Open Question: Gastroschisis after birth...?

13 months ago I gave birth to the little girl with gastroschisis. She recovered a lot faster than the other stories I have heard with children who are born with the same condition. She came home on medications. One for Vitamin B and one for acid reflux...she doesn't take either medicine any longer. My problem now is that she is constantly whining for me. If I put her on the floor to play with her toys, as soon as I turn around she screams. Now I am by no means a smothering mother. I have a two year old who is almost completely independent already and never cries. With my second I had to be extra gentle with her as a baby because of her surgery, but other than that I have raised both my children the same way. So I am wondering if there may be something wrong with her. Yes, of course I plan on taking her to the doctor and asking them, but I just moved out of state and I need to find a doctor close by first, so I figured I would ask. Is it possible that her acid reflux is acting up, and she's whining because its uncomfortable? What exactly does a vitamin B deficiency entail, and could this be bothering her? If so are there over the counter meds that I can give her to help? I'm really looking for someone else who has been around a child with gastroschisis to get me some insight, but any thoughts would be nice. more

Resolved Question: Many tiny bumps on outer edges of lips?

This past winter, I started getting a lot of very tiny bumps on my lips. They are on the outer edges, and they feel funny, kind of tingly. At first I thought it might have been from getting chapped in the wind. Then I thought it might be an irritation from the Chapstick I was using, since it had sunscreen in it. I went to a clinic and she said it might be cold sores, though she'd never seen any present in this way, or that it might be an allergy to my Chapstick. She gave me some antibiotics and betamethasone valerate ointment and recommended conscientiously taking my vitamins, since I'd been somewhat lax about taking them. I'd also been having trouble with the corners of my mouth cracking, which is apparently a sign of vitamin B deficiency. She said it might also simply have been due to stress, since this was just after finals. I started only using vaseline, taking extra vit B and my regular vitamins, etc. but I still get these strange bumps every once in a while (usually once or twice every few weeks, sometimes with 1-4 weeks of no bumps). The ointment the doctor gave me gets rid of them after a day or so, but I'm still trying to figure out what is causing them. I was wondering whether it might be oral allergy syndrome, since I do have allergies to some sort of tree pollen in the spring (I've never been tested, but that has always been the high allergen when I get allergies). I was also eating a lot of apples around the time that they started reappearing over the summer, and about.com listed that as something related to the birch pollen, or something like that. I stopped eating apples, though, and I'm still getting the bumps. I am, however, still eating a lot of other fresh fruit and vegetables, so I figure that may still be an option. Despite only using vaseline, I still got the bumps. Recently, I started using carmex, and I am still having the bumps appear. I have been using the tube kind of both products. This is definitely not an STD, by the way. Does anyone have any suggestion? I'm not sure which thing I should try to isolate first. Is it possible to be allergic to vaseline or carmex? Is there a purer product than either of those that I could try? Are there any other allergies or vitamin deficiencies that can cause this? Does anyone else have this problem? more

Voting Question: Possible yeast infection - cuts at corner of mouth & itchy vagina?

**before I start, I'll say that I am pretty sure this is not an STD as I have been tested and haven't had any other sexual contact since the test** Well this is quite embarrassing...2 days ago I noticed that I had a really itchy vagina completely out of the blue. I had to scratch it a lot to relieve the itching but now it feels very sore. I've had a few similar things in the past and developed "papercut" like cuts and lines on my vagina which were very red and sore and looked like tears in the skin, along with general itchiness. After taking one pill for thrush it vanished a day later. At the same time as the itching started I also noticed slight "cuts" in the corner of my mouth. On one side this has pretty much vanished but on the other I have a combination of a cut/sore which is very sore and hurts when I open my mouth wide. I was wondering if the two could be linked and could be a possible yeast infection? After Googling about the sore it sounded like I had a deficiency in vitamin B but I also read about mild yeast infections causing cuts in the corner of the mouth and wondered if I should treat it as a yeast infection. Obviously if it carries on for more than a couple of days I'll see a doctor but it's an inconvinient time as I'm very busy this week and have exam results and a festival next week so would like to try and sort it out myself if possible, without waiting around for a doctor! If anyone has had anything similar or knows about this kind of thing I'd appreciate your opinion, thanks! more

Resolved Question: Pregnant with number two and very scared right now.?

Ok, so i know it's kinda stupid, and most pregnant people freak out about this, but I am really afraid of having a miscarriage. This is why... I had my first 3 years ago, and about 1 1/2 years ago, i became really sick (like bedridden). With nausea, and dizziness, etc. I went to a neurologist and they did a ton of blood work, and all they found was high white blood count, vitamin d deficiency, carnatine deficiency, and a positive Epstein Barr virus probably from 6 months before. He told me it was most likely low immune system, and deficiencies, so i was on ativan (anxiety), compazine (anti-enimec) and Nuertontin (from having a spinal tap from the MANY hospital visits). Now, i have gotten alot healthier, and am now back to my normal weight, still have occasional nausea and dizziness, but nothing crazy. I found out im aprox. 5 weeks pregnant, and the thing that scares me is that every few months, one of my organs becomes inflamed, (last month it was pelvic region, a few months before it was my lungs, and early in year it was eye), and im worried my body will reject the baby. I am also worried, because im very excited as i have been TTC for about a year, and im worried my lowered immune system will cause a miscarriage. I have been receiving chiropractic care, (dont worry its very good for you when pregnant), and my immune system has gotten better and im pretty sure my chiropractic care made me ovulate making me pregnant. lol. i also had a c-section with my first. i am having cramps a lot, and my symptoms don't seem as bad the past two days, and it kind of frightens me. any advice? my first doctors appt isn't until the 25th, and they are jackasses over there b.c. its the clinic and they wont even answer an emergency call or return a call if its on they're "3 hour lunch break" thanks. Btw- i am medication free, and very healthy as far as i know, more

Resolved Question: What is the best prenatal vitamins for hair growth?

I have always had a problem with growing my hair unless I was pregnant and taking prenatal vitamins but when I took the same prenatal vitamins after I had the baby, my hair didn't grow as fast as it would when I was pregnant. I found that I had a low amount of biotin in them but I also had diabetes with all pregnancies. I definitely have a low biotin deficiency but I I also have a low iron deficiency as well. I was advised to take prenatal vitamins, hair growth vitamins, and b-complex vitamins. I am searching for the vitamins that contains the high levels of biotin in them but I haven't had any success. Can someone please me? more

Resolved Question: What's wrong with me?? I'm stumped!?

Well, my general health has been a bit weird for last couple of months, and to be honest I'm getting a bit annoyed! Here's some background information: I follow a very healthy (vegetarian) diet, don't eat gluten often or dairy, exercise every other day, and am not stressed in the slightest, and don't drink very much. So here're my problems: +the corners of my mouth have been very dry and red, unless I use this cream (can't remember the name. I thought this was a vitamin B deficiency so have been eating foods rich in it. And I've also thought it might be a reaction to gluten, but the only times I've had gluten is when I've been away from home, so don't know if it's that, or because I haven't been able to get that cream which clears it up +I've had pinworms very recently, though I'm clear now; I've been in the south of France, Sydney, Melbourne and Taipei (for a 4hr flight stopover) so think I might've got them on my travels. +Tonight I became really itchy on the base of my back, and I had raised white-red splotches there, which spread to my inner left thigh, top left arm and neck. I'd eaten about 5hr previously, had drunk only water and peppermint tea, and was sitting on the sofa reading a book when it happened. I had an antihistamine tablet (the first time I've ever needed one) and the splotches receded very quickly. +My glands have been raised for about a week now, without any obvious symptoms of being ill apart from a sniffle on and off for about 3weeks, and feelings of general tiredness when I shouldn't be (I'm a student on holidays right now so I've no work to do) So, can anyone help me? I'm not sure whether these problems are connected or not- I'm certainly a bit sick of this! Thanks guys!Right... those splotches have appeared again today, around the same time of day (4-5pm). I've taken another antihistamine, hopefully that'll sort it. Unlikely that I've been bitten by something, then more

Resolved Question: Is it possible for your arm to "fall asleep" for 4 hours? If not, what could it be then?

Someone I know said it happened to him. I think it's probably related to a nutritional deficiency perhaps low potassium or sodium levels, or perhaps B vitamins or essential amino acids, perhaps dehydration. Or perhaps a stoke (left arm)? more

Resolved Question: Vitamin B deficiency? Cracked sore in corner of mouth. Help!?

I have vitamin b deficiency right now. It is affecting the corner of my mouth right now. It is a red, cracked cut on my lip. I have had it for a couple weeks. It really hurts to eat because I can barely open my mouth. I have put aquaphor and lip stuff on it, but it doesn't help. I have also been eating vitamin b stuff. It isn't going away. I have a band aid on it because of the pain, but it isn't really staying on too well. It really hurts. It isn't a cold sore, because I haven't kissed anyone in eight months. What should I do? more

Voting Question: Fissured Tongue Treatment?

Hi I have a fissured tongue condition ever since I can remember, now I'm 26 and I've noticed that my tongue is after getting way more fissures and even the main one in the middle is now longer, wider and deeper. I must say that especially this year I have increased my oral hygiene in a big way, I brush my teeth twice sometimes thrice daily and I also use interdental brushes and a good mouth wash. Sometimes I can taste this very mild but yet very present perhaps tingling on my tongue and the plate area even if I haven't eaten yet so I can't blame the food. I have searched about this matter all over google and I am very disappointed, especially as far as treatment is concerned there's absolutely nothing on the net. They say that it is considered benign condition and that it doesn't have to be treated, yeah right maybe by someone who doesn't have it, it doesn't hurt I agree but I am not quite comfortable watching my tongue to all apart in front of my eyes, that's how I feel it's terrible. There was one article about Vitamin B deficiency also. I take fish oil+B complex+and vitamin C nearly every day, NO BLOODY GOOD. Is there anything I can do? by the way I don't have down syndrome or Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome. I appreciate all answers especially from people who suffer with the same. P.S. We are talking about Fissured tongue not Geographical tongue see the difference before you answer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fissured_tongue http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geographic_tongue thanks everyoneTO: Lyubov Yevseenko I really really do apreciate your effort and time but this exactly the answer that I don't need (extracted from google), I have seen this already on google, that it is a benign condition and doesn't need cure and..................... but thanks anyway. keep 'em coming more

Resolved Question: Vegetarian diet caused... did it?

My friend started her vegetarianism in 7th grade. Her boobs started to shrink and they went from a C to a B within two months. Why did this happen? Has anyone else experienced this? Is it because of her change of diet? Perhaps a vitamin deficiency? Thank you!First off, I am gay.. second off she told me. I haven't payed much attention to her breast.I would also like to add: I have nothing against the vegetarian diet.. in fact, I LOVE IT! I am a vegetarian! But I just would like a good answer to why her breast decreased in size. thanks everybody."Diggs Shobes," I have known that I was gay since kindergarten.. right now I KNOW for a fact that I do not like girls and that I DO like guys. If someday I just so happen to like girls then of course, I would date them. But there is not a very good chance of that happening.. Just like how people are certain that they are straight when they go through puberty.. I KNOW that I am gay.. Thank you. more

Resolved Question: Who is the author of this and what year was it published?

How to Give vitamins to Chickens? Calcium. Calcium is needed by laying hens to form strong, sturdy eggshells. Hens without proper amounts of calcium lay thin-shelled eggs, or eggs with no shell at all! The amount of calcium a hen needs varies with her age, diet, health, breed, and size. Older hens need more calcium than their younger counterparts, and hens in hot weather need extra calcium concentrations in their feed since they are eating less due to the heat and might not be getting all the calcium they need. Since eggshells consist mostly of calcium carbonate, oyster shells and ground up limestone are good sources of supplementary calcium. Make sure you are not purchasing dolomite limestone, since this is harmful to egg production! Salt. Be extremely careful when giving chickens this occasionally fatal supplement! Most feeds have sufficient amounts of salt, so supplements of this should not be needed. Although minute amounts of salt are vital for a chicken's health, too much salt given to a flock when there is not enough water available can be poisonous. In warm weather, be sure that water dishes remain full, and in winter make sure that water does not freeze (or remove salt supplements from feed). Phosphorous. This supplement is needed so that the chickens can metabolize calcium (and calcium is likewise needed for the proper digestion of phosphorous). Range fed chickens do get phosphorus from beetles, but they probably don't get enough. Grit. Since chickens don't have any teeth, this important supplement is needed for proper digestion. Grit is usually sold as small pebbles or large grains of sand. These hard objects are eaten by the chickens and lodged in their gizzard. When grains, grass, and other fibrous/hard vegetation are eaten, it passes through the rocks in the gizzard where it is ground up between the stone (much like teeth). Grit should always be available, even if you're not feeding the flock heavily with grains and vegetables. Free-ranged chickens shouldn't need this supplement. Vitamin D. This vitamin is related to the assimilation of calcium and phosphorus and is needed for proper egg production. Deficiencies cause weak, thin eggshells. Vitamin D is found in cod liver oil and plenty of sunlight. Although this is a crucial vitamin, you shouldn't need to feed extra amounts unless your chickens aren't getting enough via sunlight or their feed. Vitamin A. Vitamin A is essential for good hatch-ability and chick viability (attention chicken breeders!). It comes from fresh grass and other vegetation, yellow corn, and cod liver oil. Most feeds include proper amounts of this. Riboflavin. This is one of the B vitamins and is often deficient in normal poultry feeds. If you are a breeder, deficiency of this vitamin causes embryo death during the early stages of incubation. This important vitamin is found in dairy products, yeast, liver, and plenty of leafy green vegetables. Vitamin E. Needed for proper health and protection from diseases, vitamin E is found in fresh greens, wheat germ oil, and whole grains (such as oats, corn, wheat, barley, etc.) As you can see, the majority of the vitamins needed by chickens are found in sunlight and fresh greens. This is why free ranged chickens (or chickens in confined-free-range-systems) are so healthy. Plenty of clean air, fresh food, sunlight, and green veggies along with a few choice supplements should keep your chickens living as long as Methuselah! Resolved Question: How much Vitamin D should I take daily...?

I've been having health problems. My doctor took some blood tests and the only thing I'm low on is calcium. I'm thinking calcium and Vitamin D go together, and the problems I've been having would make sense if I did have a deficiency of Vitamin D. My doctor was thinking the same thing so he took more blood to check my Vitamin D; that was 2 weeks ago and I haven't had the money to go back and see him :/ I'm going to be safe and take more Vitamin D anyhow, but I just don't know how many IU's I should take? I can't drink milk because it causes acne for me. I will be going to the doctor the week after next. His nurse won't tell me the results over the phone or let me talk to him... what a b*tch :) more

No other Iams pet food is involved. ------------------------------- Thiamine Deficiency ------------------------------- Some of the signs: generalized weakness salivation ataxia tremors and seizures Treatment would be with an injectable or oral B Vitamin supplement. Concerned pet owners who have purchased canned cat food with these codes should discard it. For further information call P&G toll-free at 877-340-8826. As most of you already know, Natura Pet Foods - maker of Innova, Evo and California Natural - has been sold to Procter and Gamble. As a result of this, we will no longer be carrying these foods. It has been our experience in these situations that the not only will the formulas for these foods be changed, but they will source their ingredients to the cheapest source that they can find, which many times means Asia, etc. By law, they do not have to change the packaging, even if they change all of the ingredients, for a period of 6 months. Now I used Innova and CA Naturals, as well as Wellness canned foods to give variety. I guess it's nothing but Wellness from here on out until I move to raw more

Resolved Question: Which of the following statements about calcium and/or D deficiencies are true?

Not only are many elderly people below the recommended intake for calcium (elderly people need 1200 mg/daily), but they also have inadequate vitamin D intake. Which of the following statements about calcium and/or D deficiencies are true? A) Many elderly people don't drink milk; and D-fortified milk is one of the best food sources for D (and an excellent source of calcium). B) Many elderly are house-bound, or confined to nursing homes, and don't get out of the house often enough to get adequate exposure to sunlight to make vitamin D. C) Many elderly have diminished appetites, and don't eat enough to meet their intake needs (even if they do consume fortified milk or other fortified foods). D) Aging skin is thinner, and is less able to synthesize vitamin D than younger skin, so even if they are getting sun exposure, elderly people may still not make enough vitamin D to meet needs. [And also, too much sun exposure is a risk factor for skin cancer, whether we're young or old.] E) All of the above are correct. more

Resolved Question: Confused by B-12 info?

I haven't been feeling good tired, thinking was very fuzzy generally cruddy. I figured out I wasn't getting enough important nutrients so I am setting out to correct this. With some dietary changes and more supplements I can tell the difference already in the way I am feeling. I really didn't read up enough before trying to start changing to a vegetarian diet. I am reading away now! I keep reading articles that state vegetarian/vegan sources of B-12 are not readily absorbed by the body and how important B-12 is. They say eat fortified products to get your B-12 I see lots of implication that this fortified B-12 comes from animal sources. I am confused about how you can get enough B-12 on a completely vegetarian diet. I am pescatarian (with the goal of eventually becoming vegetarian) but I eat majority vegetarian foods. I am interested in eventually doing what I can to pursue more vegan style eating. Do some people just cut all meat out except for animal sourced B-12? I've seen Red Star Nutritional Yeast mentioned where's the B-12 coming from in it? How do you keep your body from becoming overwhelmed by the yeast? Especially if you're a woman too much yeast isn't good thing. Here is part of an article I read tonight: HOW IS VITAMIN B12 MADE? B12 is made by fungi, algae and especially bacteria in soil and water, and to a slight degree bacteria in the stomach. Animals get their B12 from this food and water which is contaminated with these microorganisms. These animals then become a source of vitamin B12 when humans consume their flesh and by-products. Some plant foods have been reported to contain vitamin B12, but are not known to be reliable sources of this vitamin. Tiny amounts of vitamin B12 have been found in some plants treated with manure but the amounts are too small to be a sufficient source of the vitamin. WHERE DO WE FIND IT AND WHAT ABOUT VEGAN VITAMIN B12? The only reliable unfortified sources of vitamin B12 are meat, dairy products and eggs - a health hazzard - therefore, vegans need to get their vegan vitamin B12 from fortified food products such as soya milk, nutritional yeast (which makes lovely tasting cheesy sauces - Red Star Vegetarian Support Formula nutritional yeast is a staple in most vegan kitchens. This product tastes great and around 1 tablespoon supplies the RDA you need for vitamin B12), vegan margarines and cereals. Vegans need to look for fortified foods or supplements to get vegan vitamin B12 in their diet. Although the required amount is very small, as you can see from above, a deficiency of it can cause serious problems. Vitamin B12 is also very important in pregnancy and for children. What Does Vitamin B12 Do With Folic Acid? The body needs B12 and folic acid to optimize red cell regrowth and if there is a lack of one or more of these nutrients, anaemia will develop. B12 and folic acid work together for maximum effect in supplying new red blood cells and can improve or remove B12 deficiency. Adults need around 400 micrograms of folic acid per day and according to the NIH (National Institues of Health), healthy people should have no more than 1,000 micrograms per day as large amounts can trigger the damaging effects of a B12 deficiency. Vegan foods contain folic acid but there are vitamin B12 supplements which also contain this vitamin. Some people may choose one of these dual action supplements to maximize their B12 intake.I eat tempeh about twice a week eggs maybe once a week(if that I have been cutting back on them), dairy a few times a week. Where do most fortified sources of B-12 come from in foods? more

Resolved Question: Vitamin D Issues...help...?

Hi, I'm 17 and a male and I'm relatively large (6'1 and 175-80 pounds). I have been having bone, muscle, joint, nerve, etc pain (not quite sure what it is yet) and have had this for almost a year. I'm also fatigued a lot and just don't feel well. I'm able to perform my normal daily routine with minimal interruptions, however. I have had several blood tests which indicate that I have high uric acid levels and low B-12 levels. My doctor began B-12 injections and tried to get me to take Alopurinol for Gout (uric acid). The last blood test the doctor ran; however, he tested for D deficiency. I got a number 15 (not sure how it is measured...I just know my number was 15). He said anything under 25 is a deficiency and anything below 50 was an insufficiency or something like that...I don't know. Anyway, one thing was clear I WAS VERY LOW. He suggested I take vitamin D pills, 2000 IU twice per day for a month and then once per day there forward until I am able to get it in more natural ways. What do you think about that? Stuff I've read says too much can be harmful. My health teacher at school takes 50,000 IU per week and she feels much better. Should I follow the recommendation of my doctor? Take less? Take more? Second opinion (which I'm getting Tuesday)? more

I didn't injure it lately and i don't have white discharge from what i can see. Medical help will be appreciated. more

Resolved Question: Post-marathon blood work abnormal?

I had a routine physical a week before my marathon with lab work including the complete blood count (CBC). It showed that I had enlarged red blood cells on the CBC. 100 instead of 99 on MCV (mean corpuscle volume, I think). I upped my mileage sharply in perhaps a month and a half, so I could run this marathon. The doctor said come back and repeat the lab work because I might have a vitamin B-12 deficiency. Meanwhile, I ran the marathon and then returned for the repeat blood work the day after the marathon, since I had a deadline by which I needed the paperwork from the physical. This time, the blood work had not one, but three, abnormal red blood cell measures. Specifically, my red blood cell count was a bit low and the amount of hemoglobin per red blood cell was high and they were still enlarged. I am wondering if it is usual to have such an effect from running a marathon like this. I feel alright except for muscle soreness and this is my fourth marathon in 5 years, so I don't run them routinely or anything. I know running a marathon has a large effect on the body but is this something that it could feasibly do to me? The doctor said to wait 2 weeks and repeat the CBC yet again. He said running the marathon and the mileage increase abruptly could have caused these abnormalities in my red blood cells. more

Voting Question: What foods can help clear up eczema?

I have had pretty nasty eczema for the past 3-4 years. I've heard a lot of different things to use to clear it up, and then I learned that it is an auto-immune condition; fixing the deficiencies in the body will fix the outer problem. The things I looked up said that vitamins A, B, C, fiber, and good fatty acids etc., will help to clear it up. What could I eat that could help this out? more

Resolved Question: Can't Concentrate! please read my story, please help!?

Ok I am an 18 year old guy. I go to the gym faithfully 3-4 times a week lifting weights and such. I'm a freshman in college technically, but I dual-enrolled through high school, so I already have enough credits to receive my AA degree. My major is computer hardware engineering, but of course I know I have ways to go still. I go to school full-time 12+ hours each semester (except summer). I do not have a job, nor have I ever worked at a job, although I am really trying to get a part time job. I live at home with my parents. I say all this in hopes to get a better answer as to solutions to my problem. Ok here's the deal. The past several semesters I've been struggling versus when I first got into college through dual-enrollment. At first, I made straight A's like the first semesters. Then one semester I started getting B's and last semester I struggled and got two C's and two B's, taking Core Bio 1, Calc 1, Chemistry 1, and Ethics(piece of cake). The C's were in the Calc 1 and Chem 1 classes, and I barely passed. I found out overtime that I was having trouble concentrating and focusing. That semester in which I received the C's, I could not concentrate and it was real hard to and I turned to Energy Drinks like Monster, and energy shots like 5 hours energy to see if it would help, because caffiene is a Stimulant, so I figured it'll help me concentrate. Well, idk what happend, but I made it through and it seemed at first the caffiend supplements were helping with my concentration/focus. Overtime, this semester came around, it's supposed to be an easy semester kinda. I'm taking Guitar 1, Marriage/Family, Intro to IT Logic, and Calculus 2. Calculus 2 obviously is the one I'm struggling the most, because its the most difficult versus the others. I'm behind in homework, and for some reason throughout this semester, trying to concentrate is getting harder and harder, and I keep getting distracted. I was using the energy supplements throughout the beginning of the semester, but I guess like everyone says their bad for you, well they started taking a toll on me, and I started getting real tired each day, and getting depressed all the time (because I read caffeine is a temporary stimulant, then becomes a depressant afterwards). During College spring break when I tried to catch up on work, I quit the caffeine intake supplements Cold Turkey, just quit it all, because I know how bad those are for you, and they weren't helping my concentration anymore like it did (or I thought it did) before. Ya maybe its bad, and several days after that I felt like crap, and extremely depressed because I wasn't constantly taking caffeine so it all became a depressant. After spring break, and me flushing all the caffiene out of my system, I tried natural stuff for concentration again (I have before and they didn't work) to see if they would help but it didn't help. Some people told me because I weigh like 155-165lbs and am 6'0" tall, and I work out 3-4 times each week lifting weights, that it might be a vitamin deficiency or something. But I have always taken vitamins, and now I'm taking a multi-vitamin. I feel good with the vitamins, but it doesn't really help with concentration. I tried going someplace quiet like the library or someplace with no distractions, but I always find myself getting up and finding something and get distracted again. I've tried listening to music of all kinds to help, and it used to help loooooong ago, but stopped working a while ago, and just makes it worse. I have like only one friend, and we don't hang out and talk much. Even though I work out, and am a handsome young man, I do not go out like at all. It's pretty much school home school home school home, and church sometimes, but that's it. I have so much free time, that there is no excuse for me not to get my work done, especially that I don't work, and I know that. Other people way busier than me would wish to have what I have, yet idk why it's hard for me to get my work done. I find myself getting distracted alot, and then I end up watching tv shows, playing games on my iphone, or other stuff, and I know in the back of my mind that I shouldn't be wasting time, but for some reason, it's just hard to get myself to do it, then I think about all the work that needs to get done, and then it gets very hard. I don't know what's wrong with me, or if anyone else can relate with my situation. I've made an appointment with a psychiatrist, but the appointment is not until practically the end of this semester, and I want to know why it's hard to concentrate and such, and what I can do, because I really do wanna do good in school. All of my classes are going well so far, the only class I'm having a hard time with is Calculus 2, but the work has piled up and it's gettCaitlyn, what the heck? My question has nothing to do with wanting to lose weight. I'm skinny and fit. more

Resolved Question: My tongue is sore any ideas as to what it might be?

For the past three days or so my tongue has been sore on the under left side. I looked to see if there was any inflammation.. usually when you look on the under side of your tongue and you can see the veins, its near one of those. It is slightly red and raw looking and perhaps a tiny bit inflamed but nothing too bad. It is a very irritating feeling and no one seems to know anything about tongues! Any ideas as to what it may be? I heard it could be stress related, such as a Vitamin B deficiency.. which could apply to me but Im not sure if this is true. more

Resolved Question: herbal adderall.... any exist? Looking for use for recreational purposes for energy, focus, and fatloss?

Adderllin.com This product contains.. Vitamin B3 Is a B vitamin with Nootropic effects. It is also has been noted for its use in people with Alzheimer’s disease. Vitamin B12 Is involved in the metabolism of every cell of the body, especially affecting the DNA synthesis and regulation but also fatty acid synthesis and energy production. Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause severe and irreversible damage, especially to the brain and nervous system. Vitamin B-12 gives a great natural energy boost. Guarana Guarana is an herb that is rich in caffeine. Research has also shown that guarana may affect how quickly the body perceives itself to be full as well. Bitter Orange Bitter orange is used as a stimulant and appetite suppressant which aids in weight loss. It contains several alkaloids such as synephrine that stimulate the body’s beta-3 receptors. Activating these receptors boosts your metabolic rate and energy levels to help increase fat burning and ultimately body fat loss. It also promotes the release of epinephrine and nor-epinephrine which boost mental energy and focus while indirectly helping body fat loss. Yohimbe Bark Extract It is of the tryptamine chemical class with stimulant and aphrodisiac effects. It is also known for it’s thermogenic effect. Like adderall® it is classified as pycho-stimulant that has Nootropic behavior. Choline Dihydrogen Citrate It is a naturally-occuring ammonium salt that is found in the lipids that make up cell membranes -in the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Choline is the chemical precursor or “building block” needed to produce the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and research suggests that memory, intelligence, and mood are mediated at least in part by acetylcholine metabolism in the brain. Acetyl-L-Carnitine ALCAR has neuroprotective benefits in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. ALCAR plays many important roles in the body, but the most important one from a fat burning perspective is ALCAR’s role in escorting fatty acids to the cell’s mitochondria where they can be burned as fuel aiding in body fat loss. Bacopa Extract It has been used in India for several thousand years and is considered a “brain tonic” which enhances memory development, learning, and concentration thus fighting attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The herb shows significant psychotropic action as evidenced by excessive sleep and conformation changes in the brain as well as blood. It is also a potent antioxidant. Acetyl-L-Tyrosine Tyrosine is converted in the body to key biologic compounds. These compounds include epinephrine, dopamine, L-dopa, Co-Q10, and thyroid hormones. Caffeine Caffeine has nootropic effects, inducing positive changes in memory and learning. Both caffeine and naturally occurring caffeine found in guarana called guaranine are found in Adderllin. Dimethylaminoethanol DMAE is related to choline and is a biochemical precursor to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Studies have shown an increase in vigilance and alertness, with a positive influence on mood. White Willow Bark Extract White willow bark extract is added because a synergy occurs whenever ingredients are combined and the specific combination of those ingredients provides a greater benefit than the individual benefits that could be realized if each of those ingredients were taken independent of each other. Also known as a natural pain reliever. Piperine Piperine is an extract found from black pepper and is known for it’s increased uptake of nutrients and supplements. Vinpocetine Is an extract found in the periwinkle plant. Vinpocetine is reported to have a cerebral blood-flow enhancing and neuroprotective effects. It is also used as a drug in eastern european countries for the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders and age related memory impairment. Huperzine Is naturally occurring and extracted from the Firmoss plant. Huperzine has been shown to enhance memory and learning performance in clinical trials performed on China I hope this helped people who want to take an herbal alternative for recreational use. more

Resolved Question: Vitamin B12 Deficiency Question?

I was recently advised by my GP that my oral swelling is a result of a vitamin B12 deficiency. My lips swell up to twice their normal size, are very red, and itch and burn like crazy! My only relief is to keep them slathered under a thick layer of Aquaphor at all times. Are there any "quick fixes" to getting my B12 levels stabilized ASAP? I have a photo shoot next weekend, and if I can't get my clown lips under control, I'm going to have to cancel it. I'm already on a multivitamin (which I sometimes forget to take, hence this flare up), so I'm looking for easily digestible Vitamin B-12 rich foods I can include in my diet so my body can replenish the deficiency. My main disadvantage here is food allergies: No nuts, no raw vegetables (excludes leafy veggies), no raw fruits (excludes citrus). Walnuts, Almonds, Carrots, and Apples result in reactions I can't control with OTC histamine blockers.Umm... Not sure where some of these answers came from. I'm not trying to lose weight. more
