing it or wrap it around your knuckles. Unfortunately in group confrontation you have to do as much damage in the shortest possible time frame. It's either this or I will have to get in close and break joints or strike pressure points. This is my answer for GCSE coursework, but it seems a little short.. Have I missed anything out? :) The Hitler Youth Movement made sure boys were fit, healthy and strong, so they focused on sports such as boxing, athletics, throwing, marching and so on. They also had to wear uniforms similar to the SS and they had to look smart. The purpose of this was to train every young German boy to become soldiers for the future, and the skills taught to boys in the Hitler Youth would be useful for when they were in the war. For the girls, the Hitler Youth taught motherhood skills, like cooking and sewing. Girls also had to be able to make a bed. This was with the intention of encouraging them to be housewives in the future, and to have many children. Bringing girls up with these ideologies meant that they would be brainwashed and they would do as they were taught. Hitler Youth boys had to do some war work after the war broke out. Some of the war work included activities such as collecting scrap metal, warm clothing for soldiers, charity donations and sometimes even fighting fires. Hitler wanted to control young people and have all of their free time used up at Hitler Youth. This was to prevent any small gangs of youths rebelling against it and losing support. It seems to me that there isn't any real legislation limiting police powers. All the laws are what they can do, not what they can't do. It seems to me that the police can do whatever they like these days, even kill people. They can stop and search you without any suspicion. With all the stabbings recently there is even talk of increasing their powers. How much more powers do you want? They seem to govern themselves and make their own rules. To me the police are the worst criminal gang in the world. Worst than the mafia, the ira, al qaeda. They have been pulling the wool over everybodys eyes for years. It winds me up the way stupid people claim they risk their lives to protect us. Do they crap, this ain't America, it's Britain, where a cop is killed like once in every ten years. Yet in that period hundreds are killed by them. All that crap as well about it only being the minority who are bad when in fact it is the majority. All that crap from serving officers or former officers biased to fuck claiming they are only interested in helping us. Fair enough, we couldn't have a world without the police, and they do stop some crime, but it's mainly only small, easy targets, i.e. the drunks, just to get their numbers up and make it look like they are doing a good job. There ain't many people in the police who do it to protect the public, most just do it as it is a decent paying job, or as a way to get back at being a loser all their lives, or just to feel powerful. I have never seen or met a officer with common sense. Every situation is reacted disproportionally, as though it is a life threatening one. Everything is so over the top. Your incompetence knows no bounds. It must take about 5 of you to handle one drunk and even then you call for backup. You want respect yet treat the public like they are all criminals. Ok so i am now getting annoyed and angry by the amount of kids dieing due to guns in London mainly the numbers are horrific. OK now the agonising part. How do we get rid of this gun/gangster culture? I dont think its anything to do with the parents children dont pick up guns due to having a bad mother or father its a ridiculous thing to suggest. I do however speaking first hand and being a youth myself. I think the blame is sorely because of the people surrounding the children, external people such as gang members, girls and aspirations. i mean if you live in a poor neighbourhood and you dont get girls or you have no talent and you are surrounded by violent people this will definetly make you pick up a gun and people may not like this but girls and money are the main thing here. How to tackle it.
