Resolved Question: How much would my nintendo wii be worth in game?

I have a fully operating wii with a nun chuck and controller, set up manual, scart adpator thing, the scart wires, power pack, that strange little bar you stick on the top of your tv for the wii remote to connect to the wii, stand and all of the booklets it came with as well as the inner boxing. I don't have the outer box though. I have all of the packaging (excluding the box) and the following games; De Blob + Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon + Nights: Journey of Dreams Can anyone tell me on average what this is worth? I don't need reccomendations of where to sell. It'd just be nice to know how much all of this will be worth. + some of my nintendo ds games: Sims Castaway, My Animal Centre in Africa, Sonic Rush + Spyro: The Eternal Night. Thank you! I hope for answers soon! :) more

Voting Question: What should I do with my future ?

I have been unsure for a very long time now of what i wanna be when I'm older. But I've always had an interest in travel, nature, animals and languages. I'd love to learn a few languages such as french which i am learning currently and have oppertunities to travel places like France, China, Africa, America ext... When i was young I always said i want to work with wild animals like ones you'd find in a zoo and since I've always watched animal planet and found an interest in animal conservation and zoo's and have recently looked at univercity degrees in zoology. I have taken the A-Levels , Biology, French, Maths, Drama & Further maths recently to start this september My question is what career would suit best for these things i wanna do, what fits nicely with my alevels, and am i right in looking into a zoology degree ??? this is hard because there is a part of me that is creative and loves music and drama, and i would consider trying for television presenting, or into music industry, or becoming a teacher !!??! such different paths :( more

Resolved Question: Where can I buy a CD/DVD of embellishments for digital crafting/scrapbooking?

I would like to start some digital crafting. I already have various software products I can use for this (mainly from Serif), but would like to purchase a lot more embellishments. In particular I am looking for things like flowers, antique frames, ribbons, bows (and possibly things like silhouettes of fairies or animals). I can find downloads on the internet, but spend most of my time living in Africa and cannot download large files. I would rather therefore purchase a disk with the items of (presumably as pngs?). I do have an address in the UK, and usually have things sent there. If anyone can recommend a CD or DVD rom it would be great to know where I can purchase these. Thanks for your time. more

Resolved Question: Skincare at 25? Routine advice please.?

Hello! I'm a 25 year old woman and I'd like some tips on caring for my skin. I may start to ramble; if you can help with any part of this I'd be grateful! At the moment, I am quite blemish free and get occasional breakouts of spots on my face and shoulders. My skin has never needed much moisturiser and it's not especially sensitive, apart from the fact I'm pale and prone to burning if I'm not careful. I figured at 25, I may as well start a more structured routine If I am to stay this radiant until I'm 55! *Hehe* I ONLY use products that are as natural as possible, and definatley never tested on animals., BAUV approved is ideal. In England, this means I'm limited to Co-op, Marks and Spencers, Superdrug and Lush, along with a few wonderful, but more expensive brands like Weleda and Faith in Nature. I tend to shower in the evenings, (I live with lots of people), but sometimes I get a morning shower. I use Superdrug's cleansing face-wash while I'm in the shower. If my spots get really bad, (rarely), I use a mud mask. I'm thinking of doing this once a week, but I'd like to know if I should do this before, or after the Face-Wash I use? Once out of the shower, I have some Superdrug's own Cocoa butter body lotion. I LOVE the smell, and I'm using it as a moisturiser. (Not for my face). I have Lush's imperialis moisturiser for my face, but I can't keep spending that kind of money! Any recommendations ladies? So Far... Cleanse Face in Shower with superdrug cleanser (their equivalent of Clearasil) Moisturise Body and Face Dab some Tea-Tree stick on any spots before I go to bed. I also have some grease remover papers my friend gave me from Japan. I use these anytime during the day on my face and on the parts of my Specs that touch my face! Superdrug do a version, but they are powdered and I'd rather have some that just lift the grease. Anyone know where I can get some? Is there anything else I could be doing, and in what order. Does time of day matter? Finally, is it worth buying a block of pure Shea Butter to use as a moisturiser? I've found a website that imports from Africa. :)Like I said, I don't use products tested on Animals. Avon is most definatley off the cards! more

Resolved Question: Are there any organisations which give teenagers the opportunity to take part in voluntary projects in Africa?

Such as helping in villages to build houses or to help animals. I have heard about projects such as these and they are excellent for your CV aswell. I would like to take part in one within the next two years and it would only be possible if the organisation was run (or had branches) in the north-east of England meaning it would be possible for me to attend any meetings. more

Resolved Question: First time owner (C.K.C.Spaniel/Daschund/Labrador)...?

OK, first things first - yes, I've done my research ^^ I first wanted a beagle because of its intelligence and goofy ways, but the more I researched the more I wasn't as keen on adopting one because I would prefer a dog that didn't howl when it found something or be too risky to be off its lead/leash. I know, obviously, if I got a beagle it may not turn out like what I've read, but then I got into thinking about a Caliver King Charles Spaniel, a daschund and a labrador - narrowing down the pros and cons. These three breeds seem perfect and the health problems aren't putting me down because many of friends have labradors and my parents had a couple of daschunds them selves - living in Africa too! Here's a mouthful hard to swallow: C.K.C.Spaniels: Pros (for me personally) - Adorable! Amazing for the family, loyal, intelligent, VERY active (and I'd love a dog to have a lot of hyper times with, as I'm quite a hyper person and that I'm also 15, so I'd like to get distracted from Facebook and The Sims 3 ^^) and also said to be adjustable with cats (I have one cat who's turning 2 this year). Cons (again, personally) - Grooming seems to be a bit of a handful - especially if I am going to be handling a dog for the first time (my parents - not a problem, as one of my dad's dogs had around 4 litters in Africa! And my mum and dad had around 4-7 dogs any way) Daschund (shot haired): Pros - Extremely adorable (hey, dont we all want something to coo at once in a while?), quite active dogs and also, I suppose, easier to groom - oh, I've heard they can be quite fast little things, but then I've heard they need at least half of the average exercise of an average medium sized dog. Cons - I suppose I would like a dog to be able to run with and not get tired out as quickly and I've read that they're a bit like beagles and can get lost in their own worlds, as they were trained for sniffing out other animals. Labrador: Pros - the right size, friendly, easy to train, great for running with or letting off the lead/leash and a reliable dog and also easy to groom. Cons - I dont think I have any! LOL >< Wow! I bet you're bored out of your mind after reading that >< I'm quite a picky person as you can see, but I'll buy either of the breeds as a puppy (shelter, dont worry!). So the big question: Which of those three dogs are best for a first time owner (me, mostly - like I said before, my parents have experienced dog days and will obviously guide me to look after the dog!)? Thank you sooooooooooo much :D P.S. Need additional commentry? Just say so >< P.P.S Like I said before, I'm a very active, hyper person and would love to run around. My cat, of course, can be hyper but also tends to show off his claws -.- Which isnt the best thing... more

And he is in fact a liver chestnut. If you look carefully his point's are chestnut and not black. If he had black points he would be a bay, but as he doesn't, he's a liver chestnut. Also his mane and tail aren't true black. Tthe photo isn't a very good show of it. I'm only wanting to know what a horse like this would be worth outside of SA as I habe recently noticed a huge price difference in things, and as I'm moving overseas I'm trying to learn where that price difference lies. more

Resolved Question: How would I get into Animal Conservation?

Hi, My names Danielle and I'm 21 years old. I'm working in the elderly care industry. Since I was little I always wanted to work with animals. I don't have any A-levels as I quit college as I thought that I could work my way up and I have now realised that this is not possible or at least it's a lot harder to get into, I only have GCSE's so I was looking more at foundation degrees. At present I haven't a clue which direction to step in. I've been looking at volunteer projects in africa for work experience but I'm more leaning towards a foundation university degree. So I was wondering how to get into Animal conservation effectively and what is the best way to get into animal conservation, what university degree to start with? and if university isn't the best way which way would be best? Also is it too late to go to university? Or is it just a step in the right direction for the rest of my life? more

Resolved Question: What is that African themed song from the 90's called?

I think it was the 90's, and the video is of people dressed as animals in body paint, then near the end of the video, they all jump of a waterfall I think, then all their body paint washes off. It's currently being used to advertise "wild Africa" on the English TV Channel "Watch" It would be great if someone could tell who sings it and what it's called. Thank you in advance for your suggestions. more

Resolved Question: What career path best suits the description I'll give?

I want to do something with animals. I don't want to sit in an office and I wouldn't mind working in the zoo. Having saying that, I dream of going to Africa to look after orphaned elephants or tracking down giant river otters in the amazon. I would prefer this than working in a zoo because I would rather travel the world and see different places. A wildlife biologist comes to mind but does this job allow me to go around the world looking after animals and what exactly does a wildlife biologist do? I don't want to be a vet though.megan and sda, just dont answer because its pointless. more

Resolved Question: How many 'types' of vet are there? and what is difference between them?

I was wondering what each 'type' of vet does, and how many 'tpyes' there are. I've heard Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Surgeon and Veterinary Technician before. Which of these (or a different one) would work in a country like Kenya or Africa on Safari Animals, and what qualifications are required to become a vet in Kenya or Africa? Also what would be nice would be a list of all qualifications, like GCSE Grades & Subjects, A-Level Grades & Subjects etc required. Just ask for any additional information, then edit your answer once I've added it please. Thanks a lot in advance, Liam.@birdgirl: Thanks for clearing up veterinary nurse and technicians for me. Resolved Question: Do you like my story so far?

Hi have to write a stroy for english about a collector so this is the strart. It didnt have to be that long but I just write and write and write. Oh and im only 13, ok? Here you go --- Chapter one. Doll Face. I woke up, yawned and stretched my little legs out of my bed. As I slipped on my pink rabbit slippers I hobbled over to the mirror and found myself looking over at my very pale face and abnormally huge eyes. My friends call me doll face, they say that I remind them of a china doll. Shuffling along my floor towards the door picking up old clothes for the washing pile I suddenly stop. I stop because as I open the door I see a pair of legs (with jeans on and a pair of scruffy trainers to match) dangling from the ceiling. “Could you give me a little help here, Olivia?” Ah, It was my dad. He’s forever doing something not very interesting in the morning (gardening, baking, tidying), but the loft? “Um, yeah sure dad, what can I help you with?” It was only June so I don’t think we were putting up the Christmas decorations yet. “Look I found something of your mothers.” Something of my mothers’. My mum isn’t dead or anything horrific like that. She’s just on holiday, a very long holiday. Well she says she’s on holiday but really she’s travelling the world. Last time I spoke to her she was sunbathing-In Egypt. I don’t really mind her going away, but I do miss her. She phones every day at 6pm if she remembers or isn’t at some wild Ibiza party or counting Lions in Africa. The letters she sends me are pretty cool though. She sends me all the pictures of her and famous landmarks, saying the how hot (or cold) it is, people she’s met, animals or just anything. They normally come about once a month because that’s how often she travels. She promises she will take me to the best parts. She is really is going everywhere, and the thing she is she’s going to Afghanistan next month, even she is scared but really excited. I’m just not so sure. “What? What have you found?” My dad was still dangling there trying to pull himself up, but he is no Mr. Muscles. “Um, well first could u put that mini step ladder thingy under my feet, and then I’ll pass it down.” I looked over at the corner where the mini step ladder thingy was kept, picked it up and put it under his scruffy trainer covered feet. “Ahhh, thanks dear, right.” He said straightening up his shirt and brushing of the dust. “Lookie here” My dad was now using his fingers and stretching up, pulling forward the object still half in the loft. “uuhhh uhhh uhh uh uh, almost got it, Wow, here, here we go.” Now holding the large object in between his two palms. “What is it, is it a box?” This, thing was defiantly large and not quite square and the bottom of it was the only bit I could see as it was under a dusty grey sheet. “Nope, not a box. A house.” Um, yeah it was large but not that large, a house for mice or something? “A house for what?” I pulled of the grey sheet and the dust went everywhere, but underneath a miniature of a beautiful Victorian mansion was revealed. “Wow” There was a moment of silence as I kneeled down to admire the beautiful dolls house. It was fully furnished with lovely china lights and silk and wooden sofa’s. There was even floral wallpaper covering the, what looked like the living room and bedrooms. Everything looked so real and perfect like it was a shrunken down humans home. Every item was carefully sewn, stitched, moulded and generally made beautifully. When I dug deeper into the mansion I found a small family of Victorian people. Each of them wearing handmade clothes. There was a mother, father and two little girls one looked slightly older than the other. They were incredibly realistic with silky hair and porcelain skin; their eyes were big, just like mine and were made of turquoise, white and black glass that made them look so real. They were so tiny and slender. The mother had on a corseted cream dress and silk cream pumps and her hair was a dirty blonde colour, the father was wearing a very smart dark green waste coat, white cotton shirt and velvet dark green trousers and his hair was chocolate brown hair, the girl that looked the oldest had hair colour of her fathers and was wearing a silk pink dress and lilac pumps with tiny jewel that looked like amethyst one each, the youngest girls hair was the same as her mother’s but was wavy and she had on a pale blue silk dress and matching pumps with a tiny stone one each like her sisters but the stone looked more like a safire. I couldn’t get over how precise and delicate each looked. Then the silence was broken by my dad. “So darlin’, you like it? It’s pretty smart, right!?” “Yeah, it’s amazing, it’s more than amazing.” I said that very slowly and quiet, I was still hypnotised byhypnotised by the exquisite features in the family and house. “Take it you like it then. I think it’s your mothers anyway, it’s not mine! I remember her putting it up there when we moved in to this house.” “Who gave it to her?” Maybe someone made it or had it made for her. “Her granddad, so I’ve been told. So that would be your great granddad, apparently he made for her birthday when she was 10 years old, just like you and the people were just little figures and your mums grandma made the clothes for them and did something for the hair. Don’t ask me how I know this, I think your mother said it a while ago.” And all I could say to that was nothing. I couldn’t stop looking, the kitchen was fascinating, there was no fridge, just wooden cupboards on the wall and units with real drawers. Just next to the kitchen was a dining room with a show case of miniature china plates and cups, there was a grand table and chairs all wooden and painted even more brown. In the centre of the tableIn the centre of the table was a tiny vase of paper tulips which were yellow to match the yellow floral wallpaper. “Righty ho, I’ll leave you to it.” My dad closed up the loft, walked round me and went down the stairs. I watched him go but then I picked up the mansion and carefully tip-toed into my bedroom. I put it in the corner in my room and placed the four people in front of it. The mansion front was facing the wall so I could see into the many rooms. I was lying in front of the grand home staring at it; there was something, just something magical about it. Chapter 2. Aladdin’s Cave. Charity Shops are incredible things. All sorts of golden rubbish hiding in every corner. One girls rubbish is another girl’s treasure. The charity shop just along the road from me is just about the size of a small room. There is everything from old vintage clothing to not so vintage DVD’s and toys. Piles and piles of bin bags of unwanted things come in every day so there’s always somethinthere’s always something new that someone else might find perfect for whatever reason. My dad says it’s like Aladdin’s cave I say it’s like heaven! “Where are you going?” Dad came into the living room and spotted me putting on my shoes. “Oh, just along to the charity shop to checkout whatever’s there.” “Okay darlin’, don’t be long” Dad winked and went back though to the kitchen followed by 2 posh cats (one Siamese called Harley Short and one Persian called Tiffany Long). I went up stairs to get my money and took another look at that amazing house, and then I went back down stairs. Whilst I was walking along the street so many thoughts filled my head all of them about the mansion. I don’t know what there is to question about it but there seem so many questions. Yes, I know it was my mums, I know it was made by her granddad for her birthday, but what else? There might be nothing else to know, but I have a funny feeling there is. As I reached the Charity SAs I reached the Charity Shop I pushed open the door and said ‘hello’ as I always to and normally I hear a ‘hello’ back. Nope, no hello. They were properly just around the back sorting out new bin bags full of stuff. I said ‘hello’ a little louder and out stumbled Cassandra, she’s one of the volunteers, and my best friend’s big sister. “Hiya! Sorry we just had some new stuff, cool stuff too. Well, unusual stuff!” Cassandra was a tall girl with gorgeous olive skin, her hair is shiny black and falls below her shoulders, her and her sister look really alike but Jasmine (who is my best friend) has more of brownish hair that is above her shoulders. “Come here, I’ll show you this!” Cassandra beckoned me over and showed me round the corner. I looked round and saw nothing out of the ordinary, just a few bin bags and teddy bears. “What am I supposed to be looking at?” Cassandra pointed over to a shelf. “Wow, it’s like a mini village!” There lined up on the shelf was a series of miniature bThere is heaps more but I can't be botherd copy and pasting it all :P Judging by that, Like it ? yeh or nope .... more

Resolved Question: Year Seven English homework, is this ok?

Hey, I'm in year seven and for my English homework we had to write an article about Why The Rhinos are Extinct. It had to be for a really young audience, (5-7 years old) Is this all right? Once there was a type of animal called the Rhino. They lived in faraway places like India, Sumatra, Borneo, Nepal, Vietnam and Africa. They were hunted for their horns, which some people believed to be magical. They were used in many Chinese medicines. They also died out because the place where they lived was destroyed. They became extinct (they all died out)in the year 2013, because the people, who hunted them, cut off their horns and killed them. It is a shame that they are extinct, because they were amazing animals. Is it all right? Thanks!EDIT: You have to imagine that we are in the future and looking back on why the Rhinos died. We have to use really simple language as well, because, as I said before, it is ment to be for a young audience. more

Resolved Question: What will have happened to the elephant?

I've just read that a mother and her one year old daughter have been killed by an elephant, while on a safari-type holiday in a game reserve in Africa. They were all walking with a guide. The others were able to run to safety. Am I the only one who thinks it was lunacy to go walking in a game reserve and taking a one-year old on such a holiday? Also, it doesn't say what happened about the elephant. I sincerely hope it wasn't shot. They are the most magnificent animals and it may have had a calf nearby and it would have been protecting it's territory from all those stupid humans. more

i want to take my cat with me from london to south africa, but most people say iw ill proberbly have to put him into the cargo department of the plane. but i have heard that therre are airlines who allow animals on the seat next to you. any one know of such airlines? any advice?my cat has the micro chip and injections, im aware of the paperwork etc. basically what i want to know is what airlines allow then to travel in the cabin, then i can book my journey that way with my cat by my side ,rather with a few stop overs than a direct flight with my cat in the cargo section alone. more

Resolved Question: relationship advise...............?

hiya, i have been talking to this girl I went to school with her but never really acknowledged her. But now she does what i do Work as a work exp at the same vets but not at the same day. So I was talking to her a bit on facebook about the vets and we started chatting about other stuff. Then I found out we have so much in common. like we both watch 'life' and 'planet earth'. We are reading maniacs and she's goes to a college where she's training to work with animals and I'm going there next year and she says she really looking forward to me going there next year. We were having a nice talk yesterday and like we have the same ambitions cos I want to go to Africa when I'm 18 and she does to. She calls me unique - but in a good way - (her words) as I'm quite an emotional guy and i care about animals a lot - also I'm a vegetarian. She thought i was completley different to what she thought i was - as I'm quite a muscley build so she must of thought im not caring and up for a fight or w/e. But i do go to the gym 6 times a week though. Do you think anything would happen in the future? more

Resolved Question: If God exists why is there so much suffering in the world?

David Attenborough made a very good point when he said "when Creationists talk about God creating every individual species as a separate act, they always instance hummingbirds, or orchids, sunflowers and beautiful things. But I tend to think instead of a parasitic worm that is boring through the eye of a boy sitting on the bank of a river in West Africa, a worm that's going to make him blind. And [I ask them], 'Are you telling me that the God you believe in, who you also say is an all-merciful God, who cares for each one of us individually, are you saying that God created this worm that can live in no other way than in an innocent child's eyeball? Because that doesn't seem to me to coincide with a God who's full of mercy'. When you give your answer please state any bible scriptures that you use and also state your religion. I also don't want to hear the answer because it's the last day as that doesn’t answer much. I want to know why God would create such an animal as the parasitic worm. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Should I take a F1 serval Cat.?

My friend called me from london saying he had 1. I saw these beautiful large cats on the internet and after doing a bit of reading about them they seem amazing. I love the size of them. Do they really make good pets because they are half wild lepord?? Its nearly 2 feet tall would it just kill me?.... and my lovebirds? Resolved Question: Where would you most like to visit?

I like to be different. I wanna do a road trip from Somalia to South Africa, check out the wild, see some wild animals, watch the sun set in the open, watch some amazing waterfalls, enjoy different cultures (not something Western), chat with the locals, drink with them. I would LOVE to visit Africa. It's so natural and exotic, which is exactly why I don't wanna visit Australia or New Zealand - they're not any different from America. They're almost mini-Americas.Tanzania, Kenya, and Botswana are some countries I'd love to see. more

Resolved Question: Why is nothing in the free world free?

we hear here in the west we live in the free world but in africa and the middle east people are free to build houses without permission or land ownership, kill animals, dig wells, farmland, don't pay tax etc etc is the term "free world" a bit of orwellian spin.free to get a education or forced? here in the u.k if your child dosnt go to school you can be sent to prison. Education or Indoctrinationyes its free if you pay for internet service and there exceptions to the rule but in these so-called despot countrys people are enjoying more freedoms than we are in fact we are trapped in a system that we never asked to be entered to be inthere are freedooms for people who live in the rain forest they have no police no goverment telling what they can and cant do.The food is free the water is free the house is free the energy is free.Slavery had a direct link with economics the slaves needed food and shelter from the landowner. And in return he took away there God given rights.I dont feel i am free to walk down by my river and dance around. If i did i would probaly be taken into a mental hospital against my own free will.Free as long as i pay for a passport for the privilige more

Resolved Question: Why do Britain's national parks have people living in them?

In America, Canada, Australia, Africa, India and so on National Parks are areas that are set aside for wildlife, they are natural environments with full ecosystems, but in Britain national parks hardly even have trees or large animals and they all have people living in them which is strange. Why is that, why don't we have a national park that shows the way Britain used to look a big forest full of wolves, bears, lynx etc they even have parks like that in Germany and Poland. What you are saying is true man is a part of nature, but and its a big but man has destroyed so much of nature, for that reason I do beleive that areas of wilderness should be set aside for the sole purpose of being the last refuge of big animals, for example in Britain setting a side a portion of the Scottish Highlands for animals and leaving them to do their thing is the least we can after all "man" has exterminated these animals from these isles why? because he cant live with them on his turf, which is why we have national parks so they can have their turf more

Resolved Question: Working with animals in Africa?

Ok, so at the moment I'm at college doing A levels, one of which is biology (I've also had previous experience helping out at a vets). I'd like to be able to work with animal conservation in Africa, I think it would be fascinating. I'd just like to know if anyone knows how I could do this/what it involves/when I could do it/if I would be paid. Thanks! :)'Anonymous', I would have thought people would have used their common sense to figure out the reason why I wanted to work in Africa, I know what the situation there is thank you very much. If I had just wanted to look after the animals or whatever you're trying to say, I would be asking about working in a zoo, not about working on the other side of the world away from everything I know purely to HELP these animals. more

Resolved Question: I found this short story and really liked it, what do you think?

'Wings of Dreams' This story is about a girl from a land, a land of rolling hills that stretch as far as the eye can see. The landscape is alive with colours, from the rich purple of the jacaranda trees to the fiery reds of the flame lily. While the green of Acacia tree with their distinctive umbrella shape create unimposing silhouettes across the western savannah where cascading waterfalls spill over valley walls with a thundering force that fills you with an unspeakable energy. To the east of this land the waterfalls are tamer, they simply dance with a delightful elegance hidden by mountain forests. The forests of this region are luscious and the smell of pine seems to contain a magical essence with the power to invigorate the weary. This land, this wonderful land is beautiful beyond imagination and is intensified by the glorious sunlight. The sun in this majestic place warms you from the inside out. It is the kind of sun that seems to almost live within you even after it has set. This land is called Zimbabwe. The girl is not more than 11 years old, energetic and somewhat boyish. Her spirit unwavering, believing that anything is possible and that people can achieve whatever it is their heart desires. She is slightly tall for her age and has incredibly long legs which earned her a series of nicknames, ranging from ‘legstrong’ to ‘daddy longlegs’. Her hair is a brownish golden colour slightly bleached from her endless days in the sun. The texture of her hair is soft but incredibly curly and often in an attempt to control its unruliness is pulled back into a tight bun secured by rather large hair clips. Often after school the girl would hop on her red and blue BMX bicycle and cycle around her neighbourhood or venture to the nearby game reserve. On this particular day, she cycled along the street down a fairly steep hill until she came to a cross roads, left was the road into the city and right was the dusty road which ran parallel to a game reserve. The reserve was filled with a delightful array of animals ranging from giraffe to wildebeest and as she delighted in seeing these animals she made the turn right. A few hundred metres after cycling down the dusty road she stopped as she saw two figures scrambling under the game reserve fence, trying to make their way to the dusty road. Their manor was frantic and nervous almost as if they were escaping something. They looked around them checking if they were safe. She felt anxious and nervous but they had not spotted her. Once the men had pulled themselves from under the fence they grabbed their bags and ran off in the opposite direction. They did not run for long and soon they began walking calmly, although they did retain some swiftness in their steps. Their heads were held high and she couldn’t help think that their walk now represented not a desperate urgency, but an achievement or victory or maybe it was the comfort of safety and security. But who were these men and where had they come from? Well at this time she was living in the Zimbabwe boarder town of Mutare. This is the eastern highlands where the country boarders with Mozambique. Mozambique had been plagued with civil war from 1975 to 1992. The two men were boarder jumpers seeking refuge in the breadbasket of Africa. Crossing the boarder for a better future, to a place where food and work was plenty. This was a place where they could have what their hearts desired, maybe not childhood desires but the fulfilment of basic needs, like the ability to feed their families and to live in a place free of war and strife. Zimbabwe was their refuge. Today Zimbabwe stands with the highest inflation rate in the world and over 90% unemployment. What will be the future of Zimbabweans, will it be a life of constant struggle and the heart break of families torn apart? Who will tell this little girl that to reach her desires, she may have to crawl under the fence of the game reserve into Mozambique? Who will tell her that one man wishes only for his desires to be had but his desires have a price, the price of the nation. And finally, who will tell her that the world is letting him have it? more

Resolved Question: Do agree that in today's fast paced life, that every Mum needs some time to herself...preferably in a spa?

Even leopard Mums...! London, July 9 (ANI): It seems that leopards too believe in beauty treatments, for a wild big cat was recently caught on camera taking a break from her cubs with a relaxing dip in an outdoor spa hot tub. She even found time for a rest on a lounger after her wash. In the picture, the big cat can be seen creeping onto the balcony of a cabin in Tintswalo Safari Lodge, in South Africa. Guests stood at a safe distance and watched the leopard, capable of killing a buffalo, slip into the warm bubbling water at dusk. The big cat took her dip outside the lodges spa centre, usually frequented by human visitors for pampering and beauty treatments. "We were all watching from a safe distance because this was a wild big cat, it was absolutely amazing to watch her take a bath just like one of us," the Telegraph quoted Mike Clarke, from Tintswalo Safari Lodge, which lies on the edge of the Kruger National Park, as saying. "We have had a few leopard mothers who stay close to the lodges because of the safety of it when they have cubs. "This mum must have decided it was time for some time to herself and decided to come over to the spa. "She acted just like a person might do after a hard day at work or with the kids. "After she had relaxed and decided she was clean enough, she simply got up and made her back into the bush, it was incredible," he added. Clarke, who helps run the 5,000-a-night lodge, revealed that the cat was caught on camera just three weeks ago by staff at the park. "We offer everything you could imagine at the park, but nowadays we are getting leopards, lions, buffalo and even herds of elephants coming through, it's a very special experience," he said. "Obviously we make sure all the guests are safe because these are still wild animals and our wardens make sure everyone is aware of what's going on," he added. (ANI)Edit: No clue Haz...lol..maybe they've had as bad a day as i did! Maybe we all need some spa time...! more

Resolved Question: Am I less of a man because I care about animals?

It only seems to be chicks that get reallybothered by animal cruelty. Like a lot of guys can laugh it it and don't seem to be bothered at all. But if I see even the slightest bit of animal cruelty it ruins the day for me and I can't stop thinking about it. I wouldn't say I get depressed but it really bothers me. Sometimes when I'm on the internet aswell I look things up knowing it will upset me but I can't help it. I feel as if i need to know. Like I came accross this video right. There was a description above the video. After reading it i though fuck, I'm not watching that. Ended up watching the video. Well half of it anyway. Fuck. Was worse than anything I could ever imagine. It took me hours to get to sleep for nights after. For like thewhole week aswell i couldn't focus on anything, just kept getting flashbacks of the video. Anyway turns out other people i know also saw the same video and thought it was pretty funny. The fuck? What's the deal with that like. This video basically ruins me and they can just laugh it off. I feel tempted to post a link to the video but i wouldnt do that to you guys. Although I doubt you'll understand what the fuck I'm talking about without seeing it. So yeah, am I a woman because this stuff bothers me? Funny thing is, I don't give a shit about the probems people have. Famine in Africa, couldn't care less. I put this in the Vegan section because you guys probably care. Thanks if you took the time to read that by the way.Hold on, I'm not vegan. Hell I'm not even vegetarian. I had a steak that filled my plate yesterday. Hot pan, 15 seconds either side, nice and red in the middle mmmmmmmmm. Anyway. I still really care, just not enough to stop eating meat. Don't judge me because of it though. The cruelty I'm talking of is not specific to the meat indursty. I'm talking cruelty in general. All the sorry shit that goes on in China especially. I know me not eating meat wont make one bit of difference. more
