I am installing a 3/4 HP craftsman garage door opener. While I was installing the safety sensors, the door would come down and then go back up stopping about 5 ft off the ground. So I started adjusting the up limit and eventually over compensated so that when the door finally did go up it slammed into the bumper stop bolt and now I'm at a loss for how to release the tension...I tried loosening the tension on the chain, but everytime I push the button it keeps digging into the rubber bumper, and moving back like it hasn't reached its stopping point to where I overadjusted it. so if anyone can understand this, please give me whatever advice you can, because sears/craftsman wants to charge me $130.00 to come out and "reinstall" it. Please help!!!! moreResolved Question: My feral cat is missing and I have not seen him for 6 hours now? Help!!!!!?
My family and I just adopted a 2-month old feral maine coon kitten, and he is very nice and cuddly unlike other feral cats. He had just been getting adjusted to being held, and this morning my brother was holding him when he spontaneously made a run for it, hiding behind an antique cabinet. My brother made the stupid mistake of leaving to get me and my mom instead of waiting for it to come out and when we came back the cat wasn't behind the cabinet anymore. We have been searching EVERYWHERE for 6 hours. I am especially worried that he has gone into the garage, where there is no air conditioning and it's about 112 degrees because the door was open for a short time while my mom was doing laundry. We have set out plates of food in every room so that we can see if any of the food gets eaten to make sure he's still in the house. Any other tricks to get him to come out? Should I be worried about him? Thank you!!!!!!!! moreResolved Question: my garage door is hard to raise , how do i adjust the springs?

I have a chamberlain bran new.. installed and when i first tried to run it.. would not stop and hit the bolt.. had to disconnect the chain.. and reconnect after adjusting.. it would not go in the opposite direction.. would just sit there nad hit the bolt.. so I went ahead and put it at the opposite end to try and adjust the limitor.. Well instead it went in the opposite direction and got stuck against a bolt.. so after alot of back and forth.. i finally put it in the middle and turned the limitors down while it was on.. so i ran it.. was going in the up position fine.. and then got close to cut point and stopped.. from this point on.. it will only try and go in that same direction.. cm at a time.. will not go in the opposite direction.. but at least its not hitting the bolt right? ANyone have any insight on this? My main problem now i guess is once it gets to a certain spot it wont go the opposite direction.. nothing is in a bind.. nothing is loose or too tight.. sensors working fine.. everything... but thatYes.. I actually swapped it with craftsman, same exact model.. being they are made by chamberlain.. only thing i did was swap the drive it self.. everything else was fine.. after much debate I finally got support on the line.. and they where no help.. took the unit back and found some good OEM sensors for the old unit.. works like a charm.. the universal remotes work but the universal sensors dont.. so that was my main problem on the old unit.. the new one just was messed up.. took it back and got my money back. Thanks though! best answer for you! moreResolved Question: Basic care for vintage Stratocaster guitar?
I have a 1979 Strat that i've been using for a little over a year. It's my first electric and I haven't done much with it besides change strings every now and then. It's usually kept in the case when it's not played. (sometimes closed, sometimes case door is open) It came with some dings and chips on the tail but overall the paint is great and there is not much checking and just a few hairline marks on it. (It's defiantly been gigged/road worn) I'm almost positive it was kept in storage in a garage before I bought it because the guitar/case had a gasoline aroma to them. (mostly gone now) I took off the pickguard and checked inside and the wood looks ok. No mold or anything. The fretboard does have some random small chips where the lacquer has come off, mostly on the sides of the neck, resulting in some slight darkening of the wood at those spots. (the chips on some of the frets isn't discolored, just noticeable at certain angles that the lacquer is gone) Anywho, I get some fret buzzing here and there that restringing and adjusting the intonation hasn't been able to clear up. (I know, I know. It needs a new tune up) I had a luthier check it out and only thing off he said was that some of the fret dividers need to get hammered back down. (had a triangle shaped tool that could see if the frets were raised out too high. Also due to it's age, there is some rusting on the bridge/saddle and intonation screws. (plus 2 of the 4 neck plate screws on the back are rusty) I'm not sure if this would affect the vintage/collector value to have some of the hardware replaced because of rust or not. (tuning pegs aren't too bad, just need to be buffed up or something) What would you recommend for standard maintenance of a guitar of this type and to keep it from deteriorating more? Any thoughts on replacing metal parts/affecting value? Please don't flame. I'm a newb player, but i've always wanted this era guitar and had the chance to get it, so I did. :-) moreResolved Question: How's my friend and I's first chapter?
Chapter One: At nine o’clock in the evening, nearly after an entire day spent laboring over the project, my work was done. Before me stood a worn, rusting car—for my money only had worth at the junk yard—morphed by my modifications, though appearing to be usable none the less. This was the result of my endless dreaming, the next leap forward in human technology… the first ever time machine. “Lexi,” I called, cleaning the oil residue from my hands with a thin rag, “Come out here for a second!” In a few moments, my younger sibling appeared in the garage doorway. “What is it Maia?” she inquired, when her eyes suddenly became locked on the time machine. “Oh my God…” she breathed, her gaze subject to the wonder of my contraption, “Is this what you’ve been working on for so long?” “Yeah,” I chortled. Hell, sometimes she got annoying with the simplest of questions, “I’m testing it out right now, and I need you to film it.” She remained motionless, dazed in awe. When I called her name once more, she seemed to have broken free from that enchantment, nodded, and went to retrieve the video camera. I adjusted a few things in the time she was absent, checking the fuel tank, tightening a few bolts…. She had just returned when I finished recalibrating the set time—five minutes into the future. As the red light flashed to life and the deep, reflective lens of the camera was aimed at me, the experiment began. I cleared my throat. “The date is July 19, 2010, the time being exactly 9:05pm. Today, I will travel exactly five minutes into the future using this modified vehicle.” I motioned to the car resting behind me. My mind blanked; professionalism was not a practice of mine. After a brief pause, I decided to feed that anxious hunger growing rapidly within me. “Well,” I sighed, a grin taking root upon my lips, “I suppose I should start then.” I waltzed over to the time machine, seating myself in the weathered driver’s position, and placed the key in the ignition. “Wait, Maia!” Lexi cried, freezing my hand just before it started the engine. “Aren’t you too dang young to drive?” I tossed my gaze. “I won’t be freaking driving.” I told her. “I just need the protection of the car in case the vortex between here and five minutes ahead is…intolerable.” With that, I closed the door, and turned the key. The time machine roared to life, the dashboard bursting alight with gauges and meters no car manufacturer would ever dream existed. My lips curled in sustained adrenaline, quavering hands grasping the wheel, I began to travel. Originally, the motion was smooth and flawless, then, the car rattled. Plumes of black smog choked from the exhaust tubes, filling the air with a putrid scent as the machine forced itself through time. This was not falling in accordance with my plan; calamity was in my wake. Hastily, I fumbled for the silver key that had given life to this monstrosity, though discovered with much disdain that it was firmly clamped in the ignition. I was too frightened to merely step out of the time machine, for a flurry of color had already begun swirling outside the windshield. “No!” I yelled. “Stop, stop, stop!” My voice had dipped into a slightly lower octave, cultivating a gently hollow edge as the chaos proceeded. Panting, feeling as though my flesh had become the sun’s surface, I began to watch my dream shatter. Death seemed to be much closer than the future. After what had seemed to be an eternity, the machine jolted to a halt. I forced myself into the open night, no longer in my garage, but instead in a field of dry grass under a clouded sky. The time no longer seemed to be at nine o’clock, but rather before that, at an overcast dusk. With unrelenting coughs ravaging my throat, I staggered toward a faint haze of light glowing just beyond the horizon. My legs lifted as though enormous cinderblocks weighed them down, allowed only a brief moment in the air before being restrained again. Vertigo consumed my mind, the city lights surfacing into view resembling that of the blur whilst in the time machine. Alas, my body could not withstand the burden of this new era any longer. I collapsed to the earth just before the city’s reach. In the final moments of consciousness I possessed, a rounded shadow veered beside me. Two figures emerged from its hull, conversing with inaudible voices to one another, darkness consuming the world just as they approached. “Damn,” I thought to myself, “who or what the hell are these guys –things?”Please don't complain that you don't know what some of the words mean. I didn't, then I looked them up. moreResolved Question: Garage Door Does Not Close! Opens back up before closing! HELP!?

My Genie chain drive garage door opener (model PCG650) will open and stop at the upper limit switch but not shut with either remote or wall push button. The door springs are set correctly and I have experimented with adjusting the Force control. I am afraid I may have to replace the expensive Control Board. Any ideas? I have Genie brand single garage door opener about 5 years old. It recently doesn't want to close. It stops at different points and goes back up. I have to hold the button down otherwise it will go up. I replaced the sensors today with no luck, still doing the same thing. The sensors are aligned properly and the light on each one is steady, even when the door goes back up. I have also adjusted the power down knob with no luck. I'm out of ideas short of replacing the whole unit? Any help would be appreciated :) CourtneyIt still acts up when I hold the button down...but I have a better chance of getting it closed. The sensors are attached to the wall, not the frame itself.. moreVoting Question: 12-year-old cat not eating but acting normal for the most part. Should I be worried?
I have a 12-year-old cat who's healthy but isn't eating normally. I just moved to a new house Wednesday (It's now Monday.) and didn't think much when she wasn't eating too much for the first couple days. Last night, I was able to get her to eat a couple pieces of the same food she's had for years, but I had to offer her a single piece at a time and put it on the floor in front of her. She probably ate five to 10 pieces of food and then decided that's all she wanted. For the most part, she seems to be acting normal. It doesn't seem like she's sleeping more than normal or anything, and she comes to sit in my lap all the time. She isn't playing with the twist ties and rubber bands she usually does. She's still purring whenever I come to pet her, and her ears/nose don't feel hot, so I'm guessing she doesn't have a fever. Last night, she was up and about, exploring my room and playing around on the furniture, which she does all the time. She leaves my room every now and then on her own to explore the rest of the house--in fact, she's doing that right now. We do have two dogs at this new house, but one stays in the garage virtually all day and we keep the other dog away from the cat (We keep him locked up in another bedroom for some of the day, too.); I've moved the cat's food and water dish in my room, and we keep the door mostly shut so that she can sneak out to go to the litter box--which she has used a couple times since the move. When she does feel threatened by the dogs, she doesn't hesitate to hiss or take swipes at them, so I'm guessing that's a sign that she still has a decent amount of energy. My cat has lived with all sorts of dogs her entire life, but I'm still be precautious to give her some time to adjust to these dogs. I'm a broke college student and can't afford a huge vet bill right now, so I'd prefer not to have to take her in if I don't absolutely need to. Obviously if she continues these patterns, I'll have to take her in later this week. I just want to know if there's anything I can do around here now to get her to eat again or if it's something I just need to wait and see on. Thanks everyone. moreResolved Question: how can i adjust door opener remote control?

I moved out of my parents place(abuse). I am currently living with my boyfriend. He and his mom have a cat. My 2yr old german shepherd is with my parents until I find a place but turns out my dad doesn't want to take care of him anymore(he wants to teach me a lesson). Thunder(my dog) he tried to get along with a cat when he was a pup but the cat hissed and swaped at him and since then, when he sees a cat he'll try to run after it. anyways, my boyfriends cat is 4yrs old, we once tried to get them to get along, we held onto them and thunder had the muzzle and he smelled the cat(we got them face to face) Carly(tabby cat) hissed and took out her claws and Thunder, snapped his teeth at her, and she got off my boyfriends lap and ran. She didn't use the litter and sated upstairs. thunder stayed downstairs. We got a crate for thunder. he stayed in the cray and the cat came down only on the stairs and Rey looked at eachother(thunder did not growl or get up, nothing) then she ran. my question: he has a crate and sheets and pillows, we want to put thunder in the garage:( I really don't want to, and no one I know can watch him. We have a yard and we plan to keep the side door of the garage open so he can go in and out as he pleases and yes I'll still walk him and go on with training and such. It's not cold outside so I know he won't be cold but I'm not losing hope. Would it work if thunder is kept in the crate and I only take him out when it's walks, parks, yard etc...? would the cat adjust to it? she has been smelling him on me and stuff. Help? the cat is 4 and thunder is 2. moreResolved Question: Would you read past this?

first of all, im 13 & i really don't know where or how to start since it has been going on for as long as i can remember. i'm not going to write a 500 page novel, which i very easily could do. basically, my parents are....verbally abusive. i know it sounds wierd coming from just a little 13 year old but i'm different from the usual "waa my parent are so mean" type of kid. It's gone too far & i'm literally sick of it i can't live like this. My mother is the one constantly nagging me about anything she can think of. I'm dead serious, not exaggerating whatsoever. Anything she can find she yells at me. She's ALWAYS calling me a lazy useless piece of sh*t and she calls me a spoiled b*tch a lot also. and i honestly* never do ANYthing to deserve it, and i know that. i get really good grades; every report card is a majority, if not all, A's. i'm not a lazy piece of sh*t. in fact, i'm like her fricken slave. I have to respond immediately to her "reasonable requests" [sweeping out the garage & patio, cleaning the bathroom, folding every single piece of huge laundry loads every time, ect], or she'll keep yelling at me. it gives me pains in my chest i'm not even kidding you. the way i'm describing it may make it seem like its NOTHING to stress over, but you have no idea. Its really stressful to be constantly name called and having to adjust to her CONSTANT mood swings. like "not show my ugly face to her" one second, and be her best friend the next. one example that somewhat hurt me "get the hell out of my room you disgust me you fxcking bitch." i should just stop writing about her; i'll never be able to make you fully understand. my dad has these insane fits of rage. He's psychotic. I'm not even going to go into that subject. One time, when he was finished cussing and yelling at me, he slammed my door so hard it made my mirror fall off my wall and shatter all over my carpet and i yelled something back to him and he comes in and pushes me. i will never forget that. hes a f@ggot. oh and idk if this is normal of verbally abusive parents/people, but they have no idea they're doing anything wrong and when i try to confront them about anything it just makes them act even more immature and it'll escalate. basically i cannot live in this kind of environment anymore. i hate them and they're making me hate life in general. the only one i really have is God<3. listening to music helps me escape a little. writing helps me a lot too. &&& i don't expect you to have any advice or answers but thank you if any of you took ur time to read this. PS: is this whole situation making me a stronger person...or making me weak? maybe both...creed, i dont have a little "attitude" problem, you don't know what i go through, and i wouldnt expect you to, so i don't really care about yer lame assumptions.thankyou :) moreResolved Question: Garage door opener only opens about five feet?

Actually, the one opener works but the range is erratic from point zero to 300 ft. I have an 1/3 HP electric garage door opener that is very stubborn in the colder weather. It will start to close and then go back up. (I have never had trouble opening the door, just closing). I have checked the sensors and all appears to be normal there. I do not see any blinking lights. I have adjusted the closing force to "maximum strength" which did not seem to make a difference. I also have set the door where I can at least close it manually. If I press the button, the same problem occurs and it is not even carrying the weigh of the garage door. One more thing...normally you can override the sensors if you hold down the button on the wall. I can't even do this. It still stops and goes back up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: Craftsman Garage Door Opener Problems Going Down?
I am looking for help. Thank you. When the wall unit or the remote button is pushed to lower the door, it goes down about 6-8 inches then goes back up. Sometimes it will go down about 2 feet then back up too. Once it goes back up, the light clicks on and off like 9 times. I assume this is some kind of code. I have looked at the sensors. Cleaned them. Lined them up properly. And both green lights are on-steady not flashing, and they seem to be functioning properly. I have also adjusted the down force screw on the box and nothing has helped. The only thing visually that worries me is that the chain is very loose and hangs down past the T-rail about 3-4 inches. Never noticed this before so this may not be an issue, but thought it was worth mentioning. I have read hundreds of posts on here all the way back to 2005 on this subject but could not find anything that has fixed this issue. I do get it to go down sometimes by holding down the wall unit button or the remote. But that isn't working much anymore. So before I go buy a new unit I wanted to get any thoughts that anybody may have. You guys on here are pretty darn sharp and I look forward to your feedback. Thanking everyone in advance. Take care.Thank you everyone that helped me with this. It is fixed now! Somebody posted the Tech Support direct line and the lady walked me through every single step until it was opertating perfectly! For FREE! Wow! She had me read the yellow blinking light on the box as it was blinking 4 times then pausiing which is a sensor issue. Then she had me detach the receving eye sensor, pointed it at the ceiling for a few seconds, then reinstalled making sure the green lights stayed on both of them. Pulled the rope down on the trolly, then loosened the nuts on the chain screw while making sure the chain did NOT twist, and tightened the nuts down until the chain was about 1/2" above the T-rail. Very important not to get this too tight/not more than 1/2" above the rail. After trying everything from hundreds of posters, this phone number finished the job: 1-800-528-9131. I was this close to buying a whole new opener, so lesson learned: Keep asking for help until everything has been exhausted! moreResolved Question: Am I putting too much "human emotion" into my cats feelings?
Here's the scenario..... I have a black cat who loves to wander around the streets at night whenever he gets a chance. He actually got hurt (but lived) earlier this year, so I decided that he must stay on the enclosed back porch every night starting that day. Well, he did very well adjusting to the night-time confinement up until our recent household change. We just recently got a puppy who needs access to the enclosed porch but also needs outside access at night, therefore we need to keep the porch door open. I thought I could trust my black cat again and let him stay outside until I saw him almost get killed tonight crossing the street. Now, the only option is keeping him in the enclosed garage at night. I sorta feel bad though because my other 2 cats are trustworthy enough to stay outside so now my black cat is lonely in the garage. Am I just putting too much emotion into this? Do cats actually care if they're alone for a few hours or does he REALLY need a fellow cat companion if that's what he's used to? By the way, bringing him inside with us is just not an option. We love him to death but he absolutely destroys everything inside the house when he's let in. So, is it o.k. to keep alone inside the garage at night or will this make him angry/rebel against us? © Michael Lauinger Bryden shot his lover in the head. He lowered the weapon, glanced once around the crowded room, and started to move, sighing inwardly. This wasn’t his style. He had to admit, on an ordinary day he would have chosen a less permanent option; he had been fond of Azriel, after all. On the other hand, this wasn’t an ordinary day. Now wasn’t the time for reverie, however. It was a time for action, and he slid into motion with a practiced calm that belied any trace of emotion. His tuxedo, splattered with blood, was ruined, but there was no helping that now. The ornate dining hall, opulent in its luxury, blurred in his vision. He hardly registered the shock, fear, and dismay openly displayed on the faces of its guests, most of whom he knew, at least in passing. He slipped past the waiter, handing him a tip without breaking stride, and muttered a brief, “Pardon” as he slid by, not really noticing how the man stumbled and almost fell, gape-mouthed and wide-eyed. There was one single, belated scream, a woman, and other than that the hall was still. Through the foyer, past the maitre’ de, out the big ornate double doors, and down the steps, where the valet handed him his keys. Of course the boy recognized him, and if he stared a bit much at the gore hanging from Bry’s hair, and face, and torso, one couldn’t really blame him. He was a good lad nonetheless, and Bryden tipped him handsomely before stepping down to the Lamborghini. It was parked out front, in the middle, as if waiting for him. It was nice that he didn’t have to wait. So far, all was well. Nobody had tried to stop him, and he hadn’t had to shoot anyone else. Thank Heaven for small favors. In minutes, he was on the freeway and miles from the scene. He took the exit to Oldtown and tried to lose himself in the maze of inner city streets. First to do: lose the car. Second, he’d need a change of clothes and a rudimentary makeover. Third, he’d have to contact Intel and let them know what he’d done. Heading to Baker Street, he let his hands work the controls as he looked out the windows and contemplated his options. The smell woke him from his musings. Baker Street; the name should bring up images of pies on window sills and men in chef’s hats serving up delicacies of both domestic and foreign nature, and indeed, the area had once been all that, and more. But that had been a long time ago. Nowadays, the pungent aromas pervading the block had less to do with cooking and far more to do with the scents of decay and despair. Trash was everywhere. That, and rodents. There was the pervasive and overpowering scent of urine mixed with sweat and tawdry sex. Condoms lay about like candy wrappers after a parade. To his right, next to a burned out brick building apparently erected in the mid-1800’s, a couple of teenage boys were passing a bong, glazed eyes barely registering the sleek ‘Gini as it rolled slowly past. A dark-skinned hooker in a garish nylon red wig, and not much else, called to him, hopeful that he might be a city boy slumming for a trick. He waved a no-thank you, not unkindly, and picked up the pace a bit. True that this was definitely the place to be if you didn’t want people looking your way, but even here, and maybe especially here, a Lamborghini was not going to be easily forgotten. Bryden knew that it was becoming more and more imperative; he had to get off the street. Fortunately, he had almost arrived at his destination… Four buildings down on the right, he made his turn. Cutting into the old parking garage, he was momentarily blind, so dark was it inside. He waited a moment for his eyes to adjust before moving on, and then, with practiced ease maneuvered the powerful vehicle through sharp turns until he had climbed five stories. Coming to a jarringly modern gate, all chrome and black and massively sturdy, he leaned out the window and punched in a code on the waiting pin-pad. He’d often wondered why they bothered – the brick wall the gate adhered too had been rotting through in the mortar for years. Piles of dust lay against the wall from where it was falling out, and the mortar was so fragile you could poke your fingers through it with no resistance. He knew – he’d done it himself. All in all, it’d be a damn sight easier to pull the bricks out of the wall than to tear down the gate, but he figured it all came down to appearances. The gate was a deterrent, period, and the cameras blinking ominously from every corner and angle were enough to give even the most hardened felon pause. Thanks Ross. I very much appreciate the response and honesty thereof. The reason I didn't do anything with the noise of the shot was because Bry was kind of being internal. and it was supposed to show that he was so engrossed in thought that the noise of the shot would be subliminal to that. Kinda like, well, when I was in the Marines or firefighting, you kinda quit registering the sounds around you and stuck to the job at hand. Still, I'll think on that, if I ever do anything with it. As it is it's just a rough draft, but I was just trying to get a feel as to whether or not my writing would even appeal to anyone. I'm recently disabled, have a lot of time on my hands, and had always thought of writing. I know a bit about it from research, but this was my first day's effort at actually putting fingers to keys. I am glad you liked it, but I'm thinking from the overwhelming (non)response that maybe I should look at Wal-Mart greeter as a more likely career pursuit. Thanks OC. I hope that's not just flattery, and is an honest critique, because I really feel you have the aptitude and savvy to give me a bona fide, competent and informed appraisal of my little piece, based on what I saw of your own work. In fact, I think you may have just decided me to go ahead and make a go of it; So, if I ever do make it to the New York Times best-selling list (or more likely the clearance aisle of your local discount drugstore) permission granted to say it was YOU who motivated me to get there! I purchased a house a year ago and i have been fighting with one of the garage door openers ever since. I do not have the model number of the opener but it is around 10 years old (Per my neighbours). When you close the opener the chain will tighten for the down direction and loosen for the up, and then it will start to have Gear squeal (Really loud). If I adjust the travel down limit and open and close the door about 3 times, it will have plenty of slack and the squeal will go away. If I disengage the opener the chain is about a 1/2 inch above the rail and the door moves freely, also the door has been recently balanced. I have tried Cleaning and lubricating the rail itself and I have cleaned the plastic gfears in the housing. I have also lubed the chain and verified that the chain sproket does not look bent or loose. Any other suggestiosn would be greatly apprciated as this is really starting to irritate me. FliehighThe noise is abnormal, very loud squeal. The other opener I have does not do this and it is the same vintage and model.Hi Maint Man I checked the sproket and it doesn't seem loose. As well the worm gear looks fine, the large gear looks like it may be worn a little but there is still large ridges. She goes out on the back grass 100% of the time. But......I am now moving to a condo with a 2 car garage and small concrete patio......no grass. Do I rig the sliding door so she can go out on the patio? Do I put some grass out there? Or do I have her go in the garage on pads or something? (There is already a doggie door to the garage). Any advise? I want to do what is easiest for her to adjust to. I'm gone during the day. Ok so im 13 and i love to write short little stories about whats on my mind....well with this piece imgoing to eventually take it so the "riches" end up in the small town of Escanaba Michigan. This is what i have SO FAR please tell me what u think....brutily honest please! “And I will swim the ocean for you the ocean for you whoa, oh Kelsey and I'll swim the ocean for you whoa Kelsey...” My favorite song, Kelsey, by my favorite band, Metro Station, blasted throughout my room. I sat up, flung my legs over the side of the bed, and sat up. I rubbed my eyes. “Good morning, Stella!” Stella is my teacup Yorkie puppy. My older sister picked out the name. She said that Stella sparkled like dazzling glossed ice. I flipped open my The Diamond Crypto Smartphone to read my new text. Lizzy- Hey Kels, do you know what your wearing to THE first day of school?! OMG I can't believe that summer is already over! I texted back; OMG I know I cant believe its the first day either!!! and I think im going to wear my new Oscar de la Renta 100% silk strapless dress.....how bout u? What r u gunna wear? I slipped on my fuzzy slippers and walked to my closet. I opened my the french doors, stepped inside, and flipped on the light to start my quest to find the perfect first-day-of-school accessories to match my first-day outfit. I had finally decided on my gold python-skin clutch bad (also Oscar de la Renta ) and my new champagne-pink Stila's lip gloss. I struted down the long spiral staircase to go down to breakfast. “Hey Kels, THATS what your wearing on your fist day of high school?” My 17 year old sister commented as I sat down and snatched the cereal out of her hand. “If my group is going to be running the school, we gotta be ready for it.” I said in between bites. “THATS what your going to wear on your fist day of senior year?” I pushed my half-full bowl as far away from me as I possibly could, I don't need all those calories right before school anyways. “Bye mom. Bye, Tiff.” I took one last look at myself in the mirror, flipped my caramel colored hair over my shoulder, and put one last coat of lip gloss on before I headed out the door. As I stepped out the door, there was my pink Mini Cooper just waiting to be driven. I haven't taken it out of the garage since last year, I guess I need a new car. Chloe-Hey! See ya in a bit! I have some ENORMOUSE news to tell y'all! You- Great we are just pulling up at Tawny's manch. Be there in a sec! All of my friends and I always called each-other mansions manch's. Its a type of inside joke. I adjusted my mirrors, buckled my seat belt, started the car, and off I was to go to pick up Tawny. The first stop on my list. “OMG! TAYTAY! U LOOK HAWT!” “Me?! KEL! YOU LOOK LIKE A PRINCESS! WE GONNA RUN 'DIS SCHOOL BY THE END OF THE DAY!” She opened the convertible door and walked around to the trunk. She plopped her back-pack in front of the speakers. “Do you have your iPod?” She handed me the little device and I plugged it in to turn up some jams. moreResolved Question: Garage door problems. I have a Sears Craftsman garage door opener and sometimes as you push the button to close the door will start to close then right away go back up. No it's not anything in the electronic eye indicating that something is in the way. It just does this once in awhile. Sometimes after a dozen attempts to try to close it, it will then finally go down. It's like it has a mind of it's own. I should not have to adjust any sensor as it does work most of the time. But it is very annoying when it does happen. moreResolved Question: Garage Door Support Plate Slamming Into The Unit?
We recently bought a house that was 10 years old. It has a Chamberlain model 7220 garage door opener (chain type). The opener worked fine for a few weeks. Lately when the garage door is opened, it travels up until the metal plate that supports the door actually slams into the unit (then it stops of course). There were two adjustments on the side of the unit to control door travel (one listed as "up" the other "down"). I tried adjusting the "up" adjustment to the minus side, but it does not seem to work. Any suggestions? Thanks!!I don't see a switch near the morot box on this Chamberlain unit. I just gave birth 12 days ago, and I've been feeling really overwhelmed lately. I've got a mild case of the baby blues. I let my mother in law and my husband know about it. We live with my husbands parents. Last night my mother in law wanted to keep the baby upstairs and let me get a break. After 15 minutes of crying from the detachment I was feeling, I said okay and let her spend the night with my daughter upstairs while I got some rest downstairs. My husband wasn't tired when I was tired, so he said he was going to the liquor store, but he'd be right back. He said he was going to buy me a few shots, so I was expecting him back soon. I had time to read this little nursing book the hospital gave me, and my hubby still wasn't back yet. It usually takes him about 20 minutes at the most to get some booze and come home. He was gone for 45 minutes, so I figured he was hanging out across the street at his best friends house. I texted his friend and asked if my husband was over there. His friend said no. I immediately started thinking the worse. My husband has depression, and he's been really stressed out with the new baby and with me being stressed out, it surely wasn't helping. I was scared he did something stupid, like try to kill himself. I've only been with him for 1 year and 8 months, he hasn't even tried to hurt himself (except once when I pissed him off and he was drunk. He cut himself with a kitchen knife and had to get stitches... but that was a one time thing) I was still worried about where he went, so I went upstairs and woke his mother up and told her I was worried about where he was. I started crying. My stupid emotions are still adjusting. She tried comforting me, and she reminded me of what kind of person I had married. lol She said he probably went to the liquor store (his friends parents own it) and he probably gave his friend a ride then stayed at his friends house to smoke a little pot and drink some liquor. I didn't think he'd do that to me knowing what I'm going through right now, he usually would have called. So I sent his friend a text message asking if he was with him, and I never got a reply. I started worrying more. *I know worrying does nothing but make things worse, but worrying was all I could do. As soon as I heard the garage door open, I jumped up off the couch and ran to the door. His mother thought I was going to start a fight with him, but it was the complete opposite. I missed him so much in just an hour and a half. He apologized to me, and said he'd never go anywhere again without telling me. I let him know that he stressed me out even more and I didn't like it. I feel like I overreacted, but at the same time, he did pull an A hole move. He's a married man now, I have a right to worry, don't I? I dunno, what do you think about this situation? *His mother was right, he DID go to his friends house after he went to the liquor store, and he did smoke a little pot and drink a few drinks. His friends phone got disconnected, that's why he didn't reply to my text message. I don't think I need to put my man in line, he just needed to realize how he made me feel. He felt really bad for doing it and apologized to me. I really think he meant it too. He's medically prescribed to marijuana. I can't stop him from smoking it. I've tried. He's gotten a lot better about it, and I'm fine with him smoking it, as long as it's not in the house! I don't smoke anything, and I don't drink. I just needed to unwind and relax. I pumped some breast milk up for my mother in law. I didn't even end up drinking last night. I was too tired by the time he got home that we both went to lay down together. It's not a big deal. My baby is 100% fine! I wouldn't have even gotten pregnant if I had the slightest doubt in my parenting skills. Everything is fine now, I just have the baby blues. It's not postpartum depression. I have absolutely NO intention of hurting myself or anyone else! I just cry. And he just smokes pot. It's not a big deal. Marijuana is NOT as bad as people make it sound. The state can't do crap about my situation. There are people out there who have it a lot worse than I do!!! Get off my nuts about leaving him. I won't! moreResolved Question: 1/2 hp craftsman garage door opener trouble shoot.?
1/2 hp craftsman garage door opener does not stop when going up and hits the LIMIT assembly switch contact. It keeps on going for a few more inches (approx 7" - 8") making it very hard to adjust. I've adjusted the weight limit switches also to no avail!?!? Any thoughts? Thanks all - want to add also that I can see that when the door is coming up and hits the LIMIT assembly switch contact - the motor STOPS but the door itself keeps on moving up (like it had no brakes)??? moreResolved Question: Garage door opener arm problem.?
I was opening the garage door and getting into my car yesterday and the garage door arm swung down out of the door, disconnecting the cart and the door. The nut was still on the screw that connects the arm to the cart so obviously it was never screwed in to begin with [weird]. So I put the arm back in the first hole on the door and let it close, only now the arm is off-kilter and runs into the door itself right before it completely closes which makes the door open again...any advice as to how to adjust the arm so it DOESN'T run off kilter and into the door before the door completely closes? Thanks--also, it's not my house so I'm not keen on doing too many things to the garage door to fix it!Well, there are about six holes on the door-is this a case of just finding the right hole to attach the arm to the door to so that it closes properly and is aligned [therefore won't run off the track and into the door]? The first hole is obviously providing too much room for the arm to move forward...so would the easiest fix be to just keep adjusting which hole on the door that I screw the arm into? No, I totally understand, it's hard to describe. When I get back from work, I'll fiddle with it and take a picture if it doesn't work itself out. I think I'm going to try to disconnect the door from the arm/cart and shut the door manually. That way I can reconnect the arm to the door in a way that ensures it will fully close. I hope. Haha. moreResolved Question: Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Opener Model 139.18453DM (Unit run front & back only for 2 seconds)?
I want to test Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener Model 139.18453DM without proper installation (Without Hanging opener, just Tring test on Floor). The problem I'm having is that when I run the opener, the sprocket will make a clockwise cycle for 2 seconds (or 4" distance) but will immediately do a counter-clockwise cycle in the same distance. I've done it without the chain and with the chain (Without Hanging opener) and it's the exact same thing either way. The unit moves a few inches cloclwise and then back to where it started from. Nothing is obstructing the sensors because the lights glow steadily and when I deliberately stepped into the sensor, the lights do blink. Following things I've already done: 1. Installed Standard Control Console (Door control button) 2. Both sensor connected with unit and operational (Indicator lights glow steadilt) 3. I tried adjusting the force and amount of travel but nothing happens. Help!!!!!!!!! moreResolved Question: How to get the cat to use the litter box?
My roommate and I have one female cat named Tabbi. She uses her litter box, is very skittish and even runs away to hide when people she knows approach her. On her own terms, she can be very affectionate. The problem is, my roommate recently "inherited" two cats after his mother passed away. The other two cats, Otis and Marie, have adjusted very well after only a couple of days but the original cat, Tabbi, is not fairing so well. At night, I can hear them fighting in front of my door. I think it sounds much worse than it is because they seem to just chase each other. The litter box is in the garage (there is a kitty door) but Tabbi refuses to use it. The other cats like to hang out in the garage. She pretty much stays upstairs on the landing and comes down but will not step foot in the garage. So...that means that she is pooping and peeing on the landing. I have suggested putting a litter box upstairs but my roommate doesn't want to. I am looking into surrendering her to the SPCA but this is her home and want to give it a fair shot. Do you have any ideas? To be honest, I don't need a spiel about how we are being unfair, the behavior of cats or anything like that. Please help.Tim, I understand that putting a litter box on the landing is a no "brainer". Although, as I previously mentioned, my roommate it unwilling to put one there. moreResolved Question: Our Cat Is Acting Weird? What's wrong?
We moved in to my step-dad's house about two months ago. He has a cat. In the beginning he acted spooked, but then he adjusted. Recently(this last week), he's been acting really strange. He comes in from the garage through the cat door, then leaves, then enters, then exits. Last night we had a thunder and lightening storm. He was spooked, so he ran inside the house from the garage. He was acting strange, and when we tried to pet him, he hissed and batted at at our hands, so we put him in the garage for the night. When we went in the garage this morning to check on him, we could hear him meowing, but couldn't see him. We heard the noise coming from up above. He had jumped up to the rafters and got stuck. We tried to get him down, but it was no use, he would move when we tried to help him. He couldn't get down. Then, he fell. OUCH! Well, then the rest of today, he was just quite and stayed in the window seal. Then when my mom started folding the laundry, she shook a pair of pants. That scared the cat. He ran to the bathroom. I had use the restroom, so we shooed him out. He was again hissing, so my mother wanted him out of the house. He hopped onto the couch. My mom lightly tapped his behind. He ran from the couch to the kitchen. Instead of using the cat door to go out to the garage, he jumped up onto the kitchen counters and laid on our cutting board. My mom was furious, so she was yelling at the cat to leave the kitchen. He was hissing at her. I walked over and then my mom made a loud noise. The cat left the kitchen, but also left a small "treat". He pooped on our counter and the cutting board. So, what is wrong with our cat? Being independent and not friendly is one thing, but hissing and batting at anyone who pets him is just rediculus. Anyone know what is wrong? moreResolved Question: Can't get out front door - porch swollen?
I spent most of last winter going out my back door and walking in snow around to my garage because my front door wouldn't open because the door is BELOW the porch. I figured that by now, June, things would be better and the porch not so swollen (wood porch), but it's not. What can I do to (1) raise the door or (2) lower the porch - that one will not be easy! I'm thinking maybe take the door off and raise it a little and attach it back on. Maybe there's something easier. It DOES have about a 2 inch piece on the bottom that can be adjusted, higher or lower, and it's already as HIGH up as it will go. Maybe just take THAT piece off??? Just now thought of that one. Any ideas? I've asked a lot of people and they just don't know either. Thanks for any consideration to my dilemma. Barbara moreResolved Question: How do you replace garage door springs?

Ok so my family and I are thinking about moving to this beautiful ranch in the mountains. I have three little dogs and my uncle refuses to let them inside the house. So my question is how do u think they'll adjust to the change? They love being outside by the way and never seem to have a problem with it and we kennel them in the hallway at night so this isn't a HUGE change for them.
